Nnamdi Kanu, the brother of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, have been ordered to be detained in a judicial hearing in Kuje, Abuja.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the force’s public relations officer, confirmed the development, claiming that the pair had allegedly violated an order preventing protests in the Three Arms Zone in Abuja.
Following a protest held on Monday in the country’s capital, the Nigerian Police charged Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others with the offence of inciting public unrest and breach of peace.
The suspects allegedly impeded traffic flow, denied residents’ right to free movement, and chanted war songs while requesting Nnamdi Kanu’s release, according to the charge sheet.
