Charlotte Jordan is best known for her role as Daisy Midgeley in the ITV soap Coronation Street but she left the show back in May of this year
A Coronation Street star has reportedly quit her new soap role which has left bosses scramble to find a replacement. Radio 4 The Archers bosses are said to have had to re-cast a role last minute which was originally given to actress Charlotte Jordan.
The star is best known for playing the role of Daisy Midgeley in Corrie and has been part of the radio show since June of this year. However, she landed a new job which meant she had to leave.
Charlotte has taken on the role of newcomer Amber but the role has now been given to another actor now that Charlotte has left. She has instead taken on a new job where she will feature in the new BBC period drama The Hairdresser Mysteries.

She is set to star alongside other famous faces such as Sally Phillips and Charlotte Hope. The former Corrie star will be playing one of the three lead parts.
The series sees Lily Petal, who is played by Sally, move to a small village and uncover secrets that are being kept by multiple residents.
Olivia Bernstone has taken over the role of Amber in The Archers as a result of Charlotte leaving. A spokesperson for the show told Metro: “After a brilliant performance as Amber, Charlotte Jordan is taking time to pursue other projects and so we are delighted to be welcoming Olivia Bernstone to the cast, who will play the role of Amber going forward.”
Charlotte left her role of Daisy Midgeley in Coronation Street in May of this year. Daisy, who is Jenny Connor’s stepdaughter, made her Weatherfield entrance in 2020 and has been at the centre of many drama-filled storylines.
Sharing a video after her last episode aired, Charlotte posted a sweet message for all of her friends and followers. She said: “Hello – I wanted to pop on and say thank you for all of the love you’ve shown Daisy over the last four and a half years.
“It’s been wonderful, it’s been an honour to be a little piece of the Corrie history and I will miss this place very, very much. Goodbye for now.”
She explained that she cried “on and off for about four hours straight” before filming her last scene on the show. She said that she found it difficult to cry in the last scene with Rob Mallard due to being all cried out.
Charlotte added: “The Corrie gang made it so special for me,” Charlotte shared. “The canteen made me my favourite lunch – which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card – which made me cry.
“I would look over to Channique [Sterling-Brown] or Julia [Goulding] or Sal [Sally Ann Matthews] during our last lunch break and see them crying – which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day.”
Charlotte announced back in January that she would be leaving the soap before then leaving the following May. She made sure to tell bosses the previous year that she wouldn’t be renewing her contract so they had time to write an exciting exit storyline.
