Princess Andre’s management respond after mum Katie Price lashes out over reality show

Princess Andre’s management, The CAN Group, have shared a statement with the Mirror after Katie Price lashed out on her podcast over her daughter’s reality TV show

Katie Price’s daughter Princess’ new documentary series is set to be released this weekend

Princess Andre’s management have issued a statement after Katie Price lashed out over her daughter’s reality TV show.

Princess, 18, is set to star in her own documentary series, The Princess Diaries, which is airing on ITV this weekend. Katie and Peter Andre’s daughter has been paving out her own career in showbiz and her documentary series will take a look at her blossoming career and life in the limelight.

The new series is set to kick start on Sunday August 10 at 9pm. However, rumours of a rift between Princess and Katie emerged in recent days as it was revealed her former glamour model mum will not appear on the series. It comes after Katie Price reaches out to Harvey’s lookalike half-brother but fears ‘he’s too scared’.

Katie later spoke out and has said she refuses to watch the TV series starring her daughter, but insisted there was no rift between herself and Princess – and instead lashed out at Princess’ management company in an episode of The Katie Price Show released yesterday. Katie shared her upset as she was allegedly “not allowed” to take part in the show – despite apparent offers to do so for free.

In the lengthy rant in the episode of her podcast, Katie claimed: “I’ve always said, over my dead body would I ever want her to manage my kids because she doesn’t like me and Pete and me don’t talk. I am very, very, very upset that Princess has signed with them.”

She added: “Now she’s managing Princess and Junior, out of my control, I want the best for Junior and Princess, always, and I will never get in the way of it. But what hurts my feelings – and it does upset me – is when your kids grow up, you go to their assemblies, you go to their Christmas things, you go to their awards, you know, you go to their football matches or their gymnastics, you’re involved in everything they do.

“And knowing that what my career has been, Princess is taking that same path – trying to do the same as what I’ve done – which I absolutely love and adore of Princess but I had not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I’m not allowed and I’m not welcome.”

Now, Princess’ management company have responded. When contacted by the Mirror, The CAN Group said: “As a company, our duty of care to our clients is paramount. We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.”

Meanwhile, Princess has continued to focus on her flourishing career as she made an appearance at beauty brand Space NK’s new story in London ahead of its official opening today.

Princess also appeared on This Morning today alongside her big brother Junior, where she discussed her reality show and spills what fans can expect to see as she spilled: “You see me growing with confidence as it goes on. You see my family, it’s just really fun.”

She also discussed her decision to do the show as she said: “I got older and a lot more things have come in for me solo. A lot of things I used to do was with my parents and now I’m doing a show that is independent and actually focused on me. Now is the right time because my life is busy right now and I want people to see it.”

As This Morning posted a clip of the siblings’ appearance on their Instagram, Pete left a sweet message which read: “Love you both. Keep being you” followed by a heart emoji.

China welcomes new US-Russia contact as Trump seeks end to Ukraine war

China’s President Xi Jinping has told Russia’s Vladimir Putin he is pleased to see Moscow maintain contact with the United States to advance a political resolution of the Ukraine crisis.

The remarks during a phone call between the two leaders on Friday come after the Kremlin said President Putin would meet US President Donald Trump in the coming days.

During the phone call, Xi said China would maintain its stance on the need for peace talks and a diplomatic solution to the Russia-Ukraine war, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported.

The Kremlin said Putin had called his Chinese counterpart to update him on the latest US-Russia talks, during which Xi expressed support for a “long-term” solution to the Ukraine conflict.

The call between Xi and Putin was their second in less than two months. Putin is expected to visit China in September for events marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The two countries have further bolstered their economic, trade and security cooperation since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which triggered a sharp deterioration in Moscow’s relations with the West.

China has never denounced Russia’s war nor called for it to withdraw its troops, and many of Ukraine’s allies believe that Beijing has provided support to Moscow. Beijing insists it is a neutral party, regularly calling for an end to the fighting while also accusing Western countries of prolonging the conflict by arming Ukraine.

