At one of Ed Sheeran’s shows, the awkward situation was captured and he took to Instagram to share it with his fans.

We’ve seen plenty of fans get engaged at concerts over the years, but at one of Ed Sheeran’s recent shows, quite the opposite happened. Two of his loyal fans had broken up after purchasing tickets but still decided to attend together.

Cameras picked up the moment Ed, 34, spoke to them in the crowd as he took to his Instagram feed to post the awkward moment on Saturday (August 30). A woman in the crowd could be seen holding up a poster that read: “He’s a p***k. Broke up with me two months ago.”

The musician paused his song to read out the poster before contrilling himself and telling her he would dedicate his next song to her. The lyrics to “I wish that you would look in the mirror cause if you did, you’d see the problem is you cause you’re a prick” were then sung by him before moving on to A Little More, a 2025 song.

The song is about the slow decay of a once-loving relationship, as resentment replaces affection. The video features Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint and details the powerful build up of hate for a former friend.

The female fan is seen singing the lyrics to her ex-boyfriend’s song as he hangs his head in shame in the short clip. Ed continued, asking if tonight was an attempt to reunite them. She responded, “I don’t know.

The singer continued, “So it’s not entirely, totally finished. Talk it out, establish trust, and have a conversation. There’s nothing worse than feeling pressured by 45 000 people. As the fan began to cry while watching, he kept playing the song.

Fans flocked to the Instagram post’s comments section and expressed their opinions on the awkward but unintentional situation, captioned “Relationship counseling by Sheeran.”

Another devoted follower declared, “THIS IS SO AMAZING! If they ever come back together, we’ll need to know. Do your thing, Instagram, while another user remarked, “They still communicated enough to be front row.” We firmly believe in you.

While a fourth added: “She’ll realize she’s worth more than the ex who dumped her and find a better person after having @teddysphotos sing her.”

Ed’s Mathematics Tour is currently taking in Europe, which will end on September 7 in Germany. The singer has already announced a 2026 tour date despite this.

In July, he announced he will be performing his Loop Tour next year but many of his fans were left disappointed after the opening dates were revealed and there were none in the UK. Instead, he revealed dates in Australia and New Zealand between January and March.

The singer made the announcement on Instagram. Beginning a brand-new tour called the LOOP tour next year, Ed shared a picture of him holding up his guitar in front of his adoring fans as well as a tour poster.

New stage, new techniques, a new set up, new songs, and all-new classics. I can’t wait to be back in Australia and New Zealand for the best time in January, February, and March 2026. Tickets are available through Thursday, July 29. See you there.

Fans are eager to see the tour in their own country, but some users were offended by the choice to only announce Australia and New Zealand.

His US fans weren’t particularly thrilled, either, despite the absence of any UK dates. COME BACK TO THE US NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Another agreed as they pleaded: “Please let me know about the USA dates soon.

Another person sung the words “You should promote your album also in Europe,” next to a crying emoji face. Any chances of dating in the EU, “asked a fourth.

Another user added, “You kind of stay on tour, so crazy!” Really believed you’d take a break, but I’m so excited to see you in 2027 and hopefully.
