We’ve taken a look at some of the former wrestlers whose lives were tragically ended in the wake of the news of Maxx Justice’s death, which devastated fans.
WWE wrestler Maxx Justice has died after being knocked off his bike by a vehicle in a road accident, aged 63. The star, whose real name is Mike Raybeck, was on his way home from work in California when he was fatally struck, causing his tragic death.
His entire career spanned the 1990s until the early 2000s, with a focus on the All Pro Wrestling, but he also competed in the WWE when the organization’s former name, the World Wrestling Federation, was no longer present. A number of WWE stars have passed away over the years in depressing circumstances, including Maxx Justice, whose life came to a heartbreaking, sudden end.

Chris Benoit
Perhaps one of the most shocking cases in the wrestling world was Benoit. In 2007, the Canadian fighter killed his wife and son before taking his own life. He was 40 at the time, and his legacy was quickly ruined by the notorious killings.
Owen Hart
Canadian wrestler Owen Hart, 34, tragically died in 1999 at a live WWF match because a harness malfunctioned. Later, it was discovered that the death was caused by blunt-force trauma. His aorta was severed after the impact, which caused him to bleed fatally.
Brian Pillman
American professional footballer and wrestler Brian Pillman. In the 1980s, he was most well known for his appearances in World Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Federation. He sadly passed away just before a scheduled WWF pay-per-view match in 1997 at the age of 35 from a heart attack.
Bravo, Dino
Italian-Canadian professional wrestler and promoter Bravo, Dino was found shot dead with multiple gunshots in 1993 in what’s believed to be a mob-related hit, but to this day, his case remains unsolved.
Shad Gaspard
The former American wrestler and actor directed rescuers to save his son as they were involved in a riptide and led them to a heroic death in 2020. Shad gave his life to save his son, who was able to survive thanks to his father. At the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in 2022, Shad received the Warrior Award following his passing.
Holly’s Crash
American wrestler Holly’s Crash was found dead in 2003 after committing suicide by mixing prescription medication and alcohol at wrestler Stevie Richards’ house. It’s believed his career had declined after WWE’s release.
Mike Awesome
Mike Awesome is best known for his matches with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The actress committed suicide in 2007 after reportedly struggling with depression and a decline in her career.
Perro Aguayo Jr.
Acuayo, a wrestler from Mexico, reportedly suffered a cervical spine injury in a freak accident after receiving a dropkick to advance to the ring ropes, which resulted in severe whiplash trauma that injured his neck in 2015.
Silver king
The Mexican actor and professional wrestler collided in the ring during a match in London in front of the crowd. In the middle of the match, he suffered a heart attack that was initially thought to be a routine wrestling incident. The length of time did he need medical attention, according to critics.
Bruiser Brody
At a wrestling competition in Puerto Rico, José González, also known as Invader 1, stabbed Bruiser Brody in the backstage during a shower. González was accused of murder but pleaded guilty to self-defence, was found innocent by a jury, and did not receive a murder conviction.
