To discuss pending issues with Washington, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and US President Donald Trump have agreed to extend a looming trade deadline by “a few more weeks.”
Sheinbaum confirmed on Monday that she spoke with her counterpart on Saturday.

As the two nations continued discussions in an effort to reach a new trade agreement, the US agreed in July to stop a 30% increase in tariffs on some Mexican goods for 90 days. This week was the end of that pause.
In her regular morning press conference, Sheinbaum stated that the two nations were aiming to resolve 54 outstanding trade barriers and that we had been in agreement that November 1 wouldn’t arrive without us having spoken.
She said, “We’re almost finished with this problem.”
Sheinbaum’s comments led to a 0.29 percent increase in Mexico’s peso, which increased to 18.38 per US dollar.
Thanks to the 2020 US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade pact due for review next year, Mexico has been largely spared the brunt of tariffs from the Trump administration.
Sheinbaum stated earlier in October that she was confident that Mexico would reach a favorable trade agreement with the US and that she planned to reveal new developments in projects like those involving electric cars, semiconductors, satellites, drones, and an artificial intelligence lab.
Sheinbaum said, “We keep working, and there is no situation in the near future where there might be a special tariff on November 1.”
Trump announced last week that he would end trade negotiations with Canada, citing frustration with how the negotiations had turned out.

Gene Gallagher’s son, Liam, has some significant career news. The 24-year-old model has been a force for the band Villanelle in the music industry.
In the past, the trio have supported Gene’s dad on tour, as well as recently completing their own headline tour across the nation. But now, they’ve been offered a huge slot – supporting Miles Kane across the United Kingdom next year.
The rocker, who was born in Wirral, will travel to promote the release of his sixth studio album, Sinlight In The Shadows, and will be playing tracks for fans starting January 24th, 2019. Following the release of their debut single, Hinge, Villanelle, which is made up of Gene, Jack Schiavo, and Ben Taylor, celebrated.
The band stated in a statement about their upcoming support date: “Very pleased to announce we will be joining @mileskane on his 2026 UK tour.” This Friday at 10am, tickets will go on sale.
Fans immediately shared their joy on social media, with one saying, “Best news to wake up to.” “Get in! ” is a second phrase. I adore Miles Kane without reservation. That gig will be fantastic. He’s been seen a few times, most recently at Southampton’s The Engine Rooms. Unbelievable enthusiasm, awestruck crowd. Fantastic line-up and a great pairing.
A third line, “My worlds are colliding,” added. In the meantime, a fourth typed, “Yess, we can’t wait for this see you there.” Genevieve described the single as “Hinge is about paranoia derived from sleepless nights.” When I wrote it, I was probably hungover.
Ben continued, “Anyone can play it, but no one can play it like we can,” adding that “Hinge is just simple and high energy.” The young men will back Miles on January 30 in cities like Glasgow, Sheffield, Southampton, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, and the legendary Roundhouse in Camden, London.
Sunlight In The Shadows, a song by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, has 12 tracks of psychedelic rock n roll elsewhere. The album delicately toes the line between raw, energetic rock and laid-back crooning anthems, all with a sprinkling of Miles’ signature rippled tremolo guitar, lush, screeching guitars, and is a lot of fun.
Miles describes the process of creating Sunlight In The Shadows as “all roads, over 20 years, have led here.” The Easybeats, Motown, and Dan and I mix together to create this record.
We were chatting and talking about references because we were so similar to each other’s tastes, which is frightening, and the music reveals that same passion. I’m eager to take it out on the road. It needs to be played live on the album.
The album’s eleven original songs were written by Kane and Auerbach in collaboration with a number of incredible musicians, including Patrick Carney, Daniel Tashian, and Patrick McLaughlin, the drummer for The Black Keys.
As part of the guitar army on the record, Auerbach sings backing vocals and performs on every track alongside British garage futurists Little Barrie, guitarist Nick Bockrath of Cage The Elephant, and guitarist Tom Bukovac of Cage The Elephant.

The King would be making a ‘serious mistake’ if he were to agree to Prince Andrew’s reported ‘brazen’ demand over his living arrangements, an expert has claimed.
After days of mounting pressure, Andrew is said to be in talks with Charles’ representatives about leaving his Royal Lodge home following the furore over the ‘peppercorn’ rent for the 30-room mansion, where he has lived for more than 20 years. Andrew attempted to draw a line under years of controversy over his links to Jeffrey Epstein and following allegations he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre, by giving up his dukedom and other honours ahead of the publication of Giuffre’s posthumous memoirs.

