The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has warned that escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, now in a fourth day, pose grave dangers to diplomacy and nuclear safety and has urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint.
Speaking at an emergency session of the United Nations nuclear watchdog’s Board of Governors on Monday in Vienna, Director General Grossi stressed that the region is at a critical juncture.
“Military escalation threatens lives, increases the chance of a radiological release with serious consequences for people and the environment, and delays indispensable work towards a diplomatic solution for the long-term assurance that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon,” Grossi said.
The IAEA chief’s remarks came amid growing concern that the conflict could permanently damage efforts to revive nuclear talks with Tehran, already strained by years of mistrust and United States President Donald Trump’s torpedoing of the 2015 nuclear accord brokered by world powers with Iran.
Nuclear sites damaged
Grossi also delivered a technical update on the status of Iranian nuclear facilities after Israeli bombardments.
Natanz, Iran’s main uranium enrichment plant, was among the sites hit on Friday. While its underground section was spared a direct strike, Grossi warned that vital equipment may have been damaged due to a power outage triggered by the attack.
He noted that radiation levels outside the facility remained normal and, critically, there was no evidence of contamination spreading beyond the site.
“The level of radioactivity outside the Natanz site has remained unchanged and at normal levels, indicating no external radiological impact to the population or the environment from this event,” he said.
In addition to Natanz, four nuclear installations in Isfahan province were also damaged. However, the Fordow enrichment site, the Bushehr nuclear power plant and a reactor still under construction appeared unaffected.
IAEA personnel remain on the ground in Iran and are ready to resume full monitoring once the security situation allows, Grossi said.
Meanwhile, Iran’s government is facing pressure at home to take a harder line. A bill reportedly being prepared in parliament could pave the way for Iran to exit the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, a move that would deal a severe blow to global nonproliferation efforts.
EXCLUSIVE: Love Island alumni Malin Andersson is not a fan of the current series and has shared a few behind-the-scenes secrets from her time on the ITV2 dating show
Malin is opening up about her thoughts on the show(Image: missmalinsara/Instagram)
Love Island alum Malin Andersson, who appeared on the show back in 2016 for their second series, is not holding back when it comes to her thoughts on the current series. Now 32, the body positivity campaigner and mental health advocate says she watches the new Islanders with a very different lens.
“I’m 32 so I’m a similar age to them on there,” she says, “but I can see through it all completely now.”
Malin, who famously left the villa after being dumped on day 25 has since distanced herself from the Love Island world. “I don’t talk to any Islanders at all,” she admits.

“The girls lower their bar because of the show and that’s what makes it toxic. They’re not understanding their worth.”
She’s also not afraid to share some unfiltered behind-the-scenes secrets. “I was constipated at one point in the villa because I held it in for ages,” she laughs.

“Olivia Buckland [now Bowen] did the same. We used to go on poo watch and made sure no guys were near the toilet. One of us would guard, and Cara De La Hoyde [now Massey] helped.”
Though she doesn’t stay in touch with former castmates, Malin clearly remembers the realities behind the glam – and wants this year’s Islanders to remember their value. “It’s easy to get lost in the show,” she says. “But you’ve got to know your worth.”
Last week, Malin spoke out about hitting “rock bottom” after her time on the ITV2 dating show and called for it to be axed. “Love Island. It starts tonight…I’m quite shocked this show is still on air to be honest,” she said in an emotional statement on her Instagram Stories.
“I was on it 8 years ago, and in that 8 years I’ve turned pain into purpose and used my platform for good. Within the 8 years that have passed I’ve had to hit rockbottom to find a strength I never knew I had – and awaken to the truth of who we are.
“However what young Malin didn’t know was, how dangerous a show like this is – portraying toxicity as love, unrealistic body standards and women who maybe broken inside but wanting love for the wrong reasons – and thinking fame will save them.. and as for the men – similar things.”
Malin added that she wants a show that helps contestants “find love for ourselves first” before finding it in someone else. She added: “We don’t need a show making women especially feel bad about themselves – or fuelling eating disorders. That’s outdated now. It’s not it.”
Now, the star is a mum to baby girl Xaya(Image: Instagram)
ITV has introduced extensive duty of care procedures during the show’s run, with contestants being offered comprehensive psychological support before, during and after filming on the show.
They are also asked to pause any posting to their social media accounts while they’re on the show and to complete video training and guidance on language around disability, sexuality, race and ethnicity, microaggressions, mutually respectful behaviour in relationships and behaviour patterns associated with controlling and coercing behaviour.

Four people have been handed suspended jail sentences after being found guilty of committing hate crimes against Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr.
The quartet were found guilty of hanging an inflatable effigy of Vinicius Jr over a bridge near Real Madrid’s training ground in January 2023, shortly before Atletico Madrid’s Copa Del Rey match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
A banner above the effigy read: “Madrid hates Real”.
Three of the group were sentenced to 14 months in prison, while one was given a 22-month sentence for distributing images of the act online.
However, the sentences have been suspended after all four signed a letter of apology to the Brazil international, Madrid, La Liga and the Spanish football federation (Rfef).
Vinicius Jr has regularly been the victim of racial abuse since joining Real Madrid in 2018 from Flamengo.
The Brazilian, who has made 316 appearances for the club, was subject to racist chanting by Atletico fans during a La Liga match in September 2022.
The 24-year-old was targeted again later that month during a match against Real Valladolid, with five people later being handed suspended prison sentences.

