Tory MP Michael Fabricant is said to have earned £30,000 for each of the four days he spent in the Celebrity Big Brother house and he’s been spotted back inside
Evicted Michael Fabricant has made a secret return the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The Tory MP popped back in as he made an early morning visit, hiding Easter Eggs while everybody was asleep. Dressed as a white fluffy bunny, we will see his unexpected comeback on tonight’s show.
It’s not a big surprise that he feels the need to lend a hand. He is said to have earned a whopping six-figures for his four days in the house, after reportedly being paid £120,000 to sign up. Making a cool £30,000 for every day he spent in the famous compound, he was quick to say yes to a few more minutes.
Michael was only a housemate for less than 100 hours before his exit. And while in the house, he managed to cause a stir after clashing with a few housemates including Trisha Goddard and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer. During the show’s shopping task, former pop star Chesney Hawkes asked the former politician his thoughts on immigration, which prompted Trisha to put him in his place.
Chesney shared his experience of being of Jewish descent. To which, Michael responded: “Jewish people when they usually come to this country believe, do in Rome as the Roman’s do. ” He added: “Do not come to this country if your aim is to change everybody to your way of thinking. “
Sparking outrage in Trisha, she immediately jumped in and asked: “Hang on! Are you slipping into Islamophobia? Because you’re going to have trouble. ” Defending his comment, Michael added: “Who mentioned Islam? ” And it was at this point Olympic champion Daley Thompson made a quick exit from the conversation.
Listening to Michael’s defence, Trisha told him, “It’s getting dangerous,” as she stood firm that Michael was not being misunderstood. Continuing with his defence, Michael said: “I’m trying to explain this country has benefited from wave upon wave of immigration. “
Meanwhile, fans wasted no time in commenting on the heated discussion. Taking to X, one person said: “Why is Trisha saying Islamophobia during Michael’s speech? ! He didn’t even say that. ” Another said: “Bit confused as to why Trisha deemed it appropriate to accuse Michael of Islamophobia when he never even mentioned Islam? “
Sir Michael served as MP for Lichfield in Staffordshire from 1992 until 2024. He also worked as vice-Chairman under former Prime Minister, David Cameron. It won’t be the star’s first stint on reality TV, having starred in Celebrity First Dates for Stand Up To Cancer in 2017.
The 74-year-old politician said he had initially expected to “loathe” the experience but had instead found that most of his fellow contestants were “lovely” – even if he didn’t get on with everyone. He backed drag performer Danny Beard to win the ITV show, which comes to an end on Friday.
