Former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes accepted a Best News award at the 2025 TRIC Awards, but there were a lot of mixed reactions.

Eamonn Holmes was heckled and booed while accepting an award at the TRIC ceremony.

Eamonn Holmes encountered a tense atmosphere at Tuesday’s Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) awards as he collected the News award on behalf of GB News Breakfast.

The 65-year-old presenter thanked the production team and viewers for their support as he entered the stage using a wheelchair ramp. Some attendees booed audibly, but the experience was marred by this.

There were a few boos around the room after GB News Breakfast was announced as the winner, according to a source at the event. Eamonn needed a ramp to get on stage because he was in a wheelchair.

Despite the reaction, Eamonn paid a fitting tribute to fellow presenter Charli Peters, who had earlier won the News Presenter award for his investigative reporting on grooming gangs in the UK.

The insider continued, “It was nice to see Eamonn pay tribute to a colleague.” However, an audience member heckled Eamonn as he “got off,” which made the end of his speech quite awkward.

Eamonn’s ability to hear the heckling is still a mystery. He concluded his speech with a warm ovation, “We say thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you

Eamonn has accepted the TRIC News award for the second year in a row. He made an appearance last year using a walker and made comments about personal difficulties, claiming, “I got two things in my back that I didn’t want,” presumably in reference to his recent breakup with former co-host Ruth Langsford.

Elsewhere at the ceremony, former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri shared her thoughts on her career direction following her recent split from Andrew Le Page, whom she met on the ITV2 dating show in 2022. The couple, who made it to the Love Island final, ended their relationship after more than two and a half years together.

The 26-year-old said she is focusing on developing her presenting career rather than turning to reality-dating shows when she spoke at the TRIC Awards in London. Tasha acknowledged, “It’s not for me personally,” referring to programs like Celebs Go Dating and Love Island: All Stars.

She continued, “My dating shows are canceled because I know people find love on these shows.” I’m taking a different path right now. I have a strong passion for it. Despite my happily single status, I’m open to love. A family would be wonderful.

Tasha’s comments reveal her desire to leave the reality TV spotlight and look for new presenting opportunities, opening up a new chapter in her career.
