The first supergroup of Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning festival were booed by some members of the event’s crowd yesterday due to one of its controversial members
Some fans at Black Sabbath’s festival weren’t impressed with one particular member of the celeb supergroup
The inaugural supergroup performance at the Black Sabbath gig yesterday received a polarised response, with a portion of the audience expressing their disapproval through boos. The concert saw some of the biggest names in metal and rock music come together to honour Ozzy Osbourne as he performed for the final time with Black Sabbath.
Huge music stars came together to perform a number of Black Sabbath’s hits at his Back to the Beginning festival – however as the first supergroup arrived on stage, some fans weren’t too impressed.
First supergroup on stage at Villa Park
“We got our first supergroup of the day. Lzzy Hale is fronting it, one of the only – if not the only – woman on today’s bill,” Birmingham Live’s Kirsty Bosley reported.
“Members of Faith No More (Mike Bordin), Megadeth (David Ellefson) Ozzy Osbourne’s legendary guitarist Jake E Lee. They’re playing The Ultimate Sin by Ozzy. “
However, she noted that the entrance of a particular artist was met with negative reactions from the fans.

She continued: “David Draiman from Disturbed is now joining them to huge boos from the crowd. He’s caused controversy with his political opinions online and the crowd are not welcoming.
“Despite boos, hands are still up in the air to clap along to the Draiman-fronted rendition of 1986 Ozzy track Shot In The Dark. “

Disturbed, widely recognised for their sombre cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence, found their vocalist David Draiman at the centre of controversy post-Glastonbury earlier this week.
Draiman released a video in which he criticised Bob Vylan after they chanted “death, death to the IDF” during their livestreamed set at Glastonbury.
Posting on his Instagram page, Draiman said: ” I just wanted to speak my mind a little bit about the events of this past weekend.
“No one should ever use any stage at any festival anywhere in the world to incite hatred and violence against anyone. I think it’s disgusting. I think it’s irresponsible and contrary to the whole reason people get together at these festivals to begin with.”
He added: “More importantly, just from a human perspective, what exactly do you really think you’re going to achieve here? You know, death to the IDF. Every citizen of the state of Israel has to serve. Every citizen.
“So you’re saying that the majority of world Jews should die, should be killed? That’s what you’re saying. Good luck with that. Iran saw how easy that wasn’t so I’m not sure what you want, what you’re trying to achieve other than virtue signalling and instant fame that this selling of Jew hatred has seen to gift everyone with these days. “

