FAAC Allocation: Tinubu Urges Governors To Deliver Results

Following the release of a total of $1. 11 trillion in funding to states and local governments through the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) in the previous year, President Bola Tinubu has made a call to the governors of state to explain the unprecedented fiscal inflow with tangible development results.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) meeting’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting featured the president, who urged the governors to redouble their efforts to promote grassroots development, claiming that many Nigerians were still dissatisfied with the pace of governance and the benefits of democracy.

We need to do more, Tinubu said. At the grassroots, Nigerians continue to complain. You, the governors, need to sand the ground and encourage more grassroots democracy-building.

We must not fall asleep. The effects of government must be felt more directly by the populace.

The Federal Government just announced that it had a total of 14.27 trillion in tax revenues for the year between January and June, an increase of 43% over the $9.98 trillion that was collected in the first half of 2024.
