Deepti Sharma, the second-largest player in Women’s Premier League history, was sold at the 2026 auction for Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who had the second-highest bid in women’s premier league history.

Deepti, 28, makes a record-breaking 3.2 crore Indian rupee return to UP Warriorz in 2023, which Royal Challengers Bengaluru paid for Smirti Mandhana, an opener for India, for Rs. 272 000.

Only Healy, 35, was the only player in the opening marquee set, which sold Sophie Ecclestone from England for 85 lakh Indian rupees (approximately £75, 000).

Amelia Kerr, a two-time champion of New Zealand, signed for 3 crore Indian rupees (approximately £226, 000) as the second-most expensive signing of the day.

Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa’s captain, joined Warriorz, along with Meg Lanning, who is a member of Australia, but she is unlikely to take the same position there, with their co-owner claiming to prefer an Indian captain.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed England batsman Danni Wyatt-Hodge while England seamen Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith signed.

The third-largest contract awarded to Warriorz came unexpectedly to India bowler Shikha Pandey, who had purchased it for 2.4 crore Indian rupees.

Warriorz signings Harleen Deol and Pratika Rawal, as well as seamer Kranti Gaud, were other Indian players signed, while Shree Charani signed for the Capitals.

The England players who weren’t chosen included Heather Knight, Amy Jones, and Sophia Dunkley.

With Australia’s Beth Mooney and Ash Gardner among the other overseas players who were retained, Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt was the only England player to be re-elected for the following year’s competition.
