Danny Dyer secures ‘really mad’ new film job after Disney’s Rival success

Danny Dyer has revealed he has landed a huge new film role, and he’s not only the leading male, but he’s the only actor in the whole production.

The 47-year-old star, who is currently starring in Disney+ drama Rivals, has shared that he’s set to fly to Dublin later this month to begin filming a new one-man-movie called Three Quick Breaths. The former EastEnders actor acknowledged that his upcoming film is a “really mad concept,” even though he can’t discuss it.

However, Danny’s admission to having a health scare caused a hiccup as he later received the all-clear. He has made it clear that he wants to change his life this year and that he will make an effort to quit smoking to keep his health up.

“I can’t talk too much about it. It’s a really mad concept. Due to Rivals, I’m trying to push myself now that I’m known as a sort of Marlon Brando in the acting world, I suppose. “I’m trying to push myself,” Danny told The Sun.

He continued: “Even though I’ve been acting for so long anyway, this is something that is going to be a real test for me. But I had to have a very, very in-depth medical]check] for insurance reasons.

” I’m the only one in this film. Its only one character. Just me. I won’t go too into it but it’s a bit like Phone Booth with Colin Farrell. It’s quite a clever idea. Because I’m the only actor, I had two doctors waiting at my door. Danny, who was best known for playing Mick Carter in EastEnders, is currently playing businessman Freddie Jones on the show, which also stars Emily Atack and Alex Hassell.

Based on Jilly Cooper’s novel, Rivals delves into the cutthroat world of regional television in Rutshire, seen through Corinium television. The plot centres around the fierce competition between Lord Tony Baddingham, played by David Tennant, and Rupert Campbell-Black, portrayed by The Boys ‘ Hassell.

And Danny praised David Tennant’s performance as Lord Tony Baddingham in the television series in recent days. Danny discussed his time on set with David during an interview with Ed Gamble and James Acaster on the Off Menu podcast.

He said:” I’m part of a proper, real ensemble cast with elite people. David Tennant, what a lovely geezer he is, you want him to be horrible because he is just perfect. He’s like a Rolls-Royce of acting. Despite the difficulties he encountered, especially when speaking Japanese for his character, “Danny also expressed his enjoyment of his role in Rivals.” He explained:” With Freddie, he’s lovely, he’s a teddy bear with a bite.

“And also, I speak a bit of Japanese in it which is worth tuning in for, just for that.