The Mirror has reached out to David Draiman for comment.
Holders England and tournament first-timers Wales both lost their opening games of Euro 2025, but will they bounce back next time out in Group D?
BBC Sport football expert Rachel Brown-Finnis is predicting the outcome of all 31 games in Switzerland.
She got five of the opening eight group matches correct, including the Netherlands’ victory over Wales, but was caught out by the Lionesses’ defeat by France.
You did not see that result coming either, with only 16% of you backing Les Bleues. Like Rachel, you ended up with a score of 5/8 overall, and were also wrong about Finland beating Iceland and Italy getting the better of Belgium.
Will you and Rachel do better next time? You can make your own predictions for the second set of group games below, including England versus the Netherlands, and France against Wales.
Brown-Finnis has also picked her two teams to go through from each group into the knockout stage, and given her reasons why.
She is backing England to win the Euros again, and believes Wales won’t get out of their group.
Group A
What information do we collect from this quiz?
Norway made such a slow start against Switzerland in their opening game but they were unrecognisable in and out of possession in the second half.
They looked like a different team after the break as they fought back from a goal down to beat the hosts, and I feel like they will build on that performance now they know the levels they need to reach.
Finland showed in their win over Iceland that they are well organised at the back and how tough they are to break down, but I still think Norway will find a way through.
What information do we collect from this quiz?
It feels like the tournament has only just got started but this is a huge match for both teams. If the earlier game in Group A finishes in a draw, then whoever loses here is out.
Iceland are the higher-ranked team and they will definitely believe they can get the result they need – but they were held to two draws when they played each other in this year’s Nations League.
Switzerland’s defeat by Norway was a disappointing result for the hosts but I thought they were fantastic in the first half and I don’t think they let their lead slip because of a lack of application or a dip in their performance.
The swing in that game was more down to Norway changing their tactics and the Swiss failing to adapt. Even then, they were a bit unfortunate not to get anything from the game.
If Switzerland can play with the same intensity here then, with the crowd behind them, I think they will have enough quality to get their tournament back on track.
Group B
What information do we collect from this quiz?
Spain were hugely impressive in their 5-0 victory over Portugal. It’s already clear how much better they are this time than they were at the 2022 European Championship, when England beat them in the quarter-finals, and they are only just getting started at this tournament.
Lots of teams have seen changes in personnel since that tournament, and the 2023 World Cup, but none of them have improved to the extent that Spain have.
We saw against Portugal what happens when a team does not adapt at all to the dominant way Spain play – you have to acknowledge you are not going to see much of the ball, sit off them and play on the counter, but Portugal did not really do that and paid the price.
I am not expecting Belgium to make the same mistake, but it is still hard to see them getting anything out of this game. Losing to Italy was a big blow to their hopes of getting out of the group, and this is clearly a much harder task.
Belgium have played Spain four times in the past few months, in the Nations League and in qualifying for these Euros, and lost every time.
A couple of those defeats were heavy ones, but Belgium did cause them a few problems at times too.
I am not sure how close they will get to the world champions this time, but at least they know what to expect.
What information do we collect from this quiz?
Portugal were quite naive against Spain. They have got some quality, but not enough to take risks against the world champions and get a result.
This game is going to be much closer, and I am expecting a reaction from Portugal after seeing the way they have grown over the past couple of tournaments. They know they have to perform here, or they will be going home soon.
Italy may have a bit of a swagger about them after beating Belgium in their first game but they can be quite open themselves at times and I’d be surprised if they find this straightforward.
Group C
What information do we collect from this quiz?
Germany got off to a good start with their win over Poland but losing captain Giulia Gwinn to injury was a big blow, and she will not play again at these Euros.
I still think they have the squad depth to see off Denmark, and they already look composed and like they have found some rhythm, but this won’t be easy.
The Danes badly need to get something out of this game, and Pernille Harder will be desperate to kickstart her tournament after hitting the bar in their defeat against Sweden.
What information do we collect from this quiz?
Poland put in a spirited performance against Germany, but still lost on their debut at a major finals.
It’s hard to see them getting anything here, either. Sweden’s win over Denmark was massive for their hopes of getting out of the group and I am expecting them to get another victory here too.
Like Wales, Poland are finding out that the level of tournament football at a European Championship really is the best of the best.
When you look at the world ranking of the teams here, then Europe is the strongest continent, which is why it’s so hard to get out of your group – let alone go all the way and win it.
For teams who are at their first major finals, it is a case of looking upwards – not just in terms of everyone else’s world rankings, but with factors like experience and confidence too.
Sweden have got lots of know-how at major finals and that should help them get the win they want before they face Germany in their final group game.
Group D
What information do we collect from this quiz?
England started well against France but after having a goal ruled out for offside they were just not good enough in the first half.
The Lionesses improved and dominated possession after the break but still didn’t manage any shots on target until the closing stages.
That defeat means this is a must-win game for them but, if they are going to beat the Netherlands, they will have to be much better at the basics.
Too many simple passes went astray on Saturday night, and we didn’t see the kind of sharp and polished England performance that we have become used to.
We know England can be better, and I do think they will be much improved against the Dutch, but they will have to be careful because Vivianne Miedema looked like she is back to her best with her brilliant goal that broke the deadlock against Wales.
To play this video you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.
Miedema can sometimes look disinterested, or seem uninvolved, but that’s just how she plays – it means she is sometimes underestimated, when she is always dangerous.
I still believe England will rise to the challenge, however, even if manager Sarina Wiegman may have to review the tactics she used against France – they looked much more threatening when Michelle Agyemang came on late on, compared to when Alessia Russo was up top on her own.
When it comes down to games like this, where they have to get the three points, I would always back England and Wiegman to find a way of winning.
What information do we collect from this quiz?
France were worthy winners against England. They got a bit of momentum in the first half, and took control.
Wales will know what to expect after watching that game, because Les Bleues looked pumped, and never gave England any easy possession of the ball at all, but stopping France is a huge ask – they looked fresh and fiery and their intensity and work-rate was simply relentless.
Wales had a way of playing against the Dutch that worked for a while – they defended in numbers, worked hard and pressed hard, and tried to attack on the break when they won the ball back – but they couldn’t sustain it.
They found out the hard way what happens when you give players like Miedema too much space and time on the edge of your area, and if they drop off against France, then their quality will shine through too.
BBC Radio 5 Live pundit and former England international Izzy Christiansen says the Lionesses must use their frustration from their opening Euro 2025 defeat by France as motivation for Wednesday’s second group game against the Netherlands.

