When Irish actress Ruth Codd returned to TikTok, she had some depressing news for fans, but she still managed to deliver it with her usual sarcastic humor.
Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd has revealed she’s had her second leg amputation below the knee.
When the Irish actress’ right leg, which had been damaged playing football at the age of 15, failed to properly heal, leading to years of chronic pain and numerous surgeries, had to be amputated at the age of 23. However, she now has the same operation on the left.
She shot to fame making TikTok videos talking about her disability and other things, and was later cast in Netflix series The Midnight Club and The Fall of the House of Usher despite having no previous acting experience.
In a new TikTok video, the 29-year-old shared she had just had a second operation while speaking from her parents’ home. Ruth addressed the announcement with a witty nod to her usual witty manner: “Hi guys. So, I have some positive and negative news.

Ruth continued, “Good news – we’ve had a full circle moment,” adding that she went on to explain: “We’ve had a full circle moment.” In my parents’ home, I’m back creating TikTok content.
Because that room is upstairs, I can’t do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper any more. My second below-knee amputation has just occurred. Sadly, I am unable to use those resources at this time. There is a lot to unpack there for everyone involved.
Ruth then showed her followers her new wheelchair, which she joked she liked to call “Fat Tony,” and said, “She has the top speed of f*** all, especially if there’s a step involved.”
Fans quickly left comments beneath, expressing their admiration for Ruth’s wry humor. However, one joked that they were only there to display the floral wallpaper. We all want a second season of Midnight Club, but Ruth responded, “Another cracked, you see what I mean? “
While Rahul Kohli, Ruth’s co-star in “The Fall of the House of Usher,” cheekily remarked, “Excuses, excuses. Ruth responded, “How do I block someone twice? ” with this quip.
Others sounded confused if they watched without sound because TikTok’s captions had made it sound as though Ruth had said her second bologna amputation rather than her “below-knee amputation.”
Is this a joke, then? “A innocent TikTok user posed the question. She’s saying “Below knee amputation,” not “Bologna knee amputation,” as another helpfully explained commentator puts it, “is a city in Italy,” as it’s stated in the captions. A Bologna amputation is not a laughing matter, adds a third humorously.
Ruth, you gotta tell us what Paralympic event you’re competing in in order for us to hear it. She cleverly responded, “Rhythmic gymnastics,” before saying, “Girls stop being nice to me, it’s weirding out. “
Ruth was chosen to be a Faithful after she recently competed on Celebrity Traitors. However, in the fourth episode, Traitors Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, and Cat Burns voted her out despite being a fan favorite.