The prince, who vehemently refutes the allegations, was instead stifled by criticism that has focused on the property where he has effectively resided since 2003.
Now it has been reported that Andrew will give up the 30-room Windsor mansion but has requested the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Frogmore Cottage.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife, Sarah, who also lives at Royal Lodge, may relocate to Adelaide Cottage after it is vacated by the Prince and Princess of Wales next month.
William, Kate, and their children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – are due to move to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom Grade II-listed residence in Windsor Great Park.
And if the reports that Andrew and Fergie are wanting two separate properties to leave Royal Lodge are true, royal expert Jennie Bond says it “beggars belief”. The former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror : “I think it would be a serious mistake if the King and the Palace agreed to such a brazen demand.
You must consider whether Andrew and Sarah are completely ignorant of the general public. The fact that several prominent members of Parliament have lied about having a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein is a real outcry from the public and some lawmakers.
“But they appear to believe they are entitled to two magnificent homes in Windsor Great Park, which are almost entirely hidden from view, almost in the shadow of the Castle itself,” the source said.
The Palace should completely reject this outrageous demand. With their own resources and money, Andrew and Sarah are adults. Instead of relying on the Crown Estate’s goodwill and the King, they should be forced to take their own lives.
According to the pair’s friends, Sarah “feels like she deserves a royal home to see her years,” according to The Sun.
According to reports, the King has long attempted to persuade his younger brother, who lives with Sarah in Royal Lodge, to leave.
After Harry and Meghan moved out, Charles reportedly made an offer for Frogmore Cottage to Andrew in January 2023, but the former duke rejected it.

Hugh Jackman made his red carpet debut with his famous new girlfriend, just months after finalising his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. The two were married for almost 30 years.
On Sunday (26 October) Hugh and musical theatre icon Sutton Foster attended the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Song Sung Blue together, marking their first red carpet appearance as a couple. The 57-year-old actor turned up in a classic black suit and smiled with his arm around Sutton, who wore a black satin dress.
Although the two have previously posed for photos on red carpets during various date nights, they have never done so. They both appeared incredibly content and at ease together. Only four months after his and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee’s divorce was finalized, he received this news.

His marriage to Deborra-Lee ended in 2003, seven years after the pair first met. At a performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie, in which Sutton played the lead, the two Broadway legends cross paths. They would dance and reconnect more than ten years later during Hugh’s 68th Tony Awards ceremony.
They were announced as co-stars in the musical The Music Man on Broadway in March 2019. Due to the pandemic, rehearsals were halted until December 2021, but they resumed in February that year.
Their friendship whilst working together was extremely close, with Sutton referring to herself as the “luckiest woman in the world” for getting to work with Hugh, and Hugh getting the audience to sing Happy Birthday to Sutton on her 47th birthday.
After 27 years of marriage, Hugh and Deborra-Lee made the announcement of their breakup the following year. In 1996, the two had two children who had been adopted.
However, they issued a statement in September 2023 saying: “We have been blessed to have spent almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. We have chosen to separate to pursue our individual growth because our journey is now changing.

In a mutinous retribution attack, over ten people were killed.
North-western Nigeria is where Kebbi State is located.
No fewer than 10 herders have reportedly perished in a reprisal attack on Sunday at a Fulani settlement in the Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Following the killing of a vigilante member by the Lakurawa bandits, a local informed Channels Television that the area was the site of a reprisal attack.
Over ten of the Fulani who lived in the area were killed, and several of them suffered injuries in a raid carried out on them by some suspected community members who were present during the raid.
The reprisal attack was “performed in error,” according to a source. They believed that the vigilante man’s death was brought about by the Fulani.
They attacked them in their settlement, they said. Several of them suffered injuries, while the others received more than 10 fatalities. He said that they are still looking for victims of the attack who might have been killed.
He added that Umar Tafida, the deputy governor of Kebbi State, and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association’s leadership were present in the area to offer condolences to the families of the victims of the attack.
Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to attend the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS), which is scheduled for this week.
