Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman, who have just been cast in Netflix’s new Pride and Prejudice series, will finally be back together after being cast in the series on the Netflix network.
Pride and Prejudice is probably one of the most renowned pieces of British literature. The novel was Jane Austen’s second book, written in 1813, and since then, it has been the subject of thousands of remakes and adaptations, including stage shows, musicals, TV series, movies, and everything in between.
Now, streaming platform Netflix has started developing a new adaptation of the novel in a six-part miniseries with a star-studded cast and creative team. The series is written by Dolly Alderton, a British author known for her memoir-turned-series, Everything I Know About Love.
Netflix took to Instagram to announce the cast members and that filming is set to take place later this year in the UK. The main character, Elizabeth Bennet, will be portrayed by 29-year-old Emma Corrin, who is known for their role in The Crown.

Olivia Colman, who won an Oscar, will play Miss Bennet’s mother. While Mr. Darcy will be played by Jack Lowden, who is best known for his performance in Dunkirk.
Pride and Prejudice will be a reunion for Corrin and Colman. The pair already appeared onscreen together for season four of The Crown, which saw Colman portray Queen Elizabeth II and Corrin play Princess Diana. Both actors won Emmys for their performances in the series.
Many fans predict the new Pride and Prejudice adaptation will be released in 2025 despite the fact that there is no current release date for it. However, later this year filming is expected to begin.
Dolly stated on the project that “Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and innovative ways of bringing this beloved book to life.”
Many fans have taken to Reddit to share their excitement. One user commented, “I know nothing about this production, but just seeing Dolly Alderton, the cast, and Netflix—I feel like I know where this is going …” Another eager fan shared, “I’ll take as many adaptations as I can get, and the cast looks solid to me. Looking forward to it.”
