UCL: Lopez, Rashford On Fire As Barca Rout Olympiacos 6-1

In a 6-1 win over Olympiacos on Tuesday, Fermin Lopez scored a hat-trick and Marcus Rashford scored twice to put Barcelona back on course for the Champions League.

Lamine Yamal, a teen star, was also on target for Hansi Flick’s side, who had previously faced Paris Saint-Germain in their previous European match.

Ayoub El Kaabi scored a penalty saver for the Greek champions after Lopez double, but Santiago Hezze’s red card made it possible for the injured-hit Barcelona to record a high scoreline and place them temporarily in third place.

Without Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and other regulars, Flick’s team was unable to win the game’s opener against Real Madrid on Sunday in La Liga.

After scoring his treble, Lopez told Movistar, “We needed a win like that, we ended it feeling good and now consider the Clasico.”

“I’m appreciative of the team and want to keep this dynamic.”

In a tight Catalan derby, Barcelona almost lost ground right away against the Greeks despite just squandering a win over Girona on Saturday.

Wojciech Szczesny, a veteran goalkeeper, had to get down well to deny Daniel Podence after Alejandro Balde gave the ball away.

Balde quickly made amends in the attack as Barca carved out a new opening for the visitors thanks to his driving performances.

After Dro Fernandez and Balde connected on the left, Rashford volleyed narrowly over.

Balde was back in action as Barca jumped out to a lead and fed Lopez, who had played Yamal.

Konstantinos Tzolakis, the teenage winger, was on hand to bundle the loose ball home.

Barca controlled the game thanks to Rashford’s free kick into the side-netting, but their lack of defensive focus has been a constant issue this season.

Their lapses in concentration are concerning because Sunday’s Clasico is beckoning.

Olympiacos lifeline was short-lived.

After being played in by Dro on his Champions League debut, Lopez scored his second after 39 minutes.

The midfielder almost scored his hat-trick in the opening period of the second half, but Tzolakis whipped his header past the post from Yamal’s cross.

Moroccan striker El Kaabi gave the Olympiacos a commanding lead into the second half.

The forward headed home after Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia got the ball, but Garcia gave Olympiacos a penalty for handball.

El Kaabi slotted past Szczesny to give his team a chance, but their chances vanished as a result.

After making an appearance that appeared innocent, Barca’s Marc Casado hit Hezze, who received a harsh second yellow card, to the ground.

After tumbling under Tzolakis’ challenge, Rashford won a penalty and Yamal sent the wrong way to give Barca a 68-minute lead.

Rashford scored two goals in six minutes for the Catalans as they ran out of steam while on loan from Manchester United.

After scoring twice in their win at Newcastle, Rashford twice overcame Tzolakis with clinical low near-post finishes to score four goals in the Champions League this year.

‘We’ll keep fighting’: Mahmoud Khalil appealing deportation

NewsFeed

As a result of the Trump administration’s efforts to deport him, Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist and US resident, appeared before a federal appeals court in Philadelphia. His case, which is connected to Columbia University’s campus activism, has become a test for political dissent and free speech.

Why are so many people opting out of parenthood?

We discuss the BirthStrike movement and the wider decline in population.

We explore the BirthStrike movement and the wider phenomenon of declining populations in this episode. Why are parents so frequently choosing not to have children?

We also discuss the controversial efforts of governments to reverse the trend and what it means for human resources, health, and the planet as a whole. Is a population decline a turning point or a chance to reevaluate how we live?

Lawyers urge US appeals court to uphold Mahmoud Khalil’s release order

Lawyers for Mahmoud Khalil have asked American appeals judges to keep the lower court’s decision preventing the Palestinian solidarity activist from being detained in immigration.

After the hearing on Tuesday, Khalil told supporters outside the courtroom in Philadelphia that his case is proving to be a “test for everyone’s rights” and that the US government is deporting him due to his activism at Columbia University last year.

He claimed that there is “no immediate risk” that he would be taken back into custody.

