YouTuber Emma Chamberlain has offered guidance to her ‘anxious’ fans just days after sharing a vlog in which she experienced a panic attack.

The social media star recently shared footage of herself confronting her fear of flying and struggling to remain calm during the journey.

In the candid video, uploaded to her main channel on 31st August, Emma revealed that her heart began pounding and her eyes started filling with tears the moment the plane took off.

Now, the 24-year-old content creator has shared pearls of wisdom with “fellow anxious people” amongst her millions of followers.

Speaking on her Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain Podcast, she told listeners: “It’s pointless to worry about things we cannot control,” reports the Mirror US.

“All that we need to focus on is what we can do in our lives. However, this is the hardest piece of advice for me to follow,” she added.

Emma went on: “Because even though I know that it’s technically a waste of my energy to worry about things that I can’t control, of course I’m still worried about them. There’s a lot of scary things that I can’t control.”

The online personality proceeded to explain that as she has matured, it has become increasingly challenging to accept the matters beyond her influence. Nevertheless, “it’s a practice that [she’s] constantly working on.”

One of Emma’s techniques is regularly repeating to herself the mantra “you cannot worry about things you can’t control”.

The Gen Z celebrity, who boasts over 12 million subscribers, has been candid with fans about her personal battles with anxiety, though she reminds viewers that she offers all guidance with “a grain of salt”.

Emma’s most recent podcast explores far more than anxiety management, as she also provides advice on handling love and relationships.

During the video, she urged followers to “stay emotionally vigilante,” whilst revealing how she previously tended to over-invest in fresh romances.

The California-born influencer admitted she once considered every boyfriend was ‘the one’ after merely one month of dating.
