With the squad preparing to play in a seventh successive FA Cup semi-final in London, manager Pep Guardiola claims that Manchester City’s supporters are in a “difficult” situation.

Reports from Friday suggested that City was having trouble selling out their seats for the Wembley game against Nottingham Forest on Sunday (16:30 BST)?

The cost of tickets will increase even further as food and transportation costs from £30 to £150.

Wembley, according to sources, has “the largest capacity in the country” and allows the biggest fans possible from each club for their team in person when BBC Sport inquired about semi-finals being held there.

However, Guardiola, City manager, stated in his pre-game press conference that “the FA Cup might be played here in the north one day.”

They will visit Goodison Park, Old Trafford, Etihad, Anfield, or Old Trafford. I am not the person to say that I understand the people.

“I fully understand that people all over the world experience economic hardship. We will perform both for visitors to Wembley and for those who are unable to attend.

Guardiola is “always” with fans who can’t leave.

Since its renovation of the national stadium was finished in 2007, City will play its 28th game there.

After losing to rivals Manchester United in the previous two years, they are also competing for a third straight title.

The fans are unable to travel because of the people’s travel restrictions, work commitments on Monday and possible return late, and ticket prices, added Guardiola.

I fully comprehend why they don’t arrive. They would most likely love to travel, I am certain.

Our job is to do our best, not with them, but with them. I’m not complaining at all; it’s the opposite of what we’re doing. I’m with those who want to travel but are unable.

City fans set up a second protest earlier this week outside Etihad Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa, and they are planning further demonstrations due to what they claim is the club’s refusal to increase the number of season ticket holders.
