If Barry Ferguson stays at Rangers after the end of the season, he vows to “make them a better club” and won’t look for another managerial position in the future.
The 47-year-old had previously served as the club ambassador before being appointed interim manager following Philippe Clement’s departure in late February, and the former captain made an announcement that he would step down from his previous position in the interim.
Ferguson, who has won four victories from his ten games in charge, said, “No” in terms of managing elsewhere in the future.
“I enjoyed my time working for Rangers before, and I’m hoping to return and enjoy what I was doing.”
Ferguson’s temporary appointment came as a surprise because he had been a member of Alloa Athletic for three years.
After serving as player-manager at Blackpool, he also managed clubs like Clyde and Kelty Hearts.
He continued, “I am aware of what this club needs.” Rangers Football Club should achieve what I can.
“I’ve enjoyed every second of it, and I got an opportunity I never thought I would get.” Some of the outcomes have hurt me, which I haven’t enjoyed. Because it is a big challenge, I enjoy the challenge.
“I always have my back.” We just need to wait and see, even though I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m confident that I can do the job with the staff I’ve hired.
One of the most important decisions made at Ibrox is the head coach’s position, which the club confirmed this week as the first time they are negotiating with American investors, including the San Francisco 49ers, about a potential takeover of the club.
And this summer, Everton’s football director Kevin Thelwell will move to Rangers to take over the position of sporting director.
Ferguson said, “He’s an experienced guy, he’s been about a lot of clubs, a lot of big clubs as well, so I think it was a appointment that was necessary.
