After an onlooker emailed the man’s rendition of his 2017 hit Perfect, the busker was left speechless by the generous actions of superstar Ed Sheeran.
After a chance encounter that led to the superstar watching his own performance, the busker who was sung by Ed Sheeran left stunned.
Finn Flood took to Twitter to share his memories of singing Ed’s 2017 hit, Perfect in a busy Manchester shopping district. A witness who had been peering from a nearby hotel window stopped while claiming to be a friend of the superstar during his rendition.
Finn’s jaw dropped as he said, “I work really close with him.” I just sent him a video of you revealing that I’m in Manchester, and I’ll show him it when he returns. Finn reacted in awe of hope and said, “Thank you very much. Wow. That is fantastic. That would be “busking for you”!

After finishing the song, Ed’s pal quickly returned, stating that he’d been given “an instruction” from the man himself. Handing Finn a wad of banknotes, he explained: “Ed wants to say, ‘there’s £100 – do something amazing with it’. Congratulations – and he’s watching your Instagram.”
“Oh wow”! Finn reacted. “Thank you very much.” Then he explained to his followers, “Wow, Ed Sheeran just gave me £100.” He just offered me a gift of £100 from his friend. What are the chances that the guy will call him when he gets out of his hotel to watch him play Perfect and that he will send him Perfect because I’m playing his song? Wow, my god.
One TikTok user said, “Wow, that doesn’t happen everyday,” and Finn was delighted. Keep the $100 in mind. I’m hoping Ed will soon let you play on his stage. You deserved it, Finn, a second person gushed. Another outstanding talent, Ed Sheeran, recognized you as a great talent. “Fabulous”
A third praised: “Wow, that’s brilliant. demonstrates your talent. A fourth individual praised: “So a blessing.” whereas a fifth claimed, “This was incredible.”
As part of his newly-launched Ed Sheeran Foundation, meanwhile, the kind-hearted singer is campaigning for five key areas of growth. He wants increased music funding in schools, training for music teachers, funding for grassroots venues, music apprenticeships and a diverse music curriculum.
The 34-year-old’s appeal is a continuation of Myles Smith and Ezra Collective’s earlier speeches at last month’s BRIT Awards, which also called on the UK government to address the funding for grassroots music venues and venues.
