Lucy Charles-Barclay of Great Britain won her second T100 triathlon title in Oropesa del Mar, Spain, topping an all-British podium.
After winning her first T100 match in London last month, Charles-Barclay beat fellow Britons Kate Waugh and Jess Learmonth to finish in first place in Spain in three hours, 29 minutes, and 29 seconds.
Before easing clear of compatriot Waugh on the fourth of six laps during the run, the 32-year-old was at the front of the race in the swim and bike.
With three races left, the two now sit joint-top of the overall standings, matching Charles-Barclay’s catch late in T100 London.
Charles-Barclay praised the Brits’ performance, which came out strong today. I was confident in my riding. The other girls were also present.
I feel strong right now, and I think I’ve definitely gotten stronger as the season progressed.
Launched in January 2024 by the Professional Triathletes Organization and governing body World Triathlon, the T100 has shorter races than Ironman’s 3.5km swim, 180km bike and 42km run but longer than the Olympic distances of 1500m, 40km and 10km.
