Fans have criticized the breakup between Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who has been the subject of a media frenzy since their breakup last year. However, there are signs that they may be back on track, and the breakup has been described as “staged.”

The couple got engaged last year and met on Love Island’s fifth season, and they dated for five years. Their relationship ended in 2024 when they welcomed their daughter Bambi into the world. In her highly anticipated Amazon Prime Video two-part documentary, Molly set the record straight following a turbulent breakup surrounded by cheesy rumors.

The former Love Island star and entrepreneur opened up what had been going on in her private life behind-the-scenes, providing insight into her life. She discussed her breakup with Tommy, parenting, and her business ventures. Fans were able to hear her first-hand account of the events that occurred with her boxer boyfriend. She told viewers their breakup was caused by Tommy’s drinking, which became out of hand.

However, Molly Mae fanatics already knew this, as days before the documentary hit screens, the boxer had done a tell-all interview with Men’s Health, where he opened up about his drinking problem. He bravely shared his mental health struggles and set the record straight after being scathing about cheating.

Many people are now persuaded that the two are still dating after their breakup; some even rumor that they were kissing on New Years Eve. So is this purely a coincidence with the second part of Molly-Mae’s documentary set to air in spring, or was it planned?

We spoke with PR experts to find out whether the pair could have pulled this as a PR stunt or whether they have just so happen to be together while the documentary is being produced.

The timing of the documentary and the surrounding narratives, including Tommy Fury’s interview about this struggle, “certainly raise eyebrows,” according to PR expert Chad Teixeira, who noted that speculation about their reconciliation “certainly raises eyebrows.”

Fans, who have closely followed their relationship since Love Island, may believe that the erratic distribution of content, along with the strategic media appearances, suggests a carefully managed narrative rather than an unplanned series of events.

Due to the “calculated nature of social media storytelling today,” Chad also emphasized that it is understandable that there is speculation about it being a PR stunt. According to him, “high-profile couples frequently face scrutiny over the authenticity of their personal lives because their relationship developments align so conveniently with professional projects,” and he claimed that the New Year’s Eve images and sightings might “fuel scepticism, especially since the documentary was split into two parts, which could give rise to room to build anticipation for a reunion storyline.”

Given her proven track record of transparency and her ability to maintain her brand, Molly-Mae may still be able to control the narrative by making sure her audience feels informed rather than manipulated, according to Chad, who noted that “given her strong track record of transparency, she may still be able to control the narrative by addressing concerns head-on and making sure her audience feels genuinely informed rather than manipulated.”

According to the PR expert, Molly and Tommy’s decision to handle the situation will determine whether fans will view it as a calculated PR move or a natural evolution of a well-known relationship. They may avoid a significant backlash if they continue to share their journey in a manner that feels genuine and not overly orchestrated. However, if the perception grows that their relationship updates are primarily for media attention, it could lead to disillusionment among their core supporters”, he concluded.

According to The Mirror, Luana Ribeira, a PR expert and founder of Dauntless PR, Molly and Tommy don’t know anything about their relationship other than to keep it out of the public eye. It can be difficult to tell the real-life feelings involved with a relationship when Molly-Mae and Tommy’s begin in front of an audience.

It should come as no surprise that the couple will try to make the most of every rollercoaster aspect of their relationship because Molly-Mae is probably one of the most successful at utilizing the attention she received from the show.

But stated that” baring your soul to the world “and letting people into your relationship” does not necessarily mean it’s a PR stunt “and said as they have a child together, it’s” hardly surprising that the couple has unfinished business and that there could potentially be a part two to their relationship, as well as the documentary”.

Molly-Mae is one of Britain’s biggest influencers, and Luana said the mum-of-one is” shrewd enough “to know that if they are going to make another go of things, they won’t get away with doing it in secret. However, doing so won’t come without attracting criticism from people who feel their timing is convenient”. One thing is for certain, if they do get back together purely for ratings, it is unlikely to last long, “Luana noted.
