At her £15 million Cotswolds home, Ellen DeGeneres is alleged to be having a fight with neighbors.
The 67-year-old former US chat show host is reportedly having a dispute over a fence and extension at the lavish home. She is alleged to have been accused of infringing Roman ruins and of causing flood risk. It’s claimed Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi, 52, made a “technical breach” with their home improvements. However, according to reports, the pair’s updates are thought to risk disturbing Roman remains on the site.
According to some, parish councillors have gotten in touch with local planning enforcement to voice their concerns.
Three parish councillors claimed that the property owner is responsible for reporting any unidentified historical remains. Residents’ concerns were expressed by the publication’s minutes that read “If rubbish was swept down and “caught on the fence,” limiting flow across the field, “the hedge and wire fence could increase flood risk in the village.”
Following the floods in December, the area experienced this. As the UK was hit by torrential rain, 80 mph winds, and severe flooding, residents were left struggling to cope with the aftermath. A local near Ellen’s property told MailOnline: “The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst situation I have ever seen.
However, Ellen confirmed that the overflowing River Thames had not had an impact on her 43-acre estate in an update on Instagram. She wrote at the time: “P. S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood”.
According to reports, the talk show host and her ex-wife, who had previously been an actress, made the decision to relocate to the UK in November 2024 as a result of Donald Trump’s re-election as president. However, according to TMZ, Ellen and Portia had already purchased a home in Cotswolds before the election.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ support was well known to Ellen. She had endorsed the attorney in August 2024 on her Instagram page, writing at the time: “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come, I can’t wait for Kamala Harris to be our next president”.
