FG Vows To Tackle ‘Miracle Centres’ Menace

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, says the Federal Government is determined to sanitise the nation’s educational system.

Private secondary schools in Nigeria that stop exam fraud are known as Miracle Examination Centres (MECs). Regardless of whether their final exams are actually successful, they are known for promising students success.

Alausa, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said the current administration would tackle the menace of miracle centres.

He claimed that the government is addressing the issue of examination malpractice frontally.

Alausa argued that allowing students to cheat on exams degrades those who work incredibly hard to achieve high grades.

The government’s plan to train five universities, which would also train the other public institutions nationwide, has improved the quality of the country’s tertiary system, according to the minister.

“This is unacceptable because it will discourage the diligent people who allow cheating.”

” We will tackle this issue of miracle centre, this pervasive exam cheating decisively. We would put an end to this threat that has actually harmed our educational system, he added.
