Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey has graced our screens once again as he returns to a familiar role with Wicked: For Good.
The second instalment of the film adaptation Wicked has been released in cinemas this month based on the smash hit musical. It is set during a time before The Wizard of Oz, following Elphaba’s unlikely friendship with Glinda and the events leading up to what we know from The Wizard of Oz.
Although not a direct prequel, many fans will see similarities and some questions answered. Starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the film has become a huge success, bringing with it once again Brigerton star, Lord Antohony Bridgerton – Jonathan Bailey.
According to People, the Bridgerton legend was named the sexiest man alive of 2025. But is he dating anyone currently and if so, who is it?
Is Jonathan Bailey married? Who is his partner?
Back in 2023, Jonathan Bailey confirmed he is in a relationship but had chosen to keep his partner’s identity private. In an interview with The Standard, he said he was in a relationship with a “lovely man”, adding his status was “not secret but private”.
He is not a couple. Prior to this, the actor was reportedly dating actor James Ellis, a fact that was never made public.
Bailey has maintained the privacy of all of his previous relationships, as well as his focus on his professional life on social media.
As the pair were seen kissing on red carpets and demonstrating their close bond during Jurassic World Rebirth, there was speculation about it. However, the pair’s confirmation that their relationship was purely platonic dispelled the rumors.
In Wicked and Wicked For Good, Jonathan Bailey plays a different character.
Jonathan portrays Winkie Prince Fiyero. He initially establishes a romantic relationship with Glinda before becoming a love interest.
After Elphaba cast a spell to protect him, something went wrong, and he eventually turns into a scarecrow. After he assisted Elphaba in fabricating her own death, the two escaped Oz and settled peacefully together.
The casting choice has gone down a treat with fans as one person wrote on Reddit: “So princely! Gorgeous! Masterful! Regal! Intense!”
Another penned: “I’m a fan of Bridgeton, but he was a REVELATION in this role.” As Long As You’re Mine in Part 2, I’m going to die.
A third added: “I am OB-SESSED with Johnathan Bailey in ‘Dancing Through Life’.”

Yes, Jonathan Bailey has musical theater experience and can sing. The actor, who was 7 years old, began his acting career by playing Tiny Tim and Scrooge in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of A Christmas Carol.
He later appeared in numerous top West End productions, including Certain Young Men, American Psycho, and The Olivier Award-Winning Company.
