Hull City have appointed Sergej Jakirovic as their new head coach on a two-year deal, with the option of a further year.
The 48-year-old Bosnian joins the Championship side after a spell in charge of Turkish Super Lig outfit Kayserispor.
Jakirovic has managed in Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia, and was only appointed head coach of Kayserispor in January.
The former Bosnia defender led Dinamo Zagreb to the Croatian league and cup double in 2023-24.
However, he left Zagreb in September two days after overseeing their heaviest ever defeat, a 9-2 reverse at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
He is the third appointment at MKM Stadium since Liam Rosenior was sacked in May 2024 after guiding the East Yorkshire side to a seventh-placed finish in the Championship.
Katie Price has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Peter Andre and his new wife Emily, and what she finds “the most difficult” about co-parenting
Katie Price confessed to feeling ‘sad’ about the lack of communication(Image: Nordin Catic, Getty Images for The Cambridge Union)
Katie Price has opened up, admitting she feels “sad” over the lack of communication with her ex-husband Peter Andre, despite sharing two children.
The former glamour model, now 47, struck up a romance with the pop star on the hit show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! back in 2004, leading to a fairy-tale wedding at Highclere Castle the next year.
Yet, by 2009, their love story had turned bitter, resulting in a split. Katie recently disclosed that she and Peter do not speak, even though they co-parent their son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 17. Instead, the pair communicate through their legal teams.
Appearing on the Katherine Ryan on the What’s My Age Again? podcast Katie described co-parenting as “the most difficult thing”. Expressing her feelings about Peter and his new wife Emily, she said, “It’s sad, really. Now, we don’t even talk, even though I’d like to. I’m glad he’s with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it’d be weird if he went for someone like me.”

Katie shared that Princess is unable to picture her parents as a couple: “But what is funny, Junior and Princess. Mainly Princess, because Junior’s more like a bit more guarded, [Princess says] ‘I can’t imagine you and Dad together. You’re just so nuts, Mum. When I see you and Emily, you’re just so different. I can’t imagine you and Dad’.”

Katie Price opened up about the lighter moments of her past relationship on Paul Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, recalling to her daughter: “I said I was with your dad for six years. Trust me. We had a laugh, bantered together. We did.
“She said, ‘I just can’t imagine Dad being like that’. I said, but he was. He was like that. We did have a laugh. And, you know, she can’t believe that whenever he went everywhere or me, we were together with the kids. And we’d go as a family.”
Katie highlighted differences in parenting approaches: “Emily doesn’t do all that for Pete. I said, me and Pete just did it all together as a family. If we’d got you kids, you would come with us. Like, she goes, ‘I just can’t imagine it, Mum.'”.

During her emotional session on the podcast, Katie also detailed the accusations which led to her split from Peter Andre: “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.”
She expressed her frustration during their breakup, saying: “But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, that’s it. I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough. It got to a point where I went well f****** divorce me.”
Katie recollected the dramatic day of her separation: “And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids. That day, I’m at the airport, it’s all on Sky News, it wasn’t mutual at all.”
She said public perception differed from reality: “And then I redone a statement saying I don’t want to split with Pete, it’s Pete that’s splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.”
The mum-of-five opened up about the strains of co-parenting, sharing: “Behind the scenes, it’s the most difficult thing, but I realised you get to know what people are really like, and I’ve had it tough.
“But yeah, it is sad. Never ever sat down with him and spoke about it. We were kept apart…then all of a sudden, split and I think that’s where my independence comes from.”

After rising to stardom as a Page 3 icon in the 1990s, Katie has graced our screens in numerous TV appearances, including a two-year stint as a panellist on Loose Women.

Not just mum to Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, she’s also parent to Harvey, 22, from her past relationship with ex-footballer Dwight Yorke, as well as kids Jett and Bunny with former spouse Kieran Hayler.
Greta Thunberg’s younger sister Beata Ernman is pursuing a career in the arts and, ditching her famous surname, is trying to carve her own path away from her activist sibling
Greta Thunberg’s sister Beata Ernman steps into the limelight with her own career and political messages
Greta Thunberg and her loved ones are in the spotlight currently thanks to the Swedish activist’s recent bid to enter Gaza and provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians. The 22-year-old said on Tuesday that the Israeli regime kidnapped her and others aboard the Gaza-bound Madleen aid ship in international waters.
After being forcibly taken to Israel before being deported, Greta landed in France where she answered a few questions about her detainment to reporters waiting for her at the airport. The award-winning activist described the circumstances of her kidnapping as “quite chaotic and uncertain”.
She added: “But the conditions we faced are absolutely nothing compared to what people are going through in Palestine and especially Gaza right now. This is not the real story. The real story is there is a genocide going on in Gaza and systematic starvation.”