Meghan Markle-loved glow-boosting moisturiser is perfect for hot weather(Image: Getty)
When the weather’s warm, like the current heatwave we’re experiencing this week, you might not feel like applying heavy serums and creams to your skin (and this might not be what your skin needs, either). Luckily, we’ve found a much-loved K-beauty formula now available at Boots that’s perfect for this time of year – and it even gets the celebrity seal of approval.
Earlier this year Meghan Markle launched a ShopMy page featuring some of her favourite fashion and beauty products. While this site has now been updated, we couldn’t help but note down some of her recommendations, and one of them was Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream. Recently launched into Boots, priced at £26 for a 110ml jar, this anti-ageing cream is also available in a 50ml pot on Amazon for £14.49 at the moment.

As its name suggests, Medicube’s Collagen Jelly Cream really does have a consistency like jelly – bouncy and refreshing – and contains 98% of hydrolysed collagen, which the brand says “offers an anti-aging effect to improve skin elasticity”. Having tried it ourselves, we can confirm that it feels lovely and cooling on hot skin; you could even keep it in the fridge for extra depuffing powers.
Shoppers have also been quick to praise how useful it is in the heat, with one Amazon shopper writing: “This stuff feels so good going on, especially living in the south in the hot summer, it feels so fresh!”.
“I’m finding it’s very nice to take a break from traditional creams and lotions, and in the hot and humid environment where I live this is a very soothing alternative moisturiser,” another agreed. “I’m also pleased it has niacinamide for evening out my skin tone and of course we all want (and need – at my age!) the collagen booster this contains as well.”
Meanwhile a Boots customer commented on how smooth and plump it left her skin feeling: “From the first application, this gel made my skin feel hydrated and plump. Having used it for a couple of weeks, my skin feels smooth and even toned.”

One person, however, mentioned that the plumping effects aren’t particularly long-lasting on them, writing: “Might be great for 20-something skin, but definitely not for 50-something skin. Does it temporarily make your skin look plump and glowing? Sure. But there is no real long-term benefit for skin and that plump, glowing look and feeling wears off after an hour or so, leaving your skin a bit tight and dehydrated.” If your skin is on the drier or more mature side, you might benefit from a more ‘traditional’ moisturiser such as something like Medik8 Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream, £48.

Other hot weather skincare buys to consider this summer include Milk Makeup’s new Cooling Water Jelly Ice, £28, Garnier Hyaluronic Acid Cryo Jelly Face Mask, currently £3.33, and the Brushworks Ice Roller, £11.99.
Die Hard star Bruce Willis’ daughter, Rumer, paid tribute to her dad on Father’s Day following his heartbreaking dementia diagnosis in 2023, which left his legion of loyal fans in shock

Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter, Rumer, admitted she had a ‘deep ache in her chest’ as she paid tribute to her dad on Father’s Day. The Die Hard star, 70, is being cared for by his family after his devastating dementia diagnosis in February 2023, which left his legion of loyal fans in shock.
Rumer often posts snaps of her dad, who she adores, on Instagram, and on Sunday told Bruce she felt “lucky” that he was her father. However, sharing a montage of photos of the pair, including a recent black and white image in which she hugs the actor tightly, she admitted she wished she’d asked the star “more questions” about his “successes and struggles” while she could.

Captioning the post, she wrote: “Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I’m doing and what’s going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all.”
Rumer continued: “But I know you wouldn’t want me to be sad today so I’ll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you’re my dad and that you’re still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories.”
Revealing Bruce’s close bond with her daughter, Louetta, the mum-of-one concluded: “I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad, happy Father’s Day. Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers.”

Hollywood A-lister, Bruce, is known for his iconic action-packed roles in movies such as Die Hard, Red and Glass. However, the star’s life is very different now after stepping away from the spotlight.
Towards the end of his career, he was due to star in one of his last action roles, Out Of Death. The star had a huge part in the film, however it was suddenly made smaller, with director, Mike Burns, writing in an email to the screenwriter: “We need to abbreviate his dialogue a bit so that there are no monologues, etc.”
We now know Bruce had been diagnosed with aphasia, with the then 67-year-old’s family later revealing the star would be retiring from acting. The cognitive disorderaffects a person’sability to speak, understand, read and write.
The following year, in February 2023, it was confirmed that Bruce’s condition had progressed and that he had a definitive diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, aka FTD.
FTD is a progressive brain disease, which causes parts of the brain to stop working and deteriorate over time. Depending on where it starts in the brain, the condition affects behaviour as well as the ability to speak and understand others.

In an October 2024 interview with Town & Country, Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, revealed that her husband’s language had changed. However, the actor had a childhood stutter and Emma initially assumed the sudden changes in his speech were to do with that.
“As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young,” she said.
Adding that she didn’t know if Bruce was aware of his condition or not, Emma, who recently posted a video supporting National Caregivers Day, said: “I say that FTD whispers, it doesn’t shout. It’s hard for me to say, ‘This is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over’”.
Meanwhile, Bruce’s youngest daughter Talullah heartbreakingly revealed that her dad finds it so difficult to communicate, she knew he would never be able to make a Father of the Bride speech at her wedding. Opening up about the painful revelation, Tallulah said the family initially thought Bruce’s behaviour was down to hearing loss from all the explosions on the set of Die Hard before telling Vogue magazine: “Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally. He had had two babies with my stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, and I thought he’d lost interest in me.”
Tallulah finally realised her father’s health was declining when she was at a wedding and the father of the bride gave a heartfelt speech. She shared: “Suddenly I realised that I would never get that moment, my dad speaking about me in adulthood at my wedding. It was devastating,” she recalled. “I left the dinner table, stepped outside, and wept in the bushes.”
