Arsenal have three points and a win at Old Trafford to start the season, but it has already sparked discussion about what the future holds for the team.

The ability to produce a result even when not playing well could be a big thing for the Gunners as they aim to win a trophy this season, despite Mikel Arteta admitting that his side were not at their best and that this was their first game of the campaign.

Arsenal faced a significant back-up battle against Manchester United, who had 61% possession and 22 shots in the first half of the game while the visitors were able to hold them at bay.

What tried Arteta to accomplish?

As they try to make the most of Viktor Gyokeres’ £64 million striker, Arsenal have adopted a new, more direct style of play this season.

Gyokeres appeared to lack match fitness, and despite Arteta saying the forward “did a lot of things very well,” he added that he and his staff must “work on” Gyokeres’ pressing.

Arteta added that their team missed “seven or eight situations when the ball is completely open play through” to attack the goal because they did not make enough of the opportunity to play the ball behind the United defense, which would have demonstrated Gyokeres’ qualities.

For the first time since April 2023, Gyokeres played for Coventry City against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, putting an end to a 69-game winning streak.

It takes time for Arsenal to get used to the new striker’s runs because they have been using a striker in Kai Havertz that is very different from Gyokeres. Speaking on Sky, Daniel Sturridge said.

He will also have to alter his game; both him and the team will change for him. That is what makes a business successful.

Due to his unpredictable play, match-winner Riccardo Calafiori was chosen at left-back, but his forward runs allowed Bryan Mbeumo to start the United attack without problems.

importance of the set-piece

Since set-piece coach Nicolas Jover took over in 2021, Arsenal have gained a reputation for their threat from dead-ball situations and have excelled at them.

Since Calafiori started scoring from corners in 2023-24, Liverpool is the team’s 31st goal of the season, with 20 being the next highest scorers.

Five players were positioned along the edge of the penalty area as a new routine was introduced during the pre-season, leading to the goal, before the ball was swung in.

Can they win the title?

After the full-time whistle, the Arsenal players celebrated in front of their supporters, and BBC Sport asked Arteta in his press conference whether the team’s victory was a positive one.

“That certainly gives you confidence and momentum.” Two very significant things, according to Arteta.

“We can still come away with a winning strategy.” The team must be able to demonstrate that resilience over the course of the season, over and over again.

Of course, there are many things that need to be improved, and that will start very soon, but able to do that in a way that is great is to achieve that.

Clinton Morrison, a former Crystal Palace and Republic of Ireland striker, believes that the attributes Arsenal displayed could indicate a successful season.

He said, “A champions are born when you don’t play well and still get three points.”

The difference was the goalie,” she said. Altay Bayindir made a huge mistake, and David Raya did it admirably.

“Viktor Gyokeres ate scraps,” he said. He finds it challenging. He still has a lot to offer.

Gary Neville, a former Manchester United player and Sky pundit, said that Arsenal had to alter “because of how they played the first half.”

He continued, “The front three, especially the wide players, were not playing this game anywhere near good.”

Tommy Fury reveals brutal Molly-Mae wake-up call as ‘everything was gone’

Tommy Fury, a boxer and Love Island star, candidly reflects on the day he realized he needed to change after Molly-Mae Hague left him.

Molly-Mae Hague had to make a difficult choice to leave Tommy Fury.

Tommy Fury has opened up on the harrowing moment he knew he needed to change or face losing his family forever. The former Love Island star-turned-boxer, 26, seemed to have it all with his lavish home life with Molly-Mae Hague and their baby daughter, as well as his flourishing career.

However, everything came crashing down following a fight in January 2024 that saw him damage his hand. Tommy was unable to train,n and the lack of discipline left his life in tatters.

He turned to drink after hitting “rock bottom”, which resulted in him losing his fiancé and two-year-old Bambi. It comes after Vogue Williams quits drinking after blacking out drunk at lavish showbiz wedding.

Tommy struggled with his drinking issues, so Molly-Mae made the difficult but understandable choice to leave their family home. He admitted, “I had enough alcohol to last me a lifetime in 2024.”

“Unfortunately, you discover that all you can do is sit down and then a few of them (drinks) take the pain away one day. You forget what’s happening and where you are. And that’s where it obviously begins when you occasionally crave that sensation constantly.

Tommy admitted: “Now, when I look at that person from back then, I don’t even recognise that guy. It’s just not me. Back then, I didn’t really care about anything. It was like the world going by, wasn’t bothered, and that’s just not me.”

The boxer claims he is now hardly touching any alcohol and hasn’t consumed any of it. If it’s a wedding or something similar, I might have a few drinks going forward. Nobody should be doing it, he said, “four or five times per week is something nobody should be doing.”

Under the same roof, Molly-Mae and Tommy have been rekindling their romance and lives together. However, Tommy really gained weight from her upping and leaving.

Tommy recalled that when I woke up one morning, Molly and the baby were gone. What’s happening, I thought at that moment, “Wow, what’s going on? ” And that’s when I first started trying to make changes.”

Speaking to the Mirror earlier this month, Tommy shared his pain of being alone in their Cheshire mansion. He spent a lot of time “sitting in a big dark room” by himself.

He said, “That’s what I was doing most days. You spend a lot of time thinking about things when you’re all by yourself and wish you could never go down that path, but it has happened.

Last summer, the couple shocked fans with their split announcement. Soon after, rumours started to spread that Tommy had cheated on Molly-Mae, leaving him “horrified”.

A Tommy’s spokesperson at the time furiously refuted the assertions. Tommy is consulting his attorneys and is horrified by the false allegations being made by the media, they told the Mirror. The father-of-one was called “distraught” because he was aware that the allegations couldn’t possibly be further from the truth.

And when it was taken away, and it hit us like a ton of bricks, it was ten times worse for her. We simply went into a somewhat negative place. And to be honest, I pretended to be completely fine in front of her while pretending to be cool.

It is not the only point at which Adam becomes overcome during Sunday night’s episode, however. Another task shows the participants – who include former footballers Adebayo Akinfenwa and Troy Deeney, boxer Conor Benn, and The Traitors star Harry Clark – reading out letters they penned to be distributed in the event of their death.

In a note, Adam pays tribute to his fiancee, Laura, saying, “The last few months have been really tough, but nowhere near as tough as you.”

He continues, “We lost a baby recently,” before shedding his tears once more. He completes reading his letter, which ends with, “I wish I had one more night to give you the biggest cuddle in the world,” after being consoled by his fellow contestants. Adam, I adore you forever.

In a subsequent confessionals conversation, Adam praised Laura, saying, “She definitely helped me open up,” despite the fact that he was speaking directly to the camera.

In June, Laura paid tribute to Adam and their child as they celebrated their first Father’s Day together. Taking to Instagram, she shared a snap of Adam cuddling their son while she stood proudly beside him.