No one should be prevented from speaking out for the rights of immigrants all over the world, Khalil said.

Government lawyers are suing a three-judge panel on the court of appeals to overturn the release’s order, alleging that the New Jersey court with jurisdiction was unable to hear the case.

Khalil, who is a legal permanent resident, is the first prominent Palestinian rights activist to be detained and whose immigration status has been challenged due to his activism on campus.

The activists’ claims that the president’s administration targeted hundreds of students for deportation were denied by the activists, who claim they supported “terrorism” and spread anti-Semitism.

The Trump administration has been using an immigration law provision to legalize the crackdown to deport non-citizens whose presence has “adverse foreign policy consequences” for the US.

At a virtual briefing on Tuesday, Bobby Hodgson, assistant legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), described the government’s claim that it has broad deportation authority on foreign policy grounds as “wrong” and “unconstitutional.”

“What our arguments really boil down to is that ideas are not illegal in the United States, and the government cannot use a hazy immigration law to confine people to holding opinions that they disagree with,” Hodgson said.

Khalil was detained by immigration authorities in Louisiana in March, and he was unable to give birth to his first child.

His immigration case was not settled until the court’s decision in June to release him. His detention was challenged by a legal proceeding known as habeas corpus.

The immigration system is currently running a separate deportation case.

In order to bolster the deportation case, the US government has also accused Khalil of feigning to mention UNRWA in his visa and Green Card applications.

A judge upholding the government’s request to remove Khalil from the country last month.

Immigration judges don’t represent independent courts like the constitutional judicial system do in the executive branch.

The Board of Immigration Appeals is currently hearing an appeal against Khalil’s immigration case.

On constitutional grounds, the board’s decision is likely to be appealed to a circuit court, which is a component of the traditional judicial system.

The legal saga is unlikely to come to an end with the immigration case and the habeas corpus petition facing both sides’ appeals.

However, for the time being, Khalil and many others in similar circumstances remain free as a result of district court decisions.

A US judge determined last month in a separate, more serious case that the Trump administration’s crackdown on Palestine solidarity activists was unlawful because it sought to silence Israel’s constitutionally protected free speech rights.

What did we learn from Rohl’s Rangers unveiling?

Media PA

Danny Rohl, the head coach of the Rangers, and Russell Martin, his successor, had their first press conference at Ibrox just over four and a half months later.

Given Martin’s chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day tenure, the scope of the task he has ahead is well documented.

Thelwell and Stewart, a much-maligned duo, included the former Sheffield Wednesday manager, chairman Andrew Cavenagh, and Stewart, the former manager of the club.

Wining is everything in Rohl’s “big headline”

In Rohl’s first appearance before the Scottish media, one thing became clear: Rohl is aware that he must win matches and win them quickly.

Given that Martin’s reign as tanker’s successor only lasted 17 games and 123 days, I was curious what kind of time frame the new man thinks is appropriate for him to turn around the vessel he once infamously referred to.

Rohl’s message was fairly straightforward, deftly avoiding a direct response that might increase pressure later.

He said, “Hopefully as soon as possible.” This is crucial, he said.

You have less time in this industry, you know. Although it’s possible to talk about the long-term vision, we are aware that the short-term is all about winning. I demand this, exactly.

“Pressure is standard”

Danny Rohl poses for photographs at IbroxMedia PA

After his final game in charge, Martin demanded a police escort to take him out of Falkirk Stadium.

When things don’t go well, we’ve seen how toxic things can turn into at football clubs. These days, protests are almost a necessity for both sides of Glasgow’s matchday experience.

I questioned Rohl, the club’s youngest head coach, about his potential abilities to cope with, never mind thrive in one of the most demanding positions in British football.

He said, “I believe this business is under constant pressure.” You must pick that up quickly, they say.

I’m 16 years old, but some guys might even mention my age. Although I had the great opportunity to work for Bayern Munich as their assistant coach, I also understood what it means to be a head coach and the demands placed on you.

Thelwell supports Chermiti’s appointment and the signing of his own son.

