Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly fumes as Vernon Kay shares candid admission

BBC Radio 2’s Vernon Kay has lifted the lid on his home life as he shared how Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly was recently left annoyed as he began a new routine

BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay has disclosed how his latest lifestyle overhaul has come at a price, confessing that it has left his wife Tess Daly fuming.

With both stars set to make their television comebacks this evening, it’s a behind-the-scenes drama that has sparked recent tension between the married pair.

Chatting to listeners during his regular BBC Radio 2 show earlier this week, Vernon confessed how he’d recently allowed his exercise regime to slip and was determined to get back into shape.

He said: “I started again yesterday, I’m very very proud of myself, because I’ve been speaking to Janine and I’ve been telling Phil ‘I’ve got to get going again, I’ve got to get going again’.”

Nevertheless, while he had become lazy with his fitness habits, he’s now completely committed to returning to his previous ways.

He confessed that Tess is far from thrilled, as she worries that his fresh regime will bring a number of disruptions across the household. “Tess is like, ‘Oh no, not again. Here we go: protein milkshakes every morning, smoothies, we’ll be on the multi-vitamins.’”

Revealing another item he’ll be incorporating into his updated fitness regime, he continued: “Oh skipping ropes will be arriving through the post all that kind of stuff.”

Vernon and Tess initially crossed paths by accident almost 25 years ago when they were challenged with recreating Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time.

Since that moment, they have married and welcomed two daughters together, Phoebe and Amber. Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Tess and Claudia Winkleman will be gracing our TV screens tonight as they team up to present Strictly Come Dancing. After the series’ kick-off last week, this weekend will see the first pair eliminated from the contest.

Later in the evening, Vernon will join Kelly Sutton to bring highlights from the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating the 100th birthday of the Grand Ole Opry radio show live in London.

A host of well-loved acts will be performing throughout the night, including Luke Combs, Breabach and Mumford and Sons.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to our screens this evening (Saturday, 4 October) on BBC One at 6.20pm.

Nick Knowles’ wife Katie Dadzie rushed to hospital amid hysterectomy complications

Kate Dadzie, the wife of Nick Knowles, was taken back to the hospital after complications from her most recent hysterectomy caused her to be in excruciating pain.

Nick Knowles has revealed that his wife, Katie Dadzie, has been rushed back to hospital after complications from life-saving surgery.

The DIY: SOS presenter explained that his wife was suffering from complications from a recent procedure and shared a photo of her in the hospital. “Poor @KatieAKnowles is once more in the hospital.

“Despite having her lifesaving surgery last week, she is still smiling despite the discomfort and medical procedures. He wrote, “When she’s not crying with the pain,”

Nick praised his wife’s resilience, saying, “I can’t tell you how much my wonderful wife has been through over the past few months, and I don’t mean just living with me.”

She overcomes the difficulties, the painful recovery, the medical procedures, and the start-from-scratch encounters with enormous resilience and determination, along with a few tears. She deserves my absolute best.

After years of experiencing endometriosis-related pain, Katie, 34, had her hysterectomy this summer. She had a serious setback when her previously stitched cervix ruptured, but she recovered 12 weeks later.

She described the ordeal as “the most terrifying day I’ve ever had” and went over severe symptoms like internal bleeding, breathing difficulties, and crippling abdominal pain.

Sharing an update on Instagram, Katie wrote: “The bit where they took my cervix and sealed it up ruptured which basically meant my insides went rogue, with crippling abdominal pains, difficulty breathing.

She continued, describing her horrifying symptoms, adding, “As well as incredibly painful gas, blood like Moses parting the Red Sea, fluid, and even my bowel where it definitely didn’t belong.”

Katie continued, “Saturday when it happened, I was in such great pain that I couldn’t walk or move and I just cried alone in the kitchen from 2 to 5 in the morning.” I was so painful that I almost passed out.

She continued, adding that a team of six surgeons and two anaesthetists worked together to immediately place her in need of emergency surgery.

She said, “Thankfully, the surgeons managed to get me back into the theater, fix everything, and stitch me back together.”

I’m very sore, bruised, and exhausted, and so devastated that my recovery journey starts all over again, Katie said in a photo of herself while lying on hospital pillows in a grey jumper. But thankful it has been fixed, as the agonizing pain of Saturday night was.

She has previously mentioned that she had endured years of pain as a result of her women’s health issues, and that she had recently returned to work after having her first hysterectomy, which she claimed may have had had an impact on her recovery.

Why beating Arsenal shows Man City title hopes more than ’empty words’

Andree Jeglertz’s message to his Manchester City players that they are capable of winning the Women’s Super League would be “empty words” without any significant results to back up it up.

