Essex sign England and Yorkshire batter Winfield-Hill

For the 2025 Vitality Blast, Essex women have signed England-capped opening pitcher Lauren Winfield-Hill on loan from Yorkshire.

Winfield-Hill, 34, won the 2017 ODI World Cup and has played over 100 Test, One Day International, and Twenty20 cricket for England.

She has played for the Northern Superchargers in the Hundred and for Australia’s Big Bash and the Caribbean Premier League, scoring almost 4, 000 T20 runs.

Winfield-Hill said, “I’m really excited about joining Essex on loan this season, and it makes perfect sense.”

In what will be an innovative year for women’s cricket in England, I want to continue testing myself by playing at the highest level possible.

I’m excited to play in a new environment at Chelmsford, and I really feel like I can do so.
