David Moffett, the former head of the Welsh Rugby Union, resigned from a US-based business that had promised significant new investment in Scarlets only two months ago.

Scarlets made the announcement that House of Luxury LLC (HOL) had invested a sizable sum of money in the United Rugby Championship team in August 2025.

Former Wales fly-half Dan Biggar and Moffett were on the company’s board, but the former WRU chief has resigned from HOL “within a day.”

A resolution that HOL reached would eventually grant it a 55% stake in Scarlets. No further details have been made available since the initial announcement, and a search of Companies House’s board records no recent changes.

In 2003, Moffett led the transition that saw the formation of Welsh rugby’s regional era, which started with five teams.

Liam Payne’s bombshell Logan Paul interview as he trashed One Direction bandmates

Following their contentious podcast episode with the late singer, Louis Tomlinson, Payne’s close friend and former bandmate, recently made an offensive comment to Logan Paul.

Louis Tomlinson recently hit out at Logan Paul as he reflected on his controversial podcast with Liam Payne. Speaking recently, Louis said: “I f***ing forever despise [Logan Paul], horrible, horrible little f***er.”

The former One Direction star sat down with the controversial US influencer in June 2022 for what was perhaps his most unexpected interview. During the podcast episode, Liam spoke about a string of incidents, including a time when a former bandmate allegedly threw him against a wall.

One Direction fans were quick to criticize Paul for posting the video online, which led to outrage over the podcast interview. Liam also opened up about his split from singer Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of his son, and discussed his relationship and fights with his bandmates in the episode.

However, Liam claimed that he “didn’t articulate” himself as well as he could during the conversation shortly after the podcast aired. He claimed on social media that he “wouldn’t normally comment” on issues. He stated, “Guys, I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff, but it’s difficult to let it slide when it’s your family.”

They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn, which I responded to, but looking back, I may have not properly articulated my feelings. I was claiming that despite our disagreements, I will always, always be on his side. That reflects family. I’m going to be with Zayn forever because he’s my brother.

What exactly did he say in the interview is what you need to know.

Zayn Malik is referred to as a “d**k” by Liam.

Liam publicly expressed his animosity toward Zayn Malik throughout the Logan Paul conversation, calling him a “d**k.” He stated, “There are many reasons why I dislike Zayn, and there are many reasons why I’ll always, always be with him.”

Additionally, Liam claimed the family dynamics of Zayn weren’t supportive of the performer. Liam said, “If I had to go through what he went through, with his growth and whatever else, then I would have to go through what he went through.” In response to the speculation from 2021 that Zayn had struck his mother-in-law, Yolanda Hadid.

“My parents support me excessively, to the point where it irritates me.” In that regard, Zayn was raised differently. You can always look at the man and say, “Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d**k,” he continued.

At the end of the day, however, you can only understand what he’s been through and whether or not he desired to be there. However, Liam was once more proud of Zayn and praised the Bradford-born musician for his solo work during a livestream on social media.

“Hate” Louis Tomlinson

While Liam and Louis Tomlinson were together on One Direction, he revealed that he “hated” Louis. He explained to Logan that Louis was a “wilder” lad and that he wasn’t used to “rowdy” lads. He desired a wild side. He possesses this spirit.

Payne admitted to having “the band we hated each other,” but admitted that Louis is his “best mate right now.” It was close, like when two people came to terms with arguing.

Louis and Liam remained incredibly close and frequently backed one another despite their disagreements. Liam attended the premiere of Louis’ documentary All of Those Voices in London and later raved about his bandmate.

shocking revelations about One Direction and her success as a solo artist.

Liam also made a number of other claims about One Direction as a whole, not just about the individual band members. According to Logan, Simon claimed that Simon actually created the group as a result of his promises to him. that I will put this into practice in two years.

“So he kind of worked out around the rest of my face and started working on him. This story has never been told before. He continued to say that, out of all the band members, he had had the most successful solo career.

Discussing his 2017 solo debut Strip That Down, he declared: “I think it outsold everybody within the band, and I was the last to go [solo]. And I never expected that.” Harry Styles’ solo debut Sign Of The Times reached number one in the UK and number four in the US

Liam’s remarks about crimes

In a podcast, Liam bragged about scraps, ominous threats, and offences he’d committed. He appeared to have adopted a toughman image. When asked if any of the band members had ever actually struck him, Liam responded, “There was an argument backstage and one of the members (unnamed) threw me up a wall.

“So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again”. Whilst discussing his feud with Justin Bieber, he disclosed that he’d told the Baby singer: “I’ve done all the things that you’ve done and I’ve never been caught for any of them.”

Bieber was detained and charged with resisting arrest in 2014 for driving while intoxicated, driving while on an expired license, and resisting arrest.

opening up about Cheryl’s breakup

Another contentious statement came out of the interview, in which Liam claimed Bear was to blame for his breakup with Cheryl Tweedy. He remarked about fatherhood when he said, “It’s different. To be honest with you, it ultimately destroyed our relationship.

He did, however, claim that “all the right reasons” led to the conclusion of their relationship. Liam admitted to not wanting to be famous when he discussed his son’s future.

Villarreal shown ‘lack of respect’ over cancelled Miami game

Villarreal claim that La Liga has shown them “a complete and utter lack of respect” for the cancellation of their American international game against Barcelona.

The Spanish football federation (RFEF) approved plans to move Villarreal’s game against Barcelona to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on December 20th.

