
The Federal Government announced a significant increase in the amount of N5.6 billion in revenue from marriage contracts and application for expatriate quotas.
According to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on Tuesday, the government earned about N2.4 billion from marriage contracts in 2024 through its marriage registry at the Ministry of Interior.
In addition, the ministry generated over N3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications, resulting in a remarkable 150% increase in overall revenue.
This significant increase demonstrates the government’s efforts to diversify and enhance its existing sources of income.
The government’s development initiatives and public services are anticipated to benefit from the increased revenue.
