The couple has made fun of the name of their unborn son, who is named Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg, after declaring their first child together earlier this year.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg have revealed that they’ve already picked the name for their unborn baby boy. The pair announced earlier this year that Dianne is pregnant with their first child – making her the first pregnant dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.
In a recent video, the Aussie dancer shared that announcing her pregnancy made her the “most nervous” she’d ever been. The couple, who have been together since they met on the hit BBC show in 2018, now regularly post videos to YouTube about their lives.
They stated in a video released on October 27 that they were the most anxious people to share the news with their loved ones and that having them share it with them lessened anxiety. Dianne responded to questions from fans by telling them to tell them. She remarked, “It was the most agitated I’ve ever been.” I have no idea why I was so nervous to tell people. I almost turned it off.

Joe and I both agreed that it was agonizing to tell the family. He claimed that it was a “big life moment” and that it was significant. He continued, “I was much more nervous to tell friends and family than I was to tell you a lot,” in a conversation with the camera. She went on to say that Joe cried whenever they told someone new and that her father assumed they were being funny.
The couple also stated in the video that they have already come up with a name for the boy’s baby, and that they will not disclose it. We can’t really provide any details about it other than the fact that I can’t really find any real references to it.
It’s the type of name that can be shortened, but I know some people who use it as their surname. Although it’s a fairly common name, Dianne added that it’s not unique because it’s “he said,” like apple or pear. Isn’t it a bit like Joe, though? You can call yourself Joseph when you’re older, but you’re still young.
Or it could make a good sportsperson’s name, Joe continued. Diane keeps calling him that name while I purposefully haven’t said it out loud. I do worry that we might accidentally reveal it between now and our due date, which is another thing I don’t believe we’re going to share. He will now be known as Derek.
In September, Dianne and Joe shared their baby news in a sweet video posted to Instagram. In it, they painted a picture and then turned the paper around to show the couple as stick people, along with a stick baby in the middle. They captioned the post: “Our little baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you.”
Later in the video, they explained how fascinating it will be for their son to watch their parents’ wedding. In 2018, Dianne and Joe first met on Strictly Come Dancing as partners on the popular BBC program.
Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, both of whom are in a relationship and have a child together, were unable to make it to the show’s finale.
Because Dianne has continued to be a pro dancer on the show and was partnered with fellow Aussie Stefan Dennis this year, she is the first pregnant dancer to compete on the show.
Although some fans objected to her continuing to dance while she was pregnant, she has since apologized. She captured a cartwheel in a video that she shared on Instagram.

Unfortunately, Stefan had to leave the show due to an injury, putting the series’ finale, Dianne’s Strictly Journey, in its entirety. Although she is still seen dancing in pro numbers on the results show, those dances were captured on camera before the series even started.
