‘This £10 smudge-proof brow pen gives me thicker eyebrows in seconds’

This brand-new high-street eyebrow pen, which promises 48 hours of wear and appears to have doubled the number of brow hairs, has been put to the test by beauty editor Laura Mulley.

Use this new brow pen to apply both before and after (left) and right).

Even if I’m not wearing any other makeup, and even if it’s just a quick brush through with a spoolie, doing my brows each morning is non-negotiable as someone with fairly unruly eyebrow hairs. Although I have my favorites, I’m always willing to try new ones, like this brand-new high-street brow pen.

You might have noticed Kendall Jenner’s perfectly defined arches in the brand ambassador’s new Faux Brow Tint Pen’s recent launch from L’Oréal Paris (you might have seen the ads). This unusual-shaped felt tip pen has two prongs that make it easier to draw on hair quickly and offers long, water-resistant wear that is smudge-proof.

It’s typically available for £11.99 (always good value, I think), but today only offers it for £10 at Boots as part of this week’s Boots £10 Tuesday sale. What I thought of it, in this image…

Here is what I’ll be buying after taking a first look inside Sephora’s newest UK location.

My eyebrows are fairly thick, but they do have gaps. I usually fill them in with a brow pen or pencil before applying a gel to hold them in place because of regular use of brow serums like this one.

You can draw on more stggered, natural-looking hair-like strokes with these three or four-pronged brow pens because they both have very long and fine nibs, which allows you to draw more slowly and naturally with a natural-looking, hair-like style. No dragging or splodging is achieved by the felt tip’s extremely flexible, super-thin, smooth, even line of ink that is extremely easy to produce.

I’ve previously found some brow pens to be so subtle that they can’t be seen or need to be repeated for the lines to be obvious. However, Faux Brow is quick and easy to use and leaves my brows looking fuller and thicker.

This pen held up perfectly throughout the entire day without smudging, even though I didn’t test the two-day-wear claim (we should all be thoroughly cleaning our faces at the end of the day).

To give a little more of a contrast to my actual brow hairs, I would probably choose the dark blonde shade over this light brunette if I were to buy it again, which I absolutely would.

To prevent smudging, I applied a light coat of my go-to REFY Brow Sculpt to the hairs to secure them (if you’re using brow gel, wait until the ink is dry completely first to prevent it smudging).

Myleene Klass reveals she saved someone’s life at Brighton Pride

Myleene Klass, the presenter and singer, has revealed how she played a very significant part in the Brighton Pride event that helped save someone’s life.

Myleene Klass has revealed she stepped into action to save someone’s life after they became critically ill at Brighton Pride. The presenter, 47, had taken on a job at the Pride celebrations with St John’s Ambulance.

She has been an ambassador for the charity since March last year and was able to step in during a time of need. The incident happened during the Sugababes’ headline show at Preston Park in the city.

Myleene was among the first to respond at the festival and performed a procedure called a “jaw thrust”. A jaw thrust is a technique used to open a person’s airway, particularly when there’s a risk of spinal injury and head tilt is to be avoided. It comes after Kerry Katona reveals her devastating health condition after split from ex-fiancé.

The Hear ‘Say singer praised her employees and St. John’s Ambulance service while filming her reaction following the incident.

“I’ve just saved a life,” she said, “and the Sugababes are probably playing in the background.” “Seeing how St. John Ambulance operated was truly amazing. Both doctors and paramedics are present. Everyone is present. Everyone simply did their part.

The man had to be taken to a hospital, Myleene claimed. What happened to the patient and what the circumstances are, she said, “but what I can say is that I am completely blown away and that I should have been a small part of it as well.”

You can tell how serious the situation was when I simply had to perform the jaw thrust, which is done to show how serious the situation was. Right now, the patient is traveling to the hospital.