As Greta tends to international matters, her little sister is living quite a different life. As Greta was discussing her kidnapping on Tuesday, her younger sibling Beata Ernman, 19, shared snaps from a photoshoot on her Instagram Stories and promoted her musical releases.
Beata, who Greta once claimed “is the one who suffers” due to her humanitarian work, is seemingly trying to distance herself from her famous sister and carve her own path. Ditching her well-known surname and taking her opera singer mother Malena Ernman’s maiden name instead, Bea is pursuing a career as an actress, singer and model.

But Beata, like her sister, also has a political edge to her work. Discussing her latest single, I Found Your Father’s Gun, the teenage singer told her Instagram followers on Tuesday: “When people objectify girls, they reduce us to body parts — They treat us like multiple girls add up to one man. So in this song, I use their own language against them.
“I objectify him by sexualizing his father, to expose the absurdity, the cruelty, and the double standard, associating him with another man, to flip it, as if 10 men were treated like 1 girl. Beneath the metaphor is something real: Men need to stop taking advantage of girls who are too young to fight back. This song is what it sounds like when we do. When the object speaks. Twice as brutal as the offense itself, right? Right.”
Greta previously said her little sister suffered due to her activism work(Image: INSTAGRAM /)
After her milestone speech at the United Nations climate summit made her a household name, Greta – then 16 – told Dagens Nyheter how her “wonderful and strong” sister’s life had been impacted due to her activism.
“The one who suffers is my sister,” Greta told the Swedish news outlet. “She is 13 years old and she has been subjected to systematic bullying, threats and harassment. The people who write threats and hate to me do it to the whole family, even to her.”
Beata shared this snap on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday
“The difference between me and the people who are left at home is that I am always travelling, inaccessible. People don’t know where I am staying, where I sleep at night, where I am. I have no daily life. But for my sister at home, who tries to have a daily life … she is much more reachable.”
Beata has been active on her Instagram page over recent days, sharing several racy snaps with her 10,400 followers, but is yet to publicly comment on sister Greta’s involvement in The Gaza Freedom Flotilla, a humanitarian maritime mission.
The mission, led by the UK-flagged vessel Madleen, was organised by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) with the aim of breaking the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza and delivering aid. Setting sail from Catania, Sicily, on June 1, the flotilla’s journey was abruptly halted.
In the early hours of Monday morning, Israeli forces intercepted, boarded, and seized the vessel in international waters, preventing its arrival in the Gaza Strip and detaining those onboard.
Among the 12-member crew were European Parliament representative Rima Hassan and environmental activist Greta. According to Hassan, the cargo included baby formula, crutches, nappies, flour, medical kits, and rice.

TV personality and fashion favourite Frankie Bridge has once again proven why she’s a go-to for warm-weather style inspiration. In a recent Instagram post, she debuted a look that she hailed as ‘perfect’ for a city break – and best of all, every piece is from high street favourite River Island.
Giving us all the Italian Riviera vibes, Frankie stepped out in River Island’s White A-Line Poplin Midi Skirt, which costs £39. White cotton skirts dominated Instagram in summer 2024, and are very much back for 2025, making it a smart investment for anyone looking to build a capsule warm-weather wardrobe.
With its elasticated hem and classic midi length, the skirt is as comfortable as it is elegant, made from 100% cotton making it ideal for beating the heat. As we’ve learned from influencers over the last 12 months, it really is a versatile summer staple, with Frankie noting: “The skirt can be restyled SO many ways over summer.”

Elsewhere, New Look has this White Pleated Midi Skirt for £29.99, while Mango’s flared cotton skirt is £45.99, available in white, black or red. At Boden, the Double Cloth Smocked Skirt comes in at £66, but for something more budget friendly, M&S’sPure Cotton Shirred Midi A-Line Skirt is under £30. But the fact that so many high street retailers are stocking them cements them as a go-to trend for the season.
The 36-year-old paired the skirt with a Black Sleeveless Textured Trim Bandeau Top for £26. The beaded notch detail and side split hem add an elevated twist to the minimalist bandeau cut, which is an insanely sought-after silhouette this year.

