For Manchester City’s final Premier League game against Fulham, Jack Grealish will not be included in the squad, which will add uncertainty to his future.

The 29-year-old did not travel to London with City, and he has only made seven top-flight starts this season, ending the campaign with just one goal in each of the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.

Grealish was a unused substitute for Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final and was omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s starting England squad.

Manager Pep Guardiola responded to BBC Match of the Day by stating only that he had selected before kick-off by saying “selection.”

Shay Given, a former City goalkeeper, claimed that the player’s “writing is on the wall” and that they must “see what is out there” for their careers.

Is there a return to Grealish?

Boss Guardiola made the headlines on Tuesday when he claimed in a bombshell that he would “quit” City if he had a sizable squad to manage next year following his stunning win over Bournemouth.

He then made it clear in the news conference on Friday that it was a joke, but he also reiterated that he needs to collaborate with a smaller group of players.

Since City’s official website lists 32 players, there are likely to be numerous departures.

Will there be others, though, like Gulp?

The forward made a significant contribution to the club’s triple success in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup in 2022-23, but he has struggled to replicate his best form, and his days at the club now seem numbered after being cut short on Sunday.

Grealish has grown accustomed to warming the bench and has only scored four Premier League goals in the last two years, including one strike this term.

He was signed from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021, but he didn’t play for the team at Wembley against Palace last Saturday, and Guardiola chose to make his surprise debut in the second half against Argentine teenager Claudio Echeverri.

Grealish was “absolutely heartbroken” that he was cut from England’s Euro 2024 squad last summer because he didn’t play a lot of regular games for City and that this has had an impact on his international ambitions.

French Open 2025

Location: Roland Garros, May 25 – June

Aryna Sabalenka, the reigning world no. 1, dropped just one game to launch her impressive French Open campaign against Kamilla Rakhimova.

Russian Rakhimova defeated Sabalenka 6-1, 6 0 6-0 in Paris, in just one hour.

The Belarusian continued to excel throughout the match, winning nine games straight to seal the victory.

Sabalenka dominated the first day of play on Court Philippe Chatrier by hitting 30 winners, breaking her opponent’s serve five times, and dominating the second day’s play.

Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has never reached the French Open final, which would be her best effort if she had made it to the semi-finals in 2023.

The 27-year-old is, however, using this evidence to support her claim to be one of the tournament favorites.

In the quarters, she might face Chinese eighth seed Zheng Qinwen, who defeated 2021 runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 6-3 in her opening match, and three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek, who is also in the semis.

After winning against Rakhimova, Sabalenka used a polaroid camera to capture photos of her bags and court, a custom she has continued to do this year.

Marion Bartoli, the former Wimbledon champion, posed the question to Sabalenka about the camera in an on-court interview, saying, “The idea was to take some positive moments in my life. I started in December and I already have a pretty big album.

When I’m sad, I go through the album and remember the positive events that caused me to feel good.

Mboko, 18, excels in his Grand Slam debut.

Victoria Mboko, a teenager, made her Grand Slam debut by winning over Lulu Sun, who was 45 at the beginning of the day.

The Canadian-born 18-year-old won 6-1 7-6 (7-4) against New Zealander Sun, who defeated Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon in July of last year. She made it through qualifying without losing a set.

Mboko, who was ranked 333 at the start of the year, is now up to 120 in the world after her 38th victory.

She said, “I didn’t expect the whole thing, to be honest.” “I mean, even playing, even the quallies,” I mean. For the first time ever, I was so excited to play in a Grand Slam.

“It’s a surprise in and of itself,” the entire thing is. I mean, I feel like I can use it and make the most of it right now that I’m here.

Elina Svitolina, the 13th seed in Ukraine, won 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, against Zeynep Sonmez of Turkey, one of the more well-known names.

More Students Scored Above 300 In 2025 UTME — JAMB

In the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), there were 17 candidates, 025 of whom scored 0.88 per cent of the total of 1, 931, 467.

The results of candidates who took the resit examination were made public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Sunday in their report.

Since the CBT format was introduced in 2013, the performance of the report indicates a significant improvement over previous years.

The number indicates a steady increase in UTME participation over the years, surpassing the 1, 842, 364 results from 2024.

In comparison, 8, 401 candidates (0.46 per cent) achieved similar scores in 2024, while 5, 318 (0.35 per cent) did so in 2023.

Only 724 candidates (0.06%) received 300 or higher in 2021, compared to none in 2014 and 2013. Prior figures were generally lower.
In the 250 and above category, 117, 373 candidates (6.08 per cent) attained this range in 2025.

The board reported that of the 336, 845 candidates who had their exams rescheduled, 21 082 were absent.

21 082 were absent, according to JAMB, out of the 336 and 845 who were eventually scheduled after isolated good sessions at the affected centers were excluded and their previously unverified candidates were added.

