Tite, a former head coach of Brazil, claims to be taking an indefinite break from the sport to care for his health.

The 63-year-old led Brazil to the Copa America title in 2019 and managed them between 2016 and 2022.

Tite, who had a heart condition in August, was just recently linked to the job at Corinthians, which he has led for three different seasons.

However, the coach was reportedly having an anxiety attack the night before his scheduled Sao Paulo signing.

In a statement posted on Matheus Bachi’s Instagram account, Tite said, “I realised that there are times when you have to understand that I can be vulnerable. And admitting that will definitely make me stronger.”

I’m passionate about what I do, and I’ll keep doing it, but after talking to my family and observing the signals coming from my body, I decided to take a break from my job and take care of myself for as long as it takes.

There is still room for conversation with Corinthians, but it will need to be paralyzed by a challenging but necessary decision.

After Croatia defeated Brazil on penalties in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals in Qatar, Tite resigned as Brazil’s head coach.
