Dozens Feared Killed, Several Others Missing As Suspected Bandits Attack Katsina Village
After suspected bandits entered Baure village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, dozens of people are said to have been killed, and several others have been missing.
Bandits’ den in Baure village is a well-known term for its significant control in the area.
The attack occurred on Tuesday while the hoodlums were on a rampage, visiting house to house in the area, a resident who was unnamed, told Channels Television on Friday.
He claimed that during the attack, about fifteen people died instantly and that several others were still unaccounted for.

“The hoodlums also burnt some of the corpses”, he noted.
On a phone call on Friday, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the police spokesman, confirmed the incident to our correspondent, but he declined to provide further information.
“Yes, it is true. But he said, “I’m trying to put all the details together so that I can keep you informed.”
In the same Baure village, suspected bandits were said to have ambush members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.
Witnesses reported to the BBC Hausa that the victims were attacked on Thursday while returning from a condolence visit to the nearby Batsari LGA. Typically, they were from Charanchi, Safana, Kurfi, and Kaita LGAs.
He indicates that there are more than thirty casualties.
“The victims were members of a neighborhood vigilante organization from various local governments who paid a condolence visit to Madaddafai village after one of their members passed away.
” After the condolences, their leaders returned home, but the rest decided to proceed to the Baure village where they were ambushed by the bandits”, he said.