Myleene continued in her caption how crucial it is to be first-aid-trained and how proud she was to work with the team to assist the man in need. She continued, “I cannot say more than that I could have seen a group of determined, dedicated, professional @stjohn_ambulance volunteers of varying ages spring into action with one goal: to save this person.”

Myleene revealed that despite not possessing as much professional expertise as some of her coworkers, she had the confidence to act when necessary.

Sadly, this wasn’t the first time Myleene needed to step into action to save a life. Earlier this year, she recalled the harrowing experience of her daughter, Hero, turning blue and collapsing due to choking on a plastic star.

Saving her daughter was the motivation for her joining St. John’s Ambulance. Myleene recounted the agonizing moment, saying, “Hero when she was a baby.

You know those dayglo stars you stick on the ceiling, she choked on them, right? They are not permitted in the house. When Myleene clarified when asked on the podcast We’re Not Getting Any Younger if the star had come out of the ceiling.

She was so small, she couldn’t speak. She was choked, and she was unable to even express what had transpired. “She was unable to even speak because she was choking.

As she attempted to remove the star from Hero’s mouth, Myleene endured what she called the “longest five minutes of my life.” The star didn’t appear right away, according to her, but Hero eventually vomited and “toddled off” in a bizarre manner, leaving Myleene in shock.

The NHS has a detailed guide on their website on how to respond in such situations, including instructions for administering back blows, chest thrusts, and abdominal thrusts, as well as steps to take if a child becomes unconscious.

Pamela Anderson speaks out over claims Meghan Markle ‘copied’ her cooking show

The Baywatch actress has rebuffed claims that Meghan Markle’s lifestyle program was a direct copy of her cooking show that premiered a few weeks prior.

Pamela Anderson has expressed disapproval of the similarities between Meghan’s lifestyle series and her cooking show while promoting her new movie.

Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has spoken out over claims that Meghan Markle “copied” her cooking show.

The allegations emerged when the Duchess ’ Netflix programme With Love, Meghan, was released in March this year, just one week after Pamela’s show, titled Pamela’s Cooking with Love, aired on Amazon. The premiere of Meghan’s lifestyle show was pushed back by two months after the wildfires in California.

Now, while promoting her new film The Naked Gun, in which she stars alongside Liam Neeson, Pamela was quizzed over the comparisons of their lifestyle shows. Appearing on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live programme, the show host addressed the viral accusations during a segment called Plead the Fifth. It comes after Meghan Markle’s birthday ‘gimmick’ is quietly shelved after major mistake .

How much of a rip-off did you think your show, Pamela’s Cooking with Love, was, according to Cohen’s statement to Anderson?

Anderson responded, “One – I didn’t,” after taking a look at the question. Cohen once more pressed her on the subject, asking, “One? You didn’t notice any similarities between the scores of one to 10?

No, I didn’t really look, but I didn’t create cooking shows,” Pamela retorted. She is simply acting in her own way.

When Anderson’s program first aired, Anderson and Meghan quickly pointed out the similarities between the two shows, noting that they both photographed themselves in brightly lit country kitchens, smiling and laughing with guests, and cooking aspirational meals with famous people and friends.

Both women were also captured on camera dancing joyfully, high-fiving their guests, and carrying wicker baskets full of fruits and vegetables from their gardens. Additionally, each episode lasted eight.

Online commentators have also compared Meghan’s new lifestyle brand As Ever to Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart’s projects, not just Anderson, who has also been compared to.

Martha Stewart appeared to be a little more cautious in her remarks about Meghan than Paltrow and Anderson, who have both quickly dissuaded rumors of any conflict between them and the Duchess of Sussex.

During an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle , Martha said of the Duchess: “Meghan I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about.”

Being authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important, in my opinion.

Although a second season of With Love, Meghan is due to air later this year, recent reports have claimed that Meghan and Harry ’s lucrative deal with Netflix will not be renewed when it expires in September.

