Could Trump’s $50m reward succeed in toppling Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro?

“Hungry for justice,”

The bounty has also received praise from US members of the Venezuelan diaspora community as a powerful signal against the Maduro administration.

Aminta G, a Venezuelan business owner who has a permanent address in the US, has lived in Texas for a long time but a longing to return to her native nation.

She requested anonymity because she worried that her words might put her family in danger in Venezuela.

Aminta remarked, “I’m hungry for justice.” “For too long, there has been too much suffering.”

According to her, the bounty serves as a justification for the opposition’s resistance to Maduro’s administration.

She said, “Having that $50 million reward on this man’s head confirms that we are dealing with a bad president.” “He’s a criminal”.

Maria, in contrast, claimed for the first time that she had personally witnessed Maduro’s oppressive campaign.

She claimed that Maduro’s government fired her from her position as prosecutor. Maria explained the reasons for her dismissal in a formal way, but she never received one.

She claimed that her real cause for being fired was that she had abstained from the practice of promoting corruption, the fabrication of criminal cases, and the prosecution of innocent people.

It was common for prosecutors and judges to be pressured into accusing people without supporting evidence inside the regime-controlled justice system. I shied away from doing it.

Since then, she has applied for asylum in the US, where her application is pending.

However, her safety is compromised while she is here. Maria is currently residing in the United States as a result of her designation known as Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a form of temporary protection for people whose home countries are deemed unsafe.

However, she has nightmares about being deported to Venezuela, where she fears torture might follow. As part of a crackdown on immigration, the Trump administration has attempted to end TPS for many recipients, including Venezuelans.

She still supports Trump’s bounty plan. Maria said Maria needs to believe that the man who caused her suffering is also viewed as a criminal by others despite the fact that the reward alone is not the solution to all of Venezuela’s problems.

She uses the word “hope,” which she is cautious about, enough to justify it.