Frankie shared her thoughts on the top, saying: “Love the top and the detailing.” She added: “If you’re on a city break then this is the perfect outfit. Stay cool in the heat but still look put together.”
Accessorising the look, she added a Black Mini Raffia Cross Body Tote Bag featuring a front flap with popper fastening, gold branding detail, and a convenient crossbody strap, as well as a pair of Black Toe Thong Wedge Heeled Sandals (£38), ideal for the petite 5’3” presenter with their 12cm heel.
Completing the look with the retailer’s £14 Black Cat Eye Slim Chain Sunglasses, Frankie commented: “I feel very chic in this, it’s a nice little dinner outfit.” And we couldn’t agree more, with both capsule wardrobe staples prime for styling with basically anything you already own.
Frankie isn’t the only ex-Saturdays singer that’s a fan of River Island, though. Rochelle Humes wore the brand’s Blue Seam Detail Balloon Leg Jeans, priced at £49 for an episode of This Morning last month. She told her fans: “There’s a new rule, we didn’t used to wear jeans but we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news to me. So these are River Island, they’re like a nice barrel cut.”
Sarah Cawood was a regular face on our TV screens in the 1990s, but now she’s living a very different life away from the cameras
Top of the Pops ran from 1964 until 2006(Image: BBC)
Sarah Cawood was one of the biggest TV hosts of the ’90s and a key presenter on Top of The Pops. But her life has changed dramatically two decades after her big break.
Sarah’s first major role was in children’s television for Nickelodeon in the ’90s, and just two years later she secured a presenting job on Channel 4’s The Girlie Show alongside Sara Cox. The programme ran for two series and followed a magazine format, featuring interviews, live music and stunts.
The show aired at the late ‘post-pub’ slot of 11pm on Fridays, aiming to be edgier than its competitors and capitalising on the ‘ladette’ culture that defined the decade. She then joined the revamped Live and Kicking programme for its final two years on air.

Her most significant role came when she landed a spot on Top of The Pops. After her stint ended, she went on to present various mini-series and one-offs, including co-commentating the Eurovision semi-finals in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
However, around this time, many of the big presenting opportunities began to dwindle, with Sarah joining Heart East Anglia’s breakfast show team for a year in 2014 before leaving to focus on caring for her children, reports the Daily Record.

In 2022 Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer – but thankfully she was treated and given the all-clear. Earlier this year, the star opened up about her health struggles on social media, expressing fears about her breast cancer returning.

“This is the reality of anyone who has had any kind of cancer,” she said. “I never struggled with health anxiety before but post-breast cancer it’s all-consuming and it wears me out a bit tbh.
“I have been feeling tired since the new year began and although it’s probably just life-ing, there’s always a niggling worry that it’s back.
“All I can do is carry on doing healthy things, moving my body, practising mindfulness and living each day with gratitude that I got to breathe again this morning.

“And remember, anything that doesn’t feel right: get it checked out. Early detection is key.”
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says his pro-European Union coalition has the mandate to govern ahead of a crucial confidence vote in parliament.
Tusk called the vote as he seeks to regain momentum after his ally Rafal Trzaskowski was defeated by nationalist Karol Nawrocki in the country’s presidential election earlier this month, prompting predictions of his government’s demise.
Tusk, whose fractious centrist coalition built around his Civic Platform party holds 242 seats in the 460-seat Sejm, or lower house, is expected to survive the vote, which could potentially trigger early elections, not scheduled until 2027.
“Governing Poland is a privilege,” Tusk told politicians ahead of the vote on Wednesday. “We have a mandate to take full responsibility for what’s going on in Poland.”
He listed higher defence spending and a cut in his government’s visa issuance for migrants as major achievements since he took power in October 2023 from the nationalist Law and Justice party (PiS).
But a win is unlikely to bring the “new beginning” the 68-year-old leader is hoping for after this month’s presidential race left his coalition rattled, raising questions over his leadership against a backdrop of surging support for the far-right in the country of 38 million.
Following the presidential election, there has been growing criticism that Tusk’s government has underdelivered on its campaign promises, failing to fulfil pledges of liberalising abortion laws, reforming the judiciary and raising the tax-free income threshold.
Tensions within the governing coalition, particularly with the Polish People’s Party (PSL), which advocates for socially conservative values and wants more curbs on immigration, could spell more trouble.
President-elect Nawrocki, an admirer of US President Donald Trump, is also an EU-sceptic who is expected to work to boost the opposition PiS party that backed him.
An SW Research poll for Rzeczpospolita daily showed that about a third of Poles thought Tusk’s government would not survive until the end of its term in 2027.
‘Is it the end of Tusk?’
Polish presidents can veto legislation passed by the parliament, a power that will likely hamper reform efforts by Tusk’s government, such as the planned introduction of same-sex partnerships or easing a near-total ban on abortion.
It could also make ties with Brussels difficult, particularly over rule of law issues, as Nawrocki has expressed support for the controversial judicial reforms put in place by the previous PiS government.
Ties with Ukraine could become more tense as Nawrocki opposes Ukraine’s membership of NATO and has been critical of the support for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
Nawrocki is expected to begin his five-year mandate formally on August 6 once the election result has been legally validated.
The election commission has found evidence of counting errors in favour of Nawrocki in some districts.
Parliament speaker Szymon Holownia, a government ally, said there was “no reason to question the result”.
