Charlotte Hawkins may have just found the perfect outfit to wear to office Christmas parties, as the GMB host wowed viewers in her £46 emerald green ‘classy’ satin midi dress
One of the trickiest outfits to pull off over the festive season is your office Christmas party look. Trying to strike the balance between festive and fun whilst still being smart and work-appropriate can be tricky, but luckily we’ve spotted one dress that nails the brief perfectly.
When Charlotte Hawkins wore her Emerald Green Satin Twist Front Midi Dress on Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, we instantly knew this was one that would work for all manner of Christmas parties. The dress hails from Next and has a price tag of just £46, making it an affordable pick, and you can re-wear it for countless occasions, from weddings and events to dinner dates and nights out.

Whilst Charlotte paired hers with some simple metallic heels to host the morning show, you could easily style it with some bolder platforms or a pair of knee high boots for parties, or even with some simple loafers for a more laid-back occasion. The emerald green colour is also perfectly festive without screaming “Christmas” at you, so you can wear it all year round with no issues.
If you prefer a more muted colour, Charlotte’s Satin Twist Front Midi Dress also comes in chocolate brown and black, with Rochelle Humes picking the brown colourway as one of her favourite pieces to wear this Christmas. Rochelle said: “This dress is genuinely a must. SO flattering, particularly after the tiramisu.”
Apart from its expensive-looking colour, the dress has a timeless, flattering cut that’ll suit all body shapes. The midi length hemline and floaty short sleeves keep it formal and modest enough for the office, whilst the twist detail on the front creates a flattering hourglass shape without being too fitted or clingy – perfect for hiding that post-tiramisu bloat like Rochelle said.
Shoppers were also delighted with the Satin Twist Front Midi Dress , with one saying: “Bought for new year, looks great, quite long and swishy and good quality for £46 – hides the tum too!”
Another wrote: “Bought this for a charity ball and had so many compliments. Lovely fit and material.”
Some found issues with the fit, however, with one reviewer saying: “I am usually a 14-16, so ordered both sizes in this dress. Unfortunately, both came up very tight and I returned them. Shame, as it’s a lovely dress.”
Whilst another agreed: “Poor fit, too tight around bust too loose around hips.”
However others loved the shape and design of the Satin Twist Front Midi Dress , with another happy shopper adding: “Beautiful dress, the fabric is beautiful and it hangs perfectly and is a great length for my height, looking forward to wearing this on one of my Christmas nights out.”
Someone else praised: “Absolutely love this dress! It’s the perfect blend of confidence and elegance. A true leader’s party wear, bold, classy, and guaranteed to make a statement.