Additionally, it made the announcement that the underage candidates (as opposed to those subject to legal action) who performed below the law’s requirements and those who participated in “Chat Runs” and other misdemeanours were given access to the withheld results.

“It should be recalled that the Board’s Chief External Examiners (CEEs) met to discuss the results after the resit examination was conducted in all of the federation’s states. A few notable people were present at the meeting.

A subcommittee led by Prof. Olufemi Peters, the vice-chancellor of the National Open University and a member of the CEE FCT, was established to confirm that the results are in order after reviewing the report from the resit examination and extensive discussion thereon.

A psychometrics expert, Prof. Boniface Nworgu, was requested to analyze and approve the results for a subsequent release, according to the CEEs after reviewing the exercise.

The meeting decided to release the withheld results of underage candidates who performed below the established standards as part of the healing process (aside from when litigation is involved).

They had previously signed an agreement during the registration process that only those who meet the required criteria would be considered for under-age special admission, but this result does not make them eligible for admission.

Release of Results of Candidates’ Elections for “Chocolate Runs” and Other Misdemeanours: This category of candidates was found to be engaged in defrauding of money. The meeting put forth a once-for-all waiver rather than an endorsement of candidates’ inadmissible acts. Therefore, candidates were advised to avoid enlisting in shady “Chat” and other anti-social groups.

“All results are now available, with the exception of those obtained from candidates who took examination infractions and candidates who are scheduled to take mop-up exams.” While releasing the results, it should be noted that some of the results of implicated candidates across the nation who’ve previously been released have been withdrawn due to recent discoveries, particularly those made by the security agencies.

Candidates who previously received results are no longer required to recheck them because they are being made aware via text messages on their registered lines, profiles, and emails.

Brooklyn Beckham family feud LIVE: Updates as David and Victoria’s son declares ‘I choose my wife’

Brooklyn Beckham has today left fans stunned by publicly declaring that he ‘chooses’ wife Nicola Peltz amid the ongoing family feud.

It is the wannabe chef’s most brazen and deliberate swipe at his family to date.

Brooklyn took to Instagram after weeks of speculation, to announce that Nicola is his ‘whole world’ and he will ‘always choose her.’ In a move set to devastate his devoted parents, Brooklyn made a gushing show of solidarity to his wife of three years while swiping at his estranged family.

Sharing a video of himself riding Nicola through the streets of Los Angeles on a motorbike, Brooklyn posted: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”

The cruel dig comes just after Brooklyn and Nicola chose to snub the 50th birthday celebrations thrown for his dad David this month in the UK and in Miami.

A source close to the couple said that Nicola has succeeded in finally helping Brooklyn “see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within his family.” A source close to the Beckhams – who previously described the accusations as “deeply unpleasant and patently untrue” – said it was a “bit rich” for Nicola’s friends to lecture about toxic behaviour.

Brooklyn’s post promoted an immediate backlash from brother Cruz, who hit back by defending his parents and thanking them for giving all of their children ‘the world’.

We take a look at updates from both camps as the drama unfolds.

Brooklyn Beckham ‘never wants to see Nicola upset’

Joining his wife in a 2022 interview about rumours of a feud between them and showbiz power couple parents The Beckhams, Brooklyn gave some very telling comments about his side.

He revealed: “To be honest, my wife is obviously my first priority and I never want to see her upset ever.

“When people do say ridiculous things, we just talk about it and we just move on. We have each other’s back 100 percent and we just move on together.”

Nicola Peltz says ‘no family is perfect’

Speaking for the first time about rumours she’d fallen out with mother-in-law Victoria Beckham, Nicola said she was baffled and that ‘no family is perfect.

“It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, ‘feud, feud, feud!’,” she told the Sunday Times months after the wedding.

“I don’t know why they say ‘feud’? I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it ‘feud’?”

Nicola and Victoria spat began on wedding day

Rumours of discontent between the Beckhams and Nicola have been bubbling ever since Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish Florida wedding in 2022. While the million dollar nuptials looked the epitome of romance, glamour and family togetherness in the glossy photographs, behind the scenes things went down a little differently.

It was reported that Nicola was left furious by mother-in-law Victoria’s antics on the day, accusing her of trying to steal her thunder. The Spice Girls star is said to have riled the bride by picking the song selected for the first dance to be her mother-daughter dance with Brooklyn.

Nicola also refused to wear a dress that Victoria’s label had created for her on the special day. Explaining the drama, Nicola said: “Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress,” she explained. “I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it.

“So, Ispoke to my mom and Leslie [Nicola’s close friend and stylist, stylist Leslie Fremar], and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?”

Beckham family’s running joke about Nicola

This week The Mirror revealed the running joke in the Beckham family.

Whenever Nicola Peltz enters a room, one should duck and cover.

“Waiters are often in the firing line,” claims a source. “Staff, family members, you name it….they’ve seen it with their own eyes.”