The decision was later overturned on Tuesday following the backlash, with La Liga players protesting by refusing to move for the first 15 seconds of matches last weekend.

Villarreal claim they were scheduled to meet with representatives for a meeting on Thursday due to a lack of communication and poor organization, and that they were informed that they had to reschedule the game “minutes before” their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Villalreal expresses its deep disappointment with La Liga with regard to the poor management of the game, which will ultimately not be played in the United States, in a statement issued by the club.

The La Liga organization called the team informing them that the game had been postponed just before kick-off against Manchester City. The best way to communicate it together would be to keep the information private, though.

“Minutes later, La Liga decided to issue a unilateral statement announcing the cancellation of a game between Villarreal and a team of such importance, demonstrating a total and total disregard for the club, as well as a lack of sensitivity and empathy,” the club’s surprise.

Villarreal stated that they would accept the game with the condition that those who had season tickets could receive free travel to Miami and receive financial compensation for missing the Barcelona game.

The cancellation of the game, according to Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish league, is a blow to the competition.

Spanish football has lost the chance to advance, establish itself internationally, and advance its future, Tebas wrote on X.

The governing bodies’ decisions, which annually destroy national leagues, threaten the true traditions of European football, while “the defense of tradition” is invoked from a narrow-minded and provincial perspective.

La Liga will continue to work with rigor and conviction to keep Spanish football competitive, standing up to those who want to end it while always respecting its roots and ensuring its viability.

Villarreal claimed that the game’s cancellation was a missed opportunity despite their criticisms of how the match was handled.

Villarreal regrets that La Liga, as the organizer, did not better oversee the game’s management and that Miami could not host the game, they said.

Tebas added that the league will continue to try to play games abroad and that Spanish football “deserved to look to the future with ambition rather than fear.”

Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal said playing in a foreign game would “stamp on the competition,” while Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said his players were “not happy” with the initial decision.

Villarreal lost to Manchester City 2-0 in the Champions League game against Villarreal, who had earlier made the decision to reschedule the game in Miami.

Although the Spanish Super Cup has been held in Saudi Arabia for the first five years, it would have been the first time a top-flight league match had taken place in the United States.

Football Supporters Europe, a fan organization, claimed that the level of opposition to La Liga’s plans was “däffning.”

The world of football is firmly persuaded by La Liga’s defeat: These poorly thought-out initiatives are destined to fail. The foundation of the game must now be destroyed, a statement read.

Spanish football is far from having a single voice, according to analysis.

La Liga made the bold move of putting together a league game between Villarreal and Barcelona in Miami when it first announced its intention to host the game as a result of a high profile partnership between the two clubs.

The project was intended to be a new frontier for a game with global relevance because it was fully compliant with federation regulations and competition integrity.

However, the controversy that ensued demonstrated just how far Spanish football can still go without using one voice.

The cancellation procedure has left a lot to be desired. Villalarreal claimed that the timing had a negative impact on both their and the competition’s reputation. One senior player said, “We found out 10 minutes before kick-off]in Tuesday’s home Champions League game against Manchester City.”

The players themselves argued against the process rather than the concept, which was one of the players’ most vocal critics. They had been asking for months how logistics would operate: Would there be a scheduled 72-hour rest between fixtures? Would their insurance cover travel? What is the distribution of payments?

Teams held symbolic protests when no one responded. Listen to us, that’s what they were trying to say.

Opposition quickly grew throughout Spain. Many clubs expressed doubts, the project’s transparency and logic, and details regarding compensation for clubs remained a mystery. Villalarreal even claimed in public that the deal wasn’t for them, while Barcelona insisted that they were already paid right away when they boarded the plane to Miami.

Real Madrid’s opposition to the Miami game grew even more loud as they filed a second complaint with the country’s national sports council (CSD) to stop it. Playing a league game abroad would “violate competitive fairness,” the club claimed.

A brand-new discussion has erupted. La Liga agrees with the first suggestion, but not the second, that alters the competition is one thing and alters it another to tamper with or corrupt it.

The Spanish federation offered its support during this legal and institutional tug-of-war, while the government scurried cautiously through the regulatory maze, eager to see how things turned out.

The decision to hold off on is more than just one cancelled game for La Liga, Villarreal, and Barca: it represents a setback in efforts to create new revenue streams and uphold international competition.

By opening new commercial and sporting opportunities abroad, the league insisted that the project would create long-term value for all parties involved, including fans, players, and clubs. It stressed the importance of Spanish football’s continued international expansion.

‘Narrow-minded’ – La Liga boss unhappy US game is cancelled

The La Liga match between Barcelona and Villarreal in the United States was canceled, according to the president of the Spanish league, Javier Tebas.

Although the Spanish Super Cup has been held in Saudi Arabia for the first five years, it would have been the first time a top-flight league match had taken place in the United States.

Balague says, “Not the end of the story.”

Guillem Balague, a renowned expert in Spanish football, does not believe the story is over, despite the decision to cancel the game.

While Javier Tebas is in charge of La Liga, he will try to win just one game, he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

He believes that the project is intended to promote Spanish football, as the statement claims.

It complied fully with federation rules. The project’s position was chosen for reasons unrelated to the integrity of the sport or regulations.

Balague thinks the match was canceled in part because of finances.

There may have been insufficient funds, or the money’s intended destination, but there hasn’t been much confusion, he continued.

We’re not getting any money for it, Villarreal claimed, but Barcelona claimed, “We’ll get money as soon as we board the plane.”
