Amanda Holden has thrown a Beverly Hills inspired party for her daughter Hollie to mark a new era for the teen. Hollie, 13, is heading into Year nine this coming September and is also changing schools.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge pulled out all the stops for the special occasion as she rented a VIP bus for Hollie and all of her school friends to arrive in style to the party. The actress took to her Instagram page on Thursday as she shared a video of the party which took place in a glamping tepee tent in the garden.

As well as this Hollie and her friends enjoyed a meal in the garden – which was covered in pink and green balloons, green cardboard cut out palm trees and pink and white striped rubber rings to add to the summery theme – as the group sat on colourful pink and green pillows in front of a long table laden with plenty of delicious plates. A sign was put up for the occasion which read: “Hollie’s goodbye for now…”

Hollie and Amanda’s guests were also treated to delicious ice creams as the BGT judge hired an ice cream van to come and visit her lavish home. The guests were also treated to a sleepover in the stunning tepee tents, complete with comfy, plump roll out mattresses and tray tables which each had personalised cups and towels on and were each decorated with a vase of flowers and a tiny lamp each.

The guests were also gifted their own personalised denim jackets to top off the lavish celebrations. As Amanda gave a glimpse inside the adorable and swanky garden party, with the video on her Instagram, she wrote in the caption: “A new era for our #HRH she’s changing schools!!! To a truly fabulous one closer to home… Roll on year 9!!”

She added: “We did a little au-revoir party as even though she won’t be seeing them every day her friends will stay her friends!! and it goes without saying that me and the mum’s will forever be drinking rosé and enjoying life as normal!!

“Thank you to the people below – everything was bought and paid for, but they all went above and beyond to make this a truly special afternoon in the sunshine.”

The company who helped set up the event, called Muddy Boots, took to their own Instagram page to reveal the the brief for the event was “Beverly Hills vibes”.

Amanda is mum to 13-year-old Hollie and 19-year-old daughter Lexi with her husband Chris Hughes who she has been married to since 2008.

This comes after Amanda was left embarrassed as she made an awkward admission on her Heart Radio show. She revealed, as she sat with Jamie Theakston, that she had accidentally been flashing her electrician.

Speaking on Wednesday, Amanda said that her back garden was being renovated and that a time lapse camera was installed to help understand the layout. But, in a funny turn of events, Amanda said she didn’t realise the camera was recording and had been naked in her garden as well as flashing her breasts to her husband.

She said: “We are having our garden done over the summer and I thought it would be really fun to put a time-lapse camera over the whole of our garden.

“He [the electrician] said ‘oh well I’ll have to look at what we’re doing for all the angles are right on that [time lapse]’. Yeah he said it’s been going for the last couple of days and I went ‘I am always naked in my back garden’.”

Amanda added: “No word of a lie, I have definitely been naked and then for a joke the other day, I was sorting something out in the garden and my husband waved at me, from the bedroom window, and I flashed my boobs at him.”

Jamie Theakston then simply asked: “What’s wrong with you?” Amanda responded: “Because I thought this is funny! And I went ‘woo-hoo!’ like that.”

Amanda added: “I had no idea! Because it was all stuck to a drainpipe which is black and the camera’s black, I had no idea it was up and now Andy’s going to be reviewing this footage and I need it all deleted!”

Bilbao’s Alvarez fails drugs test for alopecia medicine

Athletic Bilbao defender Yeray Alvarez says he has been provisionally suspended for “unintentional” use of a banned substance used to treat alopecia.

The 30-year-old Spaniard failed a doping test after Bilbao’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester United in the Europa League semi-finals on 1 May.

He said he had been taking the medicine as part of his treatment for hair loss after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016.

Alvarez, who has made 257 appearances for the La Liga club, said he “couldn’t believe it” when he was informed of the test, adding it was a “very hard blow” to take.

“After studying the case, we have established that I tested positive because I unintentionally took a hair loss prevention medicine containing a banned substance,” Alvarez said in a social media post.

“The disciplinary procedure is currently under investigation and subject to confidentiality so I am provisionally suspended and am not authorised to make any further public statements.

“I very much regret this situation but, with the support of the club, I am working on my defence in the belief that I will be able to return to the field of play as soon as possible.”

Uefa have told BBC Sport they will not comment on the case until a final disciplinary decision has been made.

An Athletic Bilbao statement said: “Athletic Club wishes to express its full support for Yeray Alvarez at this time and its complete confidence in the bodies charged with resolving the case.

Why there is a lot at stake for Scotland v Fiji

SNS

The spotlight, and eight of Scotland’s star players, may be on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia, but in Fiji in the small hours of Saturday there is a lot at stake.

Scotland are in Suva for the first time since 2017, and it matters. Yes, because it is a Test match against a strong side.

But more than that, it could help set the trajectory for Gregor Townsend’s side in the run up to the 2027 World Cup.

The pool-stage draw is in December, which means the summer internationals and autumn internationals in November are the final chances to collect precious ranking points.

