Fans of the actors and the legendary band’s iconic band, Joe Thomas and James Buckley, have been enthralled by a Comic Relief Red Nose Day sketch featuring former Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley as the conflicting Gallagher brothers.

Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day has always been known for quirky sketches, and this year is no exception. As well as a Beyond Paradise and Not Going Out crossover, a People Just Do Nothing and Gladiators mash-up, and a Strictly Come Dancing special, the event on Friday night also included a special musical moment.

Former Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley reunited to play Liam and Noel Gallagher in a spoof documentary entitled Oasis: The Reunion: The Movie, a parody charting the warring brothers’ rise from Manchester teens to global rock stardom. Joining them were Hugh Dennis, Martin Lewis, Micky Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Mark Silcox, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, Roisin Conaty, and Piers Morgan, all stepping into memorable roles from the band’s legendary rise to stardom.

Fans were quick to comment on the sketch in a few moments. One viewer praised Liam’s response as “can’t wait to see what he does,” while another simply declared, “This is horrendous.” “Make it stop!” Another screamed, and a fourth added, “What fresh hell is this, I’m going to bed!”

Another unimpressed viewer wrote, “I knew this Oasis sketch would be terrible when it was announced, and now I know it’s just as awful, if not more,” while another wrote, “That Oasis sketch might just be the worst thing I have ever seen.”

Before it aired, James spoke about filming the documentary. He said: “I had such a fun time with Joe, making this sketch for Comic Relief, and was honoured to be asked to be a part of it. And, of course, being a huge Oasis fan, getting to be Liam for the day was a dream come true.”

The big sketch was always a highlight of the night, Joe continued. “I grew up watching Comic Relief. Therefore, being a part of it is both thrilling and nerve-wracking.
