The Walking Dead’s Lennie James ‘stopped talking’ when mum died aged 11

Lennie James, a bestselling author and actor, is best known for his roles as Morgan Jones and Fear the Walking Dead in the television series.

Lennie James, the star of The Walking Dead, claims that he “stopped talking” when his mother passed away when he was just 11 years old. The Bafta-winning actor rose to fame while portraying Morgan Jones in the iconic television series.

The 60-year-old has now opened up about his childhood and how, at the age of 11, he lost his mother, Phyllis. Due to not having a father around in his life, he was then moved to a children’s home in south London with his brother Kester. Lennie has now spoken about the situation on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs and how he and his brother dealt with it.

The actress remarked, “I stopped talking, and as a result, I had the back of my brother’s head again because he kind of stepped in front of me and kind of looked out for me.” Because it was now just me and him, social services may have been involved.

Lennie explained that he visited a number of child psychiatrists and child psychologists to find out why he wasn’t speaking.

He continued, “I remember speaking with a social worker because I would make myself known to my brother and speak through him, and she said that they are very concerned about me because they need to know what I’m feeling, and why won’t I talk.

What do you want your brother to say, I recall my brother saying? He says, “He’ll talk when he’s ready, and then you’ll ask him to shut up,” and he was probably correct.

Lennie claimed that he and his brother “made a mistake” in the home where the kids resided. Because the two kept their friendships, they were able to maintain both of their relationships and attend the same university.

Lennie entered foster care at the age of 15, which served as inspiration for his Bafta-nominated drama Storm Damage, which was sold years later and led to the sale of the children’s home.

For his portrayal of Barrington Jedidiah Walker in Bernardine Evaristo’s novel Mr. Loverman, the actor won the leading actor award earlier this year, Bafta.

Carmel, a 74-year-old man from Antiguian, and his wife of 50 years, Carmel, who suspect Barry has been having an affair with her with other women, were the subjects of the television series.

Lennie stated that he wants to “challenge himself and work on a comedy next” in terms of his upcoming work. He stated that he hopes to be able to “snake” himself a “big” part in his upcoming role.

BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds can hear Lennie’s full interview.

Romeo Beckham confirms romance with Kim Turnbull after family feud

After being spotted holding hands with their ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull in Paris, Romeo Beckham has since publicly stated that he is back with her.

Romeo Beckham has officially put an end to speculation over the status of his romance with Kim Turnbull, after the pair hinted at a reunion earlier this week. The second eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham allowed his actions to speak volumes, as he confirmed that he was back with his ex-girlfriend by being pictured holding hands with her while in Paris.

The aspiring footballer wore a black leather jacket and loose-fitting black pants while wearing all black. A matching hat and matching shoes completed his look.

Kim and Kim exchanged hands as they strolled through the romantic French capital while opting for oversized denim jeans and a black leather jacket.

Due to their split six months ago due to a dispute that is believed to be going on, the couple hasn’t been able to reconcile. Soon after David’s 50th birthday celebration, things started to get heated between the two.

Due to the claim that she had dated Brooklyn at the time, it was believed that Kim was the subject of the drama that Romeo and his older brother, Brooklyn, sparked.

According to reports at the time, Kim denied she had anything more than a “school friendship” with Brooklyn but his wife Nicola Peltz reportedly had an issue with Kim and felt “uncomfortable” being around her. Nicola has reportedly been blamed for initiating the feud, but these claims have not been confirmed.

Romeo and Kim posed for a selfie together last week, making fun of their relationship. Kim is seen posing in a large jacket with the hood up while posting it on social media. While closely behind her, Romeo was caught wearing a beanie hat.

The couple has previously wrangled in unfavorable circumstances with their relationship status. They were seen at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix earlier this month, and Romeo liked one of Kim’s posted bikini photos shortly afterward.

An insider told The Mail at the time of their split that “Romeo and Kim are both young and enjoyed themselves immensely, but at that age, things don’t always go on forever, so they decided to break up.” Since then, they have gotten along, and they’ve even played at the same venues.

It’s a shame, the source continued, “especially since David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy, but it wasn’t.” They had a friendly exchange a few weeks ago, and things have continued.

The feud between Brooklyn and his family does not appear to be thawing any time soon as he snubbed the premiere of his mother’s Netflix premiere of her documentary.

He renewed his vows with Nicola without his family present, and he did so in response to his father’s 50th birthday celebrations.

Granchester’s Robson Green reveals first tattoo at 60 and special meaning behind it

In a brand-new show, Robson Green braves the iconic Camino de Santiago in Spain, and he was so inspired by his journey that he had an inking to remind him of it, just like many other pilgrims have done.

Granchester star Robson Green has had his first tattoo at the age of 60. The Geordie actor decided to get inked after completing a spiritual ancient pilgrimage in northern Spain for a new TV show. He walked more than 90 miles along the famous Camino de Santiago (The Way of St James) and many of those who complete the trek choose to get a lasting reminder of their achievement in the form of a tattoo.