Explosive claims have described Prince Harry as having a rocky bond with his grandmother the late Queen in the run-up to marrying Meghan Markle – and royal expert Jennie Bond says they are very telling
They may have tied the knot more than seven years ago – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced new explosive claims about tension in the lead-up to their wedding.
It is well known that the run-up to their nuptials in May 2018 was not all plain sailing, with Meghan’s dad dropping out of attending the ceremony at the last minute. But now a royal author has laid bare claims that behind the scenes, Harry had left the late Queen ‘dismayed’ with some of the wedding arrangements – even saying that he almost ‘blew’ his relationship with his late grandmother.

Sally Bedell Smith claims that before her death, Lady Elizabeth Anson, a cousin of Elizabeth II and a high-society party planner, told her that the former monarch had become “very worried” about her grandson and that Meghan’s intentions had been questioned.
Lady Anson, who is said to have made the comments, died in 2020 – and of course, the events leading up to the wedding were more than seven years ago now. And even though a significant amount of time has passed since the nuptials, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror that in a recent move, it was Meghan who harked back to the past first.
She explained: “There have been too many reports about tensions in the weeks running up to Harry and Meghan’s marriage to discount them. I think the old saying ‘there’s no smoke without fire’ holds true.

The Sussexes on their wedding day
“Lady Elizabeth Anson was certainly a very well-connected and informed source for these latest reports, which suggest that the Queen felt Harry was rushing into a marriage too quickly.
“Worse than that, it seems the Queen and other members of the Royal family doubted Meghan’s sincerity and found her very difficult to deal with.
“It’s extremely sad to think that the situation also soured the late Queen’s relationship with her very much loved grandson, Harry: a young man she had nurtured and guided through the very worst time of his life, the death of his mother.
“Is it fair that all this is being brought up so many years later? Maybe not, but then perhaps Meghan shouldn’t allude to lies being told about her eight years ago, which she did in a recent podcast.

“The fact is the royal story is always a source of curiosity and will sell books and papers, especially when there is a whiff of discord or scandal. “
One bombshell claim made in Bedell-Smith’s Substack is that the former monarch had been left shocked that Harry had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the wedding ceremony without asking the Dean of Windsor first and that the now Duke of Sussex thought his grandmother could just “do what she wants”.
And according to Bedell Smith, Lady Anson said that due to this, Harry had “blown” his relationship with his grandmother. She writes that Lady Anson told her several months before the wedding: “She [the Queen] said she was really upset. I was shocked when the Queen told me this, how she was so saddened. I had no idea about the conversation, that he was rude to her for ten minutes.
“They had tea with her the day before yesterday. She was trying to find out about the wedding dress, and Meghan wouldn’t tell her. “
However, the author later claims that several weeks closer to the nuptials, Lady Anson told her that Harry and his grandmother had “patched things up” after he let her into the details of what they had planned for their wedding. Bedell Smith says Lady Anson described Harry as “besotted and weak about women. “
And now Jennie believes the claims show how much of a change there had been in Harry. She added: “It does seem quite out of character for Harry to disrespect his grandmother and, if he did, it is a sorry reflection of how his relationship changed him.
“He always claimed they had something special, and that she could confide in him in a way she did not with other family members. He suggested he was in some way her protector…making sure ‘she had the right people around her. ‘