His side, however, are already producing, squandering just one point from leaders Chelsea with a strong 3-1 victory over fellow title rivals Arsenal on Saturday.

Only five games into the WSL season, which is almost a quarter of the way through the 12-team league’s campaign, are still in Jeglertz’s final months.

City hasn’t won the WSL in nine years, finishing second six times since 2016, including losing the title due to goal difference in 2023-24.

However, Jeglertz’s faith in his players is unwavering, and City are now looking like real contenders despite losing to Chelsea by 2-1 on the opening day of the season.

“I can say to the team in front of the team, “I believe we can win the league and defeat every team,” he said, but if we don’t, those words can turn into empty words,” he said.

It’s crucial for the group to feel confident that we can challenge and defeat them.

Jeglertz, Jeglertz, says it’s crucial to succeed in a process.

Before Iman Beney’s dramatic late winner at Joie Stadium, Arsenal had come back from two-goal deficits.

It gave City their best winning streak since November 2024, extending it to four WSL games.

After five games without a win against the European champions, it was City’s first victory over Arsenal in the WSL since February 2023.

In their previous three games, Arsenal dropped seven points from a possible nine, but City has quietly and effectively run their business.

“Of course, I’m pleased with the outcome.” We kept on believing, Jeglertz said, “The game was won.”

The team still believed that we would create more goalscoring chances even when they scored 1-1 and 2-1.

No player ever considered, “Oh, we need to protect this result.” This group won’t have that happening. That opinion is crucial.

When faced with setbacks, the team demonstrated that they don’t do their own thing; they simply keep going. They conceded two goals.

City have been poked at in the past, perhaps because they lack the bite and ruthlessness of Chelsea, who have won six times in a row.

They played possession-based football well from the days of former manager Gareth Taylor and occasionally looked stale and rigid.

Since Jeglertz arrived in the summer, he has since added some unpredictability and adaptability.

Yui Hasegawa’s midfield pushes him further up the pitch, and his attackers’ fluid play on the frontline has been excellent.

Khadija Shaw received the ball in the middle, where she is most damaging, while full-back Kerstin Casparij advanced against Arsenal.

Jeglertz said, “It’s about making sure we keep the Manchester City identity of being possession-based, but it’s also about scoring,”

We have had a lot of goalscoring chances in these final few games. That must always be the top priority.

Finding the best ways to maximize each player is what it is. That is my core belief. The players should feel that, in my opinion.

Slegers, we wanted more points at this point.

Arsenal, who had just won the Women’s Champions League for the second time in their history, reigned supreme in the town in the summer.

Renee Slegers had protected them as a difficult interim manager, earning them the job full-time, and bringing home the biggest trophy a few months later.

They added depth to their squad and signed Olivia Smith, their first player worth £1 million, during an exciting transfer window.

So this season’s expectations were very high.

With two draws and a loss in their previous three games, Chelsea is currently fifth in the table, five points clear of them.

Chelsea, in contrast, won a domestic treble last year while going unbeaten and only dropped six points.

City’s most recent defeat is troubling.

We are deeply disappointed with the outcome. Both United and Villa’s results, both draws, both disappointed us. Slegers remarked, “We know the league is very small.

There are some excellent teams in this league that challenge you. We want to try to control anything that is outside our control.

In these kinds of games, we consistently score three points. If you could ask before the season, we would like more points.

James Norton reveals he got ‘nepo dad’ a part in Netflix hit House of Guinness

James Norton, actor best known for his roles in Happy Valley and Grantchester, has revealed that he only played a small part in his new Netflix series with his father.

James Norton has revealed that he got his father a part in his latest Netflix show. The term ‘nepo baby’ refers to those who have made it in the business after being born to parents who are also in the industry, with some of the most famous being Stranger Things star Maya Hawke, Freakier Friday actress Jamie Lee Curtis, and Goldie Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson.

Actor James, 40, has recently flipped the concept of a ” nepo baby ” because he revealed that his father, Hugh, who worked as a teacher and lecturer before moving on to a cameo role in his most recent episode of Peaky Blinders, made a cameo appearance.

In it, he plays fictional brewery foreman, Sean Rafferty, and stars alongside alongside Anthony Boyle as the real-life Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge as Edward and Emily Fairn as Anne Guinness.

Alongside a snap of the two of them working on set, he wrote on Instagram: “Blink and you’ll miss him #bringyourparentstoworkday.” Fans of the actor flooded the comments section to praise him over the revelation.