On the spur of the moment, when he finally reached his destination, the Soldier, Soldier star decided to follow suit by getting one of a scallop shell on his upper arm. Robson joked: “That definitely wasn’t in the script! I have loved this pilgrimage on the outside but for me it’s been more about the journey within.

The actor continued, “The walk seems to leave an indelible mark on anyone who walks it, so that many pilgrims choose to do so before they leave Santiago by getting a Camino tattoo. And I’m not one of them, as it turns out.

“I have the tattoo to prove it, and it gets under your skin,” says the tattoo artist. The walk was going to be a memorable experience, in my opinion.

Robson braves the legendary Camino in his new TV series The World’s Most Amazing Walks airing on U and U&Yesterday. He will be seen tackling treks all over the UK and Europe but admitted his favourite was in Spain.

The walk dates back to the 9th Century when it is said the remains of St James – one of Jesus’ apostles – were discovered in Santiago de Compostella. The Camino is actually a network of trails across Europe which end up in Santiago in north Spain.

The Camino Frances, which is the most popular hike, can take six weeks and covers 500 miles. Robson chose to complete a 90-mile journey that would take him from O Cebreiro to Portomarin, Melide, Argua, and finally Santiago.

Along the way, he stopped at hostels that have become overnight lodging for half a million walkers who pass through them annually during his six-day journey on foot.

Robson loved the story behind the scallop shell sign, so he decided to use that design on his arm because the trek features many symbols for walkers to follow the route.

The scallop shell is my favorite symbol, he said, and images of it were everywhere because pilgrims collected them from the Galician coast as evidence of their journey from Santiago years ago.

The ridges on the shell, according to legend, represent the routes that lead to Santiago, but the shell was used as a drinking vessel or a food bowl.

“The people who do this had a goal, and they were all there for many reasons. The emotional response was profound when they succeeded in their goals. I got a tattoo from the rest of them because I was so moved by them.

When he came back to the UK, he went straight into filming the final series of Grantchester and kept his inking secret. However it got revealed when a guest star on the drama, where he plays cop Geordie Keating, spotted it being covered up by the make-up artists.

Robson continued, “I had to show my shoulders in a scene while filming Grantchester.” And I was spotted by one of the actors’ guests who saw the scallop shell.

“Oh, you walked the Camino,” he said as he went. ‘Buen Camino ‘ I’m thus a member of the Camino club. Without the cameras, I’ll definitely be returning.

Six stars tipped to replace Tess Daly and Claudia on Strictly after on-air tears

There is rife over who will take the coveted roles now that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have confirmed that they will be leaving Strictly Come Dancing after this year.

Tess Daly choked back tears as she addressed her exit from the Strictly Come Dancing live on air alongside fellow soon to be ex host Claudia Winkleman.

La Voix made a number of jokes about the off-screen upset during a night of high drama. While Vicky Pattison chose not to run for the newly vacant hosting positions.

Vicky said she was unsuitable to front the show, due to the family friendly element. She said this week: “If they wanted me and and (fellow contestant) Angela Scanlon to do it, they’d have to move it post-watershed, that’s for sure. But of course we would love it.”

Vicky also shared that she thinks the end of Tess and Claudia’s stint fronting the show is “devastating news” for viewers, but she does think the pair “deserve” to ge their weekends back. She told The Sun on Sunday: “My husband sent me through Tess’s statements. It’s devastating news. Tess and Claudia are such consummate professionals, beautiful women inside and out.

But I bet they enjoy spending weekends with their families at home. It deserves it. Tess, 56, and Claudia, 53, both admitted that they had always planned to leave together, and they both shared a joint statement confirming their exit earlier this week.

They stated in a joint statement that Strictly was a “absolute dream” and that we have enjoyed working together on Thursday (October 23). We had planned to leave together before, but now it seems appropriate.

“We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day.

When we say the final “keep dancing,” we will cry, but we will keep saying it to one another. Possibly while eating some pizza while wearing tracksuit bottoms at home. “Tess and Claud.

Who else might be chosen because Vicky has decided to leave her and is now being considered for a successor, according to the news sources?

Janette Manrara and Fleur East

Fleur and Janette, who are already co-hosting Strictly It Takes Two, are the current favorites for the role, with 3/1 odds for taking over the main show. Zoe Ball and Hannah Waddingham, who have already presented Eurovision and the Olivier Awards, are the other stars who are expected to take the place at 3/1.

Roman Kemp

Roman, who hosted The One Show, already has a strong presence on the BBC. If producers decide to change things up a little, he has the potential to change the format and audience. His odds are 5/1.

Rylan Clark

Rylan might be the obvious choice to take over after hosting It Takes Two and having a lot of experience in a live TV setting. His quick wit, humor, and general popularity with viewers wherever he turns his hand are also pluses for bosses. He currently has a ratio of 5 to 1.

Emma Willis

Emma has always been a fan favorite when she turns her hand to anything and is no stranger to the demands of hosting live shows. Her decades of experience as a reliable face on television have given her a 10/1 rating, especially with her most recent co-hosting of Love Is Blind with husband Matt Willis. If Matt and Matt were to marry, we might even see a marriage.

