Chris Brown, a singer, was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, October 24 but made an unexpected appearance at Southwark Crown Court today for a case management hearing.

Chris Brown is currently undergoing a surprise court appearance today in preparation for his alleged nightclub attack trial.

Brown, 36, was scheduled to miss today’s Southwark Crown Court case management hearing. However, he only spoke to confirm his name during the hearing in the London court.

Brown and his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, 38, pleaded guilty in court. Brown admitted not guilty to assault that caused actual bodily harm earlier this year and to having a bottle in a public space.

In a prior court hearing, he also denied the more serious charge of trying to inflict grievous bodily harm.

The Go Crazy singer was charged earlier this year with an alleged 2023 incident at the London club Tape, in which he was allegedly attacked. He denies the accusations.

Akinlolu, Brown’s co-defendant and performer, also entered a not-guilty plea of not inflicting actual bodily harm.

The trial of Brown and Akinlolu is scheduled to start in October 2026.

After discovering that he was in the country, the singer was previously detained earlier this year at Manchester’s The Lowry Hotel. A 36-year-old man was detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm at a hotel in Manchester on Thursday, May 15 at around 00:00. He had been taken into custody, and he still lives there.

The arrest is related to a 20 February 2023 incident at a Hanover Square location. Detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are guiding the investigation.

He was initially held on remand, but a court in London later ordered him to pay a £5 million security fee and was later released on bail.

The singer then moved to Europe to start his Breezy Bowl XX tour. Since then, Brown’s tour has ended.

After his tour concluded, Brown posted a series of highlights on his Instagram page and wrote: “TEAM BREEZY. I wanna say thank you sooooo much for the love and support all these years. I was able to accomplish my wildest dreams with you all.

“THANK YOU TO MY TEAM!!! Management @antthaladiesman, RYAN PRESS,Choreographer @dancer_boysmith ,DANCERS(THE FAMILY),WARDROBE, LIGHTING ,SOUND, SECURITY, TRUCK DRIVERS, RIGGING, MERCH VENDERS, LIVE NATION, EVERYBODY dammit.
