Emotional Harry and Meghan ‘appear as US version of Royals’ in hugs with LA fire victims
According to a body language expert, Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle appeared as “US versions of the Royals” while visiting the LA wildfire victims.
Thousands of people have lost their homes in the furious flames, which have ravaged the region, including A-listers, Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins. The Sussexes recently disclosed that they had opened their Montecito home to close friends and family members who had been forced to move out. The couple are also believed to have donated supplies to people affected by the blazes, including clothing, children’s items, and other essential supplies.
In new photos, the parents-of-two were seen handing out food parcels on Friday at the Pasadena Convention Centre, which is being used as an evacuation centre. As World Central Kitchen distributes meals to victims, they pose in front of camera with Jose Andres, the founder of the restaurant chain.
Meghan and Harry appear to be holding onto regal status in the shots, as Judi James claims in a statement. “Meghan is doing some full body hugs here in a ritual of consoling,” James says. There’s a feeling that they’re acting like the US version of our royals, which is bolstered by the couple’s additional practical assistance.

Meghan can be seen holding a blue L. A. baseball cap and a crisp white shirt close to one of the wildfire victims in a photo. Judi says the embrace is a “signature” statement from the couple, as she shares: “This seems to have been an immersive experience for Meghan and Harry although, given their signature body language brand, it was always going to be the ‘ consoling ‘ hugs that would provide the most camera-worthy moments”.
She continues, “For Harry, attending the site of a disaster and tragedy and just being visible, being part of the job is a DNA compulsion.” He appears to be in that state, listening to stories and experiences that will hopefully uplift morale and reassure him, but there is also the additional role of some hands-on hugging, which has recently been added to the repertoire.
Harry and Meghan had spoken in public about the support of a list of fire service charities, animal charities, and other initiatives prior to their appearance at the evacuation center. In a statement, the couple said: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighbourhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centres, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been declared. Here are some resources and ideas if you feel compelled to help.
The couple continued: “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. Also, make sure to check in with any elderly or disabled neighbors to see if they need assistance evacuating. Some individuals and families have had nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys &, clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is assisting those in need wherever they are.
