Fans have only just learned the true meaning of SZA’s name, as well as the way it is pronounced, but her real name is Solana Imani Rowe, who has been active in music for years.

In previous interviews, SZA explained the significance of her moniker, revealing that each letter embodies a distinct concept from the Supreme Alphabet.
Each letter represents a different ideology, she said. S, then, means self-sovereignty, like one’s own savior.
Z stands for zig-zag, which refers to one’s own enlightenment, and A stands for Allah, a God, or whatever else you would consider to be the most prestigious.