One person praised your dad’s “love” of doing this in all of his projects. while another person expressed their delight in saying, “Oh, that’s just so lovely,” and a third person added, “You guys are so adorable,” and added a red heart and a crying emoji to their comment.

Fourthly, “Your Dad, I’d say, this is lovely that he wants to appear in everything you do.” and a fifth person remarked, “I love this, brilliant when you explained on Graham Norton’s show that your father’s arm was in the still from Joy, just gorgeous”!

But this isn’t the first time James has invited his dad to star on screen with him. Hugh can be seen making small appearances in Death Comes To Pemberley, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and McMafia. James, who has also starred in Happy Valley and King & Conqueror, played a leading role in Grantchester and the BBC drama War & Peace, and his dad appeared in both of those as well at various points.

House of Guinness delves into the story of the family behind the famous brewery following the death of patriarch Sir Benjamin Guinness. In the series, the business owner bequeaths his empire to just two of his children and doesn’t want to ‘burden’ the others with such a responsibility. It is made clear that trouble will come to the forefront of the series as conflicts around money, power and family look set to rattle throughout.

The streaming service’s “House of Guinness” explores an epic tale that is inspired by the Guinness Family, one of Europe’s most well-known and enduring dynasties.

The story, which is set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, begins shortly after Sir Benjamin Guinness’s passing, the man who had a significant influence on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as a group of Dublin characters who interact with the Guinness phenomenon.

The cast is also made up of a host of esteemed names from the acting world, including Masters of the Air star Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, who starred alongside Millie Bobby Brown in Enola Holmes, Emily Fairn, and Normal People’s Fionn O’Shea.

Rory McIlroy relationship bombshells as insiders claim ‘strains linger’ with wife Erica

After witnessing the most abhorrent abuse at the Ryder Cup, golfing legend Rory Mcllroy praised his wife without a second thought. We reflect on some of their relationship’s ups and downs.

Golf sensation Rory McIlroy was spotted beaming with pride as Team Europe beat Team US to win the Ryder Cup, but his wife was hit with horrific abuse along the way.

Erica Stoll had followed her Masters champion husband around the Bethpage Black course in New York, facing verbal slurs and on the worst occasion, being hit by a drink that was allegedly thrown by a member of the crowd.

Erica, 38, was standing next to Rory, 36, at the time and he quickly checked if she was OK, wiping her hat. After the tournament ended, the Northern Irishman said there had been “a lot of language that was unacceptable and abusive behaviour”. He added: “I don’t think we should ever accept that in golf. I think golf should be held to a higher standard than what was seen out there this week.”

Here are four more bombshells from Rory’s relationship career, not the first time…

plan division

Rory thanked his wife for remaining polite despite the unacceptable abuse after her team won 15-13. She handled everything this week with the same class, poise, and dignity as she has always did. We’re going to have a good time celebrating tonight because I love her. “

Just 16 months prior, the golfer had submitted a three-page document to a Florida court detailing his request to file for divorce from Erica after seven years of marriage. According to TMZ, Rory asked for their prenuptial agreement to be upheld and requested a shared parenting plan for their daughter Poppy.

A few days later, the sportsman refused to answer any questions about his love life at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, where he was spotted without his wedding ring.

Relationship rumors are dissipated

With the announcement of the couple’s impending divorce shocking the golf world, rumours began to swirl that Rory was in the early stages of a relationship with CBS Sports presenter Amanda Balionis. A source would firmly deny there was anything between them.

This didn’t seem to deter spectators at the Ryder Cup – the i Newspaper reported some fans were heard to shout “Amanda” from the crowd.

U-turn in shock

Rory and Erica announced a month later that their divorce had been postponed. He said, “Unfortunately, there have been rumors about my personal life recently.” It’s a fool’s game to respond to every rumor.

Erica and I have come to terms with the fact that our best chance of growing up together as a family has been in recent weeks. We have thankfully come to terms with our differences, and we look forward to a new beginning. “

Following his first Masters victory in April, the world’s best golfer then paid emotional tribute to his family.

Restraints “still exist”

Rory and Erica turned a new leaf and appear to be back to their former flames, but some golfers’ acquaintances claim that their near-divorce was difficult.

Rory’s associate, according to a source who was cited by a source, claimed that “strains still exist” between the two.

They said, “I don’t think I’m going to surprise anyone by saying that,” they said. I’m not suggesting that he is planning a divorce, etc. He can avoid the spectacle of a public divorce, guard his brand, and shield his personal drama from the press by getting married.

According to the source, “The marriage is likely not entirely “fixed,” but rather depends on optics and shared interests. Aren’t all marriages filled with famous people?
