Golden Ace won the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle, falling once more to Constitution Hill, who had previously won the event.

Constitution Hill lost three of his previous ten contests, losing three of them.

After just a minute, the horse came down at the second hurdle, leading the jump race at Newcastle’s largest attendance in 20 years, before The New Lion, a previous unbeaten horse, also fell when the lead.

Nemean Lion finished third and placed, followed by Anzadam, who had previously been unbeaten.

Former champion jockey AP McCoy told ITV Sport, “Constitution Hill did the same thing as he has twice before, stood off a mile, and hit the middle of the hurdle.”

The 2023 Champion Hurdle hero, who was previously unbeaten, also had some serious falls in Cheltenham and Aintree.

Who could possibly believe Constitution Hill falling again, said Golden Ace trainer Jeremy Scott? “I’m glad everyone is up okay.

“We must be everyone’s nemesis,” we say! We defeated Anzadam whatever because of her excellent jumping today. There is still room for improvement, so I still believe we’re not quite there.
