In the UK this summer, there were record female audience numbers for women’s sport, according to a report from the Women’s Sport Trust.
With record viewing times and high participation across the summer’s major tournaments, the WST’s most recent visibility report reveals significant growth across both broadcast and digital platforms.
At Euro 2025, England women won the Women’s Rugby World Cup as hosts, and the women also retained their European football title.
The figures for the respective finals increased to 48% and 47%, according to the report, which shows that females in the UK accounted for 43% of the Euro 2025 and 43% of the Rugby World Cup audience, respectively, records for each tournament.
Both tournaments were live on the BBC, and to celebrate the athletes’ stories, the BBC launched a campaign called “Names Will Be Made” to coincide with the summer’s events.
Total viewing times for women’s sport on free-to-air and pay-TV from January to September 2025 exceeded 357 million hours, which is faster than the previous records set in 2023, which also included coverage of the Women’s Super League, The Hundred, and Netball Super League.
Women’s Sport is one of the biggest draws for viewers of UK television, according to Tammy Parlour, CEO of the Women’s Sport Trust.
“While male audience segments are still present, there is a clear increase in female fans’ engagement across platforms. Women’s sport is no longer a niche interest; it is now a part of the national sporting conversation, which is a powerful indication of cultural relevance.

Jonathan Ross’ iconic Halloween parties have been cancelled following his stint on the Celebrity Traitors. After being the first Traitor to be caught, Jonathan revealed that none of his castmates would be headed to his Halloween bash as he isn’t throwing one this year.
The TV personality’s popular Halloween parties have been a tradition for years. The celebrity gathering would always take place at his Hampstead residence.
But this year, it won’t be happening. Jonathan revealed to Ed Gamble on a bonus podcast episode of The Traitors: Uncloaked that he has cancelled his Halloween parties.

On the episode, Jonathan was asked who he had become friends with on the show. He reeled off a list of names, including Joe Marler. Jonathan said: “Joe Marler – I met him a couple times and had him on my show a couple times and he was invited to my parties on Halloween, when I was still doing them.”
Jonathan continued to list off more names and talk about almost everyone in the cast. When he had finished, Ed said: “The main thing I took from that, Jonathan, is that your not doing your Halloween parties anymore.”
No, Jonathan said, “I’m afraid not.” They cost a fortune, but I might do them before I leave. Ed joked that he hoped an invitation from this podcast would come his way.
Then, according to Jonathan, this was a problem. Not you, but a part of the issue was that whenever I said, “Are you hosting a Halloween party?,” people would ask, “Not you. “
They would ask for a visit, and Jonathan would accept. I invited some of the adults. 30% of them were people I knew only frankly. I liked the others, too, he said, “but I didn’t know them.”
Jonathan has called off the festivities before, not just once. Due to the pandemic, they were also canceled in 2020 and only returned in 2022, when KOKO in Camden instead of his home, where his daughter had fibromyalgia.
The party then went back to his house in 2023. However, the focus switched from frequent guests to routine trick-or-treaters. Children were filmed outside Jonathan’s house as they waited for some sweets and didn’t go the usual A-lister.

Before the change, celebrities like Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Scherzinger and fellow Traitor Alan Carr would attend the party. Alan is still on The Celebrity Traitors and has become a firm fan favourite.
He and Cat Burns are the only two Traitors left and are gearing up to ‘murder’ a faithful in plain sight. If they succeed, it will be the second murder in plain sight to happen on the show, as Alan already killed off Paloma Faith that way.

Charlotte Crosby has shared an update on her mum’s health(Image: BBC?Chatterbox)
Charlotte Crosby has provided fans with an emotional update on her mum’s cancer battle. The former Geordie Shore star, 35, was dealt with a personal blow when her mother Letitia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, and although she beat the disease, she was diagnosed with form of skin cancer earlier in September this year.
Charlotte has now spoken out on her mother’s health, as she sat down for a new interview to discuss her fashion brand Pepper Girls Club, which she set up with her mum more than six years ago.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner invested £300,000 into her business but it has been plagued by various issues until very recently. Earlier this week, the brand achieved its first sell out launch, and Charlotte admitted that Letitia, 56, was the reason she persisted with it, especially when things took tricky turn during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She continued, “I merely did it for my mother.” Since my mother is my best friend, I wanted to help her when she was laid off so that she could maintain both jobs and lead a simpler life than having to resign from her full-time position.
She was so excited throughout her chemotherapy and breast cancer journey, and she was always at work. She had always wanted to be a part of every launch we conducted. She would never forget about the cancer because it was what kept her going.
She had a life of her own, and I believed I simply wanted to do this for her. She felt like she was actually doing something because she never really had many good jobs when she was younger.
Charlotte, who was on the verge of tears, claimed she was becoming “emotional” and that she did it because she cared. “I do it for me, mam really. She also confirmed that “my mother is now cancer-free and is genuinely enjoying her life in the warehouse, picking up, and packing.”
In September, Letitia revealed to her 130,000 followers on Instagram that she had received the devastating news of her second cancer diagnosis just hours before boarding a plane to go on holiday.
She added, “There will probably be a biopsy and a skin graft” as well. I went to the hospital about three hours before my scheduled flight because I discovered that I had skin cancer on my face. Given that I actually wear factor 50, it is not great and certainly not what I wanted to hear.
“I didn’t talk about breast cancer too much and I don’t really talk about things like this.” I feel like I should say something to make people aware of it because it has really rocked and shocked me.
When Letitia was first diagnosed with cancer, Charlotte emotionally explained on her BBC Two series Charlotte In Sunderland just what an impact it had had on the whole family. She said: “It’s hit us like a ton of bricks.
She only had a routine mammogram, she said. No symptoms or signs were present, so the diagnosis was a major shock. Just a few weeks prior to Charlotte’s wedding, Jake Ankers and Alba Jean, they were expecting.
Letitia, who also has nine-month-old Pixi Cecilia, received her first round of chemotherapy, according to Charlotte, who also has her daughter Pixi Cecilia. “She’s finished her treatment and she’s doing really, really well. She still needs to get two jabs, which will probably last for five or more years. We’re just waiting for another mammogram, and if all is well, she might ring the bell.