“The late Queen was meticulous about including both Harry and Meghan in statements she made about the situation and made it clear she would always regard them as part of the family. Whether she would still feel quite so magnanimous today is something we shall never know. I just hope Harry now feels it was all worth it. “
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has dismissed speculation in some sections of the media that he would lead five other governors in defecting to the opposition coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Zulum, in a statement by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, described the rumour as an unfounded fabrication by unscrupulous elements seeking relevance.
The governor reiterated his loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The statement quoted the governor as saying, “We have become aware of a fictitious and mischievous social media report circulating in certain quarters, alleging plans by me to decamp from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside five other governors. ”

“This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors. They are detractors who have made no meaningful contribution to the progress of Borno State or Nigeria. It is a classic example of cheap, politically motivated speculation designed solely to distract us and create unnecessary political tension. ”
“My loyalty to the APC remains firm, and my dedication is solely to the welfare and progress of Borno State. ”
Zulum urged the people of Borno and the general public to disregard the speculation.
According to him, the state government has no time for “cheap politics” as “our hands are full with the noble task of rebuilding and developing our dear state”.
“I call on media outlets and the public to verify information from credible official sources and to ignore the desperate fabrications of those seeking relevance through disinformation.
“We remain resolute in our commitment to serving Borno State under the banner of our great party, the APC,” the statement added.
Following months of talks about a political coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, a group of opposition leaders adopted the ADC as the platform for the coalition movement.
Among them are a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar; the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi; a former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; and his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, who emerged as the ADC’s interim national secretary.
Presenter, Fiona Phillips, has bravely spoken out about being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, which she initially thought was menopause after suffering from ‘brain fog’

Fiona Phillips admits she had no idea she was suffering from Alzheimer’s before her diagnosis three years ago. The former Good Morning Britain star, 64, who shares two children with ex-This Morning boss, Martin Frizell, initially put her symptoms, including brain fog, anxiety and a lack of interest in her marriage down to menopause. However, three years ago she was tragically told that she had the neurodegenerative disease, which both her parents suffered with.
Opening up about her early symptoms, Fiona said she had frequent anxiety attacks, “which became almost hourly”. She also suffered from brain fog, a lack of confidence when driving and confusion, over the “simplest thing like opening a bank account”.

She writes in an extract of her book, Adapted from Remember When: My Life With Alzheimer’s, which is published in the Mail: “For me it was the sense of brain fog and a sense of anxiety that I could rarely shake off.
“The simplest thing, like going to the bank to ask about my account, would send me into a total panic, and there were mood swings too, which meant even I was finding my behaviour unpredictable. “
Meanwhile, Fiona’s marriage was coming under increasing strain. Blaming Alzheimer’s for “at least part of it”, she said: “I’m sure the disease was at least partly responsible, but at the time neither of us could see it. I just became more and more disconnected from Martin and the boys.

“‘You’ve totally zoned out of our family and our marriage,’ he [Martin] would say to me. “
Putting her symptoms down to menopause after a leading expert appeared on This Morning, Fiona was taken in for tests.

Martin said: “Dr Newson was lovely. She had a long chat with Fiona and took blood tests. She also put her on a course of hormone replacement therapy. If it was the menopause, then within a couple of months the brain fog and anxiety symptoms should start to ease.
But when Fiona’s condition failed to improve after a few months of the HRT treatment, the doctor read through Fiona’s notes again and then, says Martin, “said the words I’d been hoping for so long never to hear” – that it may be something more than the menopause.
After a series of tests, including simple subtraction and being asked to draw intersecting rectangles, Fiona had an MRI, which was inconclusive. But, after she had a lumbar puncture she was told she had early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Revealing that she and Martin went to the pub for a much-needed drink after the devastating news, Fiona writes stoically: “That afternoon in the pub it had seemed extraordinary that we could continue to live life ‘as normally as possible’, but that’s exactly what we did from that moment on. “