With Love, Meghan failed to break into Netflix’s top 300 shows for the first half of 2025, and was outperformed by multiple seasons of the legal drama Suits, in which she starred before she met Prince Harry.

‘Water has surrounded us’: The slow death of Pakistan’s Indus delta

Before leaving his parched island village in Pakistan’s Indus delta, salt crackles beneath the feet as Habibullah Khatti bids his final farewell to his mother’s grave.

The Indus River and the Arabian Sea delta, where farming and fishing communities are located in the south of the nation, have been destroyed by seawater intrusion.

About 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the point where the river empties into the sea, Khatti from Abdullah Mirbahar village in Kharo Chan, said, “The saline water has surrounded us on all four sides.”

The 54-year-old turned to tailoring as fish stocks fell, but only four of the remaining 150 households could afford it.

He claimed that as stray dogs scurried through the abandoned wooden and bamboo homes, “an eerie silence takes over the area” at night.

About 40 villages in Kharo Chan were once buried under rising seawater, but the majority have vanished. The town’s population fell from 26, 000 in 1981 to 11, 000 in 2023, according to census data.

Khatti is preparing to relocate his family to the nearby Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, which is flooded with business migrants, including those from the Indus delta.

Tens of thousands of people have been displaced from the delta’s coastal districts, according to the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, which supports fishing communities.

According to a study released in March by the Jinnah Institute, a think tank led by a former climate change minister, more than 1.2 million people have been displaced from the entire Indus delta region.

According to a 2018 study from the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water, irrigation canals, hydropower dams, and the effects of climate change on glacial and snow melt have all decreased by 80% since the 1950s.

That has resulted in severe seawater intrusion. Since 1990, the water’s salinity has increased by about 70%, severely affecting the shrimp and crab populations and preventing the growth of crops.

According to local WWF conservationist Muhammad Ali Anjum, “the delta is both sinking and shrinking.”

The Indus River travels through disputed Kashmir before passing through Pakistan’s entire borderline. Millions of dollars’ worth of farming depend on the river and its tributaries, which irrigate about 80% of the country’s farmland. Once ideal for farming, fishing, mangroves, and wildlife, the delta, which is now made up of the river’s rich sediment that the river deposits as it meets the sea.

A government water agency study found that in 2019 over 16 percent of fertile land has lost its use as a result of encroachment of seawater.

A white layer of salt crystals blankets the ground in Keti Bandar, which extends inland from the water’s edge. Drinkable water is transported by goats from nearby villages using donkeys and carts.

Who “ever leaves their homeland voluntarily”? Haji Karam Jat, whose home was sucked up by the rising water level, claimed.

He anticipated more families would move his reconstruction farther inland. When someone has no other choice, they only leave their home country.

The first to change the Indus River’s course with canals and dams, which were followed by dozens of hydropower projects under British colonial rule. Farmers in Sindh province’s low-lying riverine regions protested, stopping several military-led canal projects on the Indus River earlier this year.

The government and the UN launched the “Living Indus Initiative” in 2021 to stop the Indus River Basin’s degradation. By addressing soil salinity and guarding local agriculture and ecosystems, one intervention aims to restore the delta.

The Sindh government is currently spearheading a project to restore mangrove forests, which act as a natural defense against saltwater intrusion. Land grabs and residential development projects cause clearing in other areas of the coastline even as mangroves are restored in some places.

After revoking a 1960 water treaty with Pakistan, which divides control over the Indus basin rivers, neighboring India is now a looming threat to the river and its delta. It has threatened never to reinstate the agreement, and instead has built dams downstream to stifle Pakistan’s flow of water, which it has described as “an act of war.”

According to climate activist Fatima Majeed, who works for the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, the communities have lost a way of life tightly rooted in the delta.

When women migrate to cities, Majeed, whose grandfather moved the family from Kharo Chan to the outskirts of Karachi, said they are particularly struggling to find employment when they have for generations packed the day’s catches and stitched nets.