Scotland out to avoid pool of death

Scotland know more than most the significance of getting up the rankings before the World Cup draw, given they ended up with defending champions and eventual winners South Africa, and a formidable Ireland team in 2023.

It ended in an exit at the first hurdle.

Scotland are currently ranked seventh, between Argentina and Australia, with Fiji in ninth.

Points are awarded for victories and lost for defeats, but there’s a catch.

An away win is worth more than a home win, and a win against a side above you is more valuable than one against a nation below you.

Two away victories are crucial for Scotland at this stage, then, while a defeat against a lower-ranked nation would be extra costly.

With Argentina visiting Murrayfield in November, Scotland have a chance to get themselves into the top six.

That would mean being a top seed in one of six pools, given the World Cup’s expansion to 24 nations for 2027.

Flying Fijians present stern task

The incentive is there for Scotland to register a victory, and the 14 changes Townsend has made from the win over the Maori All Blacks reflects that.

Kyle Steyn, Darcy Graham, Grant Gilchrist, captain Rory Darge, Jamie Ritchie and Matt Fagerson are all in from the start.

However, Fiji are stacked with talent and playing in front of their own in Suva.

It is also a very different side to the one shorn of stars which was demolished at Murrayfield in November.

They led Australia right to the wire last week, before conceding in the penultimate minute to lose 21-18.

One of their tries in that game came from a magnificent run from Toulon winger Jiuta Wainiqolo, who scored 11 tries last season for his club.

The exploits of the destructive centre Josua Tuisova – ‘The Bus’ – are also well known – it’s fair to say his opposite number Tom Jordan may have sore shoulders after Saturday.

And Salesi Rayasi, a former New Zealand sevens player, also scored on his debut last week and plays at full-back. Fiji have threats everywhere.

Scotland need no reminder of what awaits them. Back in 2017 on Townsend’s first tour, a Leone Nakarawa-inspired Fiji won with a combination of the brutal and sublime.

“Their biggest strength is their physicality,” Townsend said.

“They are probably the biggest, most powerful men in world rugby. More so than even the South Africans.

“They combine speed with raw power, their big hits in defence and contact clears.

The teams

Fiji: Salesi Rayasi, Kalaveti Ravouvou, Sireli Maqala, Josua Tuisova, Jiuta Wainiqolo, Caleb Muntz, Simione Kuruvoli; Eroni Mawi, Tevita Ikanivere, Mesake Doge, Isoa Nasilasila, Temo Mayanavanua, Lekima Tagitagivalu, Elia Canakaivata, Viliame Mata.

Replacements: Samuel Matavesi, Haereiti Hetet, Samuela Tawake, Mesake Vocevoce, Albert Tuisue, Sam Wye, Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, Vilimoni Botitu.

Scotland: Kyle Rowe, Darcy Graham, Cameron Redpath, Tom Jordan, Kyle Steyn, Fergus Burke, Jamie Dobie; Rory Sutherland, Ewan Ashman, Elliot Millar Mills, Marshall Sykes, Grant Gilchrist, Jamie Ritchie, Rory Darge (capt), Matt Fagerson.

Fiona Phillips ‘doesn’t know her husband’ as he gives heartbreaking health update

Martin Frizell, husband to former broadcaster Fiona Phillips, shared a heartbreaking update on his wife’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease on This Morning

Fiona Phillips’ husband explained in a heartbreaking interview on This Morning that she “doesn’t quite know that I’m her husband.”

Martin Frizell appeared on This Morning on Friday (11 July) to discuss his wife’s memoir, Remember When: My Life with Alzheimer’s, which was published in June.

He sat down with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary to share an insight into Fiona’s current state, admitting she now struggles to remember who he is.

“She does recognise me most of the time. She doesn’t quite know that I’m her husband, but she knows who I am,” Martin, who has been married to Fiona for 28 years, heartbreakingly told the ITV hosts.

Martin revealed that Fiona has anxiety but would “love to be” at the interview with him. He also added: “She’s got a secondary problem that causes her to be in pain a lot, which adds to the confusion.”

He went on to recall a recent incident where Fiona had mistakenly thought he was trying to kidnap her, as she failed to recognise him while they were out by their home.

“In the book, there’s a picture of her at the end of our road. The most recent picture I took, only a few weeks ago. She’s looking great, she’s smiling, she’s got her coat on. What you don’t know is, she thought I’d kidnapped her,” he said.

“This was us going out, because you get all sorts of delusions, because you get so worked up. She’s saying ‘I want to go home’.”

He added that Fiona occasionally says she wants to “go home to her parents,” but she doesn’t have “the heart” to inform her that her parents are no longer around.

Explaining his approach during these moments, Martin told Dermot and Alison: “Well, what you do is, you say ‘Let’s get our coats on, let’s get our shoes on’, we go out round the block a couple of times and come back in. She says ‘Oh, I’m home now’.”

Fiona was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in 2022 but didn’t publicly share her diagnosis until 2023. Both of her parents and her uncle also had the disease.

Martin admitted that Fiona had long feared she would be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s due to her family’s history. He said on This Morning: “She knew this disease was going to come knocking at some point.”