Rose Ayling-Ellis

Former EastEnders star and Glitterball winner Rose was a huge hit with viewers when she cruised to victory with Giovanni Pernice. Her popularity makes her an obvious choice and a former successful contestant returning to front the series would be a wonderful touch. Her odds currently stand at 12/1.

Police Exhume Bodies Of Victims Allegedly Murdered By Native Doctors In Delta

A shocking alleged murder involving two self-styled native doctors has been discovered by police personnel.

In the Owa-Alidinma community, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, the native doctors are accused of killing their patients and dumping their bodies there.

Isioma Ugbeje, 22, and Liberty Friday, a 20-year-old passenger, were discovered missing after visiting a community shrine for spiritual counseling.

According to reports, Friday had traveled to the herbalist’s residence to get some assistance, and he was taken on his motorcycle by Ugbeje and taken there by himself. Their families raised an alarm and reported the incident to the police when both men failed to return home.

Detectives began an extensive investigation that resulted in the discovery of the victims’ decomposing remains at the shrine after receiving a petition from the Agbor Area Command on October 14, 2025. The premises’ soak-away pit was where the bodies were buried.

According to Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, two suspects, both half-brothers Amechi Okwuokenye (20) and Smart Okwuokenye (26), were detained in connection with the killings.

Amechi was allegedly kidnapped while hid inside a shrine refrigerator, according to Edafe. He admitted to being a kidnapped, demanded a ransom of at least $10 million, and he and his brother had taken Friday and the motorcycle rider to the shrine during interrogation. They allegedly murdered both men and dumped their bodies in a soak-away pit when the plan failed.

He explained that the shrine’s evidence, which included blood stains and ritual objects, suggested that ritual or organ harvesting practices may have contributed to the crime.

The family of Liberty Friday and the wife of the murdered motorcycle rider have also made an appeal for justice.

The suspects would face charges, according to the Command’s official statement, which assured the public that justice would be served and that the suspects would face legal action.

Ryan Gosling leaves mums swooning at school gates after moves to UK

The mothers of Hampstead are practically drooling as Ryan Gosling chats with other parents as he charms his way through North London, making his children’s mothers drooling.

Hollywood star Ryan Gosling has left stunned mums “swooning and drooling” at the school gates, after making the move from Los Angeles to London. He and wife Eva Mendes swapped the sunny climes of Santa Barbara for Hampstead, where they have settled with their two daughters.

In a joke called the “Donald Dash,” the 44-year-old, who is from Ontario, Canada, reportedly fled the US to escape the country’s political climate. The heartthrob has now continued to charm the wealthy residents of North London while he goes about his daily affairs.

The family initially relocated while Ryan filmed for upcoming Star Wars film Starfighter. But they have set up home in the UK, where fans are expressing their delight at bumping into him.

A gobsmacked fan took to Instagram’s threads to tell the world about their chance encounter with the star. They wrote: “Today’s unexpected adventure, Ryan Gosling holding the door open for me at a cafe in West Hampstead.

” What a gent!… Really quite unexpected!

Another local told the Mail: “Yes, he’s here and so delightful chatting to everyone at the school gate – such a lovely man. And everyone can’t stop talking about how good looking he is, the mums are practically drooling over him.”

Meanwhile, the pair’s largely private home life has been an ongoing source of speculation, with the couple remaining tight-lipped over their family. In an interview with the Times, 2 Fast 2 Furious star Mendes, 51, gave a rare insight into their move last year.

We’re in Notting Hill, so we have access to those communal gardens, Oasis fan Mendes said. It’s incredibly magical, to be sure.

The signs were present, even though the couple never had a major wedding announcement. In 2022, Mendes sported a tattoo of “de Gosling” on her wrist.

When asked about the tat on Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, she revealed she had got it “years ago”. “But who says we weren’t already [married],” Mendes told People. “I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman.”

However, rumors were confirmed when speaking on Australia’s Today Show in 2022. Eva casually admitted that “everyone here is very welcoming, and my husband Ryan is here, and we are having the best time.”

When the couple started a family together, they kept things quiet. In 2014, they gave their daughter Esmeralda Amada, and Mendes revealed to Violet Grey that the name was based on her favorite book.

People reports she told the outlet: “Ryan and I both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and we just think it’s a beautiful name.” She added: “Amada was my grandmother’s name. It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish.”

Eva said that she and Ryan were also on the same page when it came to keeping their kids away from the spotlight as much as they can. She added: “Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair, but that’s our reality. So Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could. And my pregnancy was the first opportunity to give her that. It’s such an intimate time for the mother, too.”

Amada Lee, Mendes and Gosling’s second child, was born in 2016. Our oldest is named Esmeralda Amada, while my grandmother’s name is Amada. We chose a few names for our new child, but we didn’t think they were her when she was born.

She continued, “We tried a few more even that morning, and we came up with a few more.” What about Viviana, you ask? But we kept returning to Amada.