Thelwell received a lot of questions from the media pack.

Fans aren’t convinced that Robbie is qualified for the position, but there has been much praise for his son’s appointment as head of recruitment.

He defended and explained the decision to relocate Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox, though.

According to Thelwell, “It’s always uncomfortable to hear, but I think we all agreed when we decided to appoint Robbie that he would be seen in a particular way.”

“We want to bring the very best talent here to Rangers, in reality.”

Robbie didn’t need my assistance in football, according to my opinion of his career and circumstances.

He began his career as a senior scout at Aston Villa before moving to Norwich City as head of scouting before being promoted to player pathways manager.

Two Premier League clubs were interested in taking him before we hired him. Talking with Patrick, Andrew, and [vice-chairman] Paraag Marathe about this situation was what we did right away.

“Robbie probably went through a more rigorous process than anyone else who is employed by this football club,” I said with a smile.

I’m confident that he will work for this football club on an equal basis to be successful, and I look forward to seeing how he shows that he’s going to be a top employee for Rangers.

After failing to score in 24 appearances for Everton, Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who signed for Rangers for an initial fee of £8 million.

Portuguese youth international was brought to Merseyside from Sporting for a significant sum of money, once more in a £15m deal, by Thelwell.

He was asked if he would continue to support his multi-million-dollar signing, who hasn’t scored in seven games for the club.

“Yes, very much,” Thelwell said. Youssef Chermiti has a lot of potential, in my opinion.

“In any way, shape or form, I’ve never doubted him.” Danny, again, will help Youssef get the most out of him.

He has a young talent, and it’s still early days for him, which takes some time.

Stewart is aware of the fans’ “frustration and pain”

Given the vitriol that some of the club’s own supporters have directed at him, Stewart was also in the media’s firing line.

In the Sandy Jardine stand, a banner awaited him and Thelwell to pack his bags before they were delivered to him during the recent draw against Dundee United.

Stewart continued to pursue the issue, much like his athletic director.

No one is happy with the results this season, he said, and I fully understand the frustration and hurt the supporters are feeling.

The boardroom mirrors the pain and frustration they experience.

As the chief executive, I fully understand that there must be a solution to those frustrations.

A press conference that is a Rohls-Royce?

Danny Rohl walks past a picture of legendary former Rangers manager Walter SmithSNS

After less than two years in charge of Sheffield Wednesday, Rohl’s relative youth and relative insecurities of the British game made things all work out fairly well.

He smiled broadly from beginning to end and engaged quickly and eagerly with the assembled media, if he was nervous, if he didn’t.

As he entered the press conference room at exactly 15:30, the renowned German for punctuality and efficiency was present right away.

He answered questions with a lot of detail and had excellent English. Fans will enjoy his desire to win first, and then play nice football afterwards.

He made it clear that he was going to start working right away without making any mistakes. He was appointed late on Monday, but he’s already had his first training session and expressed his satisfaction with the players’ “intensity.”

He’d better get used to the intensity. He is now in the spotlight of a disloyal Glasgow. Celtic has an eight-point start under his leadership, while Rangers are 13 points clear of Hearts as leaders of the Premiership. There is no wasting a second.

He claimed he enjoys challenges. also equally.

Alex told Metro: “We’re all devastated. She was on set just the week before and, obviously, her voice and her character and her sense of creativity were such a huge driving force of the show in terms of the source material.

” She would okay everything, or we would hear that things have changed because she didn’t think that certain things characters do are quite right or representative of her view of the characters. But we also really want to honour her and try and do our best to keep making the show as good as possible. “

He wrote, “So sorry to have lost our wonderful Jilly,” in the caption. I’m so incredibly appreciative of getting to know her. My life was completely altered by this magical woman.

She was such a generous spirited person to be around, aside from the incredible wealth of joy, comfort, and excitement her writing has provided to so many.

She portrayed her hero Rupert in a way that was so kind and encouraging to me. I’m so happy I saw her on the other day, and she reportedly said she was proud of me last time.
