Before the transfer deadline on Thursday, Chelsea are continuing their discussions with Angel City regarding Alyssa Thompson’s signing.
No price has yet been determined, and Thompson’s departure would likely require a sizable sum, it is thought.
However, sources close to the player claim Chelsea, the women’s champion of the Super League, have spoken with her.
The 20-year-old was reported missing from Angel City’s National Women’s Soccer League game against Bay FC on Monday because of an “excused absence.”
Thompson’s contract with Angel City runs until the end of the 2028 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