Victoria will be ‘devastated’

Fans have reacted angrily to Brooklyn Beckham’s declaration that he ‘chooses’ his wife in a cruel swipe at his parents.

Many hit out in the comment section calling for Brooklyn to make ammends with his mother before it’s too late.

“If that was my son saying that, knowing what the post is about, I would be devastated. Blood is thicker than water. You might be feeling confident now. But just remember that while you’re on the way up. Who’s going to be there for if you ever fall down. Make sure the damage isn’t irreparable when you need your family again. The real blood ones. Not a piece of paper,” fumed one.

Another urged Brooklyn: “I wish my parents were alive to hug them both and tell them I love them. Brooklyn call your parents and move forward.”

Another responded: “Real love doesn’t make you choose. Why can’t you love your wife AND your family? I hope whatever is going on can be resolved”

Cruz offers another olive branch

After hitting back at his brother for ‘choosing’ Nicola Peltz over their parents, Cruz Beckham has returned to social media this time to extend an olive branch to his big brother.

In an apparent plea for peace, Cruz shared that he was listening to George Harrison’s 1970 album All Things Must Pass.

Brooklyn Beckham’s wife Nicola Peltz branded ‘worst of the worst’ and ‘actually a monster’

Top celebrity hair colourist Justin Anderson, whose clients have included Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Aniston, worked with Brooklyn’s wife when she starred in Transformers early in her acting career.

Asked previously if there was a celebrity he would never work with again, Anderson called her the “worst of the worst of the worst”, adding that she was “actually a monster”. Peltz’s friends say this characterization is false and stems from an incident involving Justin on set.

But after the Beckhams were accused of toxic behaviour and emotional abuse, friends of Justin say he has nothing but sympathy for them.

A pal said: “Justin can only imagine what it would be like to have Nicola as a daughter-in-law. He feels very bad for the Beckhams caught up in everything.”

Why have the Beckhams fallen out?

Brooklyn, who married American model and actress in 2022, has snubbed his parents at a number of important events this year, including Victoria’s 51st birthday party in April and David’s milestone 50th birthday celebrations.

So why have the family fallen out?

Rumours of a feud first surfaced after Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding day.

This year the bubbling drama is said to have spilled onto social media, with friends of Nicola publicly criticising the Beckhams. This is said to have led to Nicola and Brooklyn swerving family events because they felt too awkward.

Tensions have only been aggravated further by the choice of Romeo’s new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who dated Brooklyn in the past.

Cruz Beckham’s emotional reply

Cruz Beckham rushed to defend his famous parents following a brutal swipe by brother Brooklyn today. Amid the ongoing family feud, Brooklyn stunned fans as he declared publicly he is ‘choosing’ wife Nicola Peltz.

The youngest of the Beckham boys Cruz appeared furious as he took to Instagram today and seemed to make a dig at his big brother’s antics. He shared: “I love my family, I love you guys more than anything, mum & dad you gave us life and cared for us no matter what, I cannot tell you how blessed we all are to have you in our lives x.”

Nicola Peltz told to ‘grow up’

Nicola Peltz was told to ‘grow up’ by angry fans as she gave a giddy response to Brooklyn Beckham’s declaration that he is ‘choosing her’ in the ongoing feud with his parents.

The Beckham clan have been at odds in recent months amid reports Brooklyn has frozen out his family after his brother Romeo began dating his former interest. Brooklyn is said to be furious at the romance while wife Nicola is said to have treated model and DJ Kim Turnbull ‘appallingly.’

After much speculation about what is going on behind the scenes, today Brooklyn finally declared that he is ‘choosing Nicola’ in the fallout. Nicola shared his post to her own page and replied: “I’ve always got you baby,” followed by a burning love heart emoji. Fans immediately reacted angrily to the stunt, with many telling the pair to ‘grow up’ and made calls for Brooklyn to contact his mother before it’s too late.

“I’m sorry but you pair need to grow up,” one fan raged. They told Nicola: “You’ve made a point of going on about the love for your grandma who passed last year and yet you’re happy to see your husband estranged from his family. This will eventually come between you & Brooklyn. However long it takes it will split you up & we’ll all be watching. Be nice life’s too short.”

Brooklyn Beckham’s savage post sparks war

Brooklyn Beckham has finally made his feelings crystal clear amid his ongoing feud with his family in a cutting Instagram post.

Brooklyn, 26, who is David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, has been notably absent from their lives for months now after reports of a feud between him and his parents, wife Nicola Peltz and his younger brother Romeo. Now tearaway Brooklyn has vowed he will “always choose” his wife Nicola Peltz after claims that she has been the catalyst behind the mass fall out.

Sharing a video to his Instagram Brooklyn is seen riding a red motorcycle with Nicola, 30, sat behind with her arms wrapped around him as they travel along the road. He puts his hand up to hold and caress her arm in the clip which he shared alongside a telling caption.

He wrote: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”
