A man fell 20 feet from a stand onto the field of play during a Major League Baseball game between the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he is now in a critical condition in a hospital.

In the seventh inning of the game against the Chicago Cubs, the spectator fell over the railing at the Pirates’ PNC Park.

Before being transported to Allegheny General Hospital, the Pirates claimed, he received treatment from the two teams’ medical staff and emergency services.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said, “I’m thinking about his family and him right now.”

The man was taken off the field on a cart after being given medical attention for about ten minutes before being taken back to the field.

Andrew McCutchen, a Pirates player, said: “Truly hate what happened tonight.

Can’t help but think about that man, his family, and friends.

“I’m praying for him tonight.

Let us reflect on his loved ones tonight and give our families a little more of a hug. I’m hoping he survives.

Pittsburgh Police are also investigating the incident, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