Every woman should have a mammogram, regardless of age, as Letitia, who has gained a sizable following online since her own daughter’s rise to fame, insisted at the time. I had nothing, no lumps, and no symptoms, she claimed. My life has been saved thanks to the mammogram. Every year, they should invite women of all ages to one. not just women over 50.
Enzo Maresca, Chelsea manager, called Liam Delap’s red card from the 4-3 win over Wolves “very stupid” and said the Blues’ repeated dismissals this year have become “embarrassing.”
Delap came off a 10-week layoff with a hamstring injury only 26 minutes after starting as a substitute for Emmanuel Agbadou after pressing Yerson Mosquera and crashing into Emmanuel Agbadou.
Due to health concerns surrounding fellow forward Joao Pedro, the 22-year-old striker will now miss Saturday’s trip to London rivals Tottenham.
When Delap was questioned whether he merited punishment, Maresca responded, “Absolutely, yes. Stupid behavior. That can be avoided.
The dismissal was a part of a larger Chelsea collapse. After the break, Wolves scored three goals, with Jamie Gittens’ stunning late strike enough to send the Blues to Cardiff City in the quarter-finals.
Maresca continued, “I believe we can all avoid the three goals we conceded.” Undoubtedly, we received a stupid red card today that was completely unnecessary.
I repeatedly told him to “Delap” after the first yellow card to stay calm. However, Liam is a player who struggles to understand and pay attention to those around him when he is playing for himself on the field.
Chelsea received a sixth red card in nine games, including Maresca’s dismissal for celebrating a late winner against Liverpool before the international break.
Given that Chelsea has received the most yellow cards in the Premier League over the past three seasons, the Italian was asked to clarify whether he had any other concerns.
I fully understand when there are red cards, like against Brighton [Trevoh Chalobah red] or Manchester United [Robert Sanchez red], but both of us can and must avoid red cards, like against Nottingham Forest [Robert Sanchez red].
Robert F. Kennedy, the secretary of health and human services of the United States, partially refutes his warning that taking Tylenol while pregnant has a direct connection with autism in young children.
Kennedy used a more moderate tone in a press conference on Wednesday than he has in his previous public appearances.

According to Kennedy, “the causative association between Tylenol taken during pregnancy and the perinatal period is not sufficient to say that it definitely causes autism.” However, it has a very suggestive quality.
He continued, “There should be a cautious approach to it.” Consult your doctor is what we say to patients, mothers, pregnant women, and young children’s mothers.
The statement from Wednesday is more in line with the advice of reputable health organizations.
There haven’t been any conclusive findings in some studies, despite the possibility that Tylenol may have contributed to autism. Before taking the medication, pregnant women are advised to consult a doctor.
Despite “extensive research,” no consistent association has been established between the medication and autism, according to the World Health Organization in September.
However, contrary claims have already sparked restrictions on the sale of Tylenol, a well-known brand of acetaminophen, a fever- and pain-relieving medication.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, accusing Johnson &, Johnson, and Kenvue, the manufacturers of the over-the-counter pain reliever, of deceptive practices.
He did so by reiterating misinformation that President Donald Trump and other government figures like Kennedy have shared.
In a statement, Paxton said, “We will help Make America Healthy Again,” a nod to Kennedy’s MAHA motto.
The lawsuit claims that Johnson &, Johnson, and Kenvue “deceptively promoted Tylenol as the only safe painkiller for pregnant women” in violation of Texas consumer protection laws.
It was the most recent instance of top officials spreading scientific lies. Throughout their political careers, Trump and Kennedy have repeatedly disseminated scientific nonsense.
Trump made the connection between autism and the painkiller during a press conference in September, but without providing any credible scientific evidence to support it.
Is it acceptable to use acetaminophen? Trump stated on September 22 that taking Tylenol, which is essentially, commonly known as Tylenol, during pregnancy increases the risk of autism. Thus, Tylenol consumption is harmful. I’ll say it. It is not good.
Despite not having any formal medical training, Kennedy has made his own sweeping statements regarding Tylenol and its alleged risks.
In a cabinet meeting on October 9, he said, “Anyone who takes this stuff during pregnancy, unless they do, is irresponsible.”
Early this month, Kennedy also mischaracterized studies on male circumcision. He made up his false claim that studies showed that children who were “circumcised early” had more autism.
He continued, “It’s highly likely because they’ve been given Tylenol.”
In a statement released on Tuesday, Kenvue emphasized that acetaminophen is the safest option for pregnant women, noting that if left untreated, high fevers and pain could lead to premature births.
