DeChambeau qualifies for Ryder Cup – who else is in?

The US Ryder Cup team’s final three automatic qualifying spots are held by Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley, and Harris English.

For the upcoming month’s contest against Europe at Bethpage, New York, they join world number one Scottie Scheffler, reigning US Open champion JJ Spaun, and Xander Schauffele on captain Keegan Bradley’s team.

Following the conclusion of Scheffler’s most recent qualifying competition, the BMW Championship, which was won by the current US PGA Championship and Open champion, the six Americans were confirmed.

DeChambeau, who plays on the LIV Golf circuit, was chosen for the tournament’s top three majors appearances this year.

On August 27th, Bradley will release the final six captain’s picks for the 12-man team.

After finishing in a tie for 17th at the BMW Championship, Bradley, 39, has a chance of picking himself to play, putting him in contention to win the US Ryder Cup.

Arnold Palmer, 34, captained the US team in 1963 as the Ryder Cup’s final playing captain.

Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa were two of the people who were denied automatic US team qualification.

None of the top 12 Americans have ever competed in a Ryder Cup, and Bradley may choose Patrick Cantlay, who is 15th on the list but has collected 512 points in two previous starts.

Robert MacIntyre of Scotland, who had a lead by four shots heading into the final day, finished second to Scheffler in Maryland.

He then qualified for the European team along with Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, which was enough.

Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, and Shane Lowry are currently occupying the final three automatic slots, with the rankings determined following the Belfry’s British Masters this week.

On September 1st, Captain Luke Donald will announce the picks for the six other spots.

Former Masters champion Jon Rahm, who won the LIV Golf individual champion for the second year in a row despite not winning an event, might be in contention.

Rahm is currently 23rd in the European rankings, meaning LIV golfers can only be qualified for the four major rankings.