Trump has voiced growing frustration with Putin over the lack of progress towards peace in Ukraine and has threatened to impose heavy tariffs on countries that buy Russian oil, including China.

The US president on Wednesday said he could announce further tariffs on China similar to the 25 percent duties he has already imposed on India over its purchases of Russian oil.

In response to those remarks, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday that Beijing’s trade and energy cooperation with Russia was “just and legitimate”.

“We will continue to take reasonable measures to ensure energy security based on our own national interests,” Guo Jiakun said in a statement.

Calls with other allies

Putin and Trump are set to hold talks, although no firm date or venue has been set. Both sides have confirmed preparations for a summit are under way and have suggested that a meeting could take place next week.

China has been mentioned in media reports as a possible venue for the Putin-Trump summit, with speculation that Trump could join Putin there in early September.

The Kremlin also said Putin had spoken to the leaders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and briefed them on talks he held with US envoy Steve Witkoff on Wednesday.

Putin also discussed Ukraine in a phone call with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Friday, the Belarusian state news agency BelTA reported.

Indian President Narendra Modi also held a phone call with Putin to discuss the situation in Ukraine and bilateral relations.

“Had a very good and detailed conversation with my friend President Putin. I thanked him for sharing the latest developments on Ukraine,” Modi said on X.

The Indian president added that he looked forward to hosting Putin in India later this year, without specifying the date.

Pause in conflict may be ‘close’

The calls came amid rising hopes for a breakthrough in the Ukraine war, now in its fourth year. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Friday that a pause in the conflict could be close, after speaking to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Tusk said Zelenskyy was “very cautious but optimistic” and that Ukraine was keen that Poland and other European countries play a role in planning for a ceasefire and an eventual peace settlement.

“There are certain signals, and we also have an intuition, that perhaps a freeze in the conflict – I don’t want to say the end, but a freeze in the conflict – is closer than it is further away,” he told a news conference on Friday. “There are hopes for this.”

Trump’s efforts to pressure Putin into stopping the fighting have so far delivered little progress. Russia’s bigger army is slowly advancing deeper into Ukraine while it relentlessly bombards Ukrainian cities. Russia and Ukraine are far apart on their terms for peace.

Almost two weeks ago, Trump moved up his ultimatum to impose additional sanctions on Russia, as well as introduce secondary tariffs targeting countries that buy Russian oil, if no Kremlin moves towards a settlement were forthcoming.

Rugby World Cup warm-up: Ireland v Canada

Venue: Affidea Stadium, Belfast Date: Saturday, 9 August Kick-off: 12:00 BST

Coverage: Live on BBC iPlayer and website with live text commentary on the website and app

Ireland head coach Scott Bemand says their final warm-up game against Canada presents an “ideal opportunity” for his side to test themselves against a “World Cup contender”.

Canada are ranked second in the world and are in Pool B for the World Cup in England where they will face Scotland, Wales and Fiji.

Ireland will take on Japan, Spain and reigning champions New Zealand in Pool C and Bemand believes the Canada game will be good preparation for what is to come at the tournament.

“Them being number two in the world I think is well deserved. They have really taken their game up levels in the last four years and it is going to be a challenge, but we need that and we want a battle before we head into the World Cup,” he told BBC Sport NI.

‘We want to get rugby into people’

Bemand has opted to make 10 changes from the side that fought back to beat Scotland in Cork last week as he assesses his players for a final time before naming his squad for the World Cup on Monday.

Wing Beibhinn Parsons, fly-half Dannagh O’Brien and the back row of Grace Moore, Ivana Kiripati and Brittany Hogan are the only players to retain their places from the victory.

Despite the numerous alterations, Bemand hopes his side are competitive against Canada, whom they lost 21-8 against in the WXV 1 series last year.

“We want to get rugby into people and it’s a good chance for them to stake a claim,” he added.

“Canada have got a physical threat, they are incredibly athletic as a team, but we want to be really hard to play against and we want to get set-piece and defensive pressure on them and fire shots in attack.
