Which is the biggest club in Britain?

Which football team in Britain has the most players in the world?

The one with the most medals, perhaps? The one with the most money and the most popular social media page? Which position in the average league, the largest stadium, or the best? Or perhaps all of those things make up the happy medium.

It’s a debate nobody can win, one we all have a different perspective on, and one that will offend everyone regardless of how convincing their argument may be.

About 250 of BBC Sport’s staff members in the UK recently posed the unanswerable question in order to bring the most urgent of serious subjects to life.

There were numerous arguments. Additionally, there are many unhappy people.

However, we ended up with the lists on average and placed them in the top ten below.

Is in agreement with it? You don’t, of course.

Top 10 British football teams according to BBC Sport

Which team has won the most trophies overall?

Clubs are regarded as big if they win in the past.

Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers are the ones who have won more silverware than any other team in the English game when it comes to major trophies.

Manchester United is a close second and Liverpool are the most prosperous club in England, and the Reds look set to win the record 20 top flight titles this season.

Arsenal leads the FA Cup standings, while they also have the most European titles in the country.

Manchester City has recently risen in the rankings, claiming six of their past seven Premier League titles and a historic Treble in 2022-23.

Which club has the most popular social media pages?

Some of the more conventional people may dismiss social media followings as a marketing gimmick.

However, it does provide a good sense of how popular clubs are both locally and globally, as well as their ability to draw in fans.

Manchester United has the most popular social media accounts across all four major platforms, while other teams perform better on individual platforms.

Tottenham are sixth overall, but have the best Tik Tok following of any club, despite having a lower combined social following than their city rivals, while Manchester City perform better overall.

Which club makes the most money?

Is money really all that important? Manchester City is the clear choice if you believe it to be true.

City made the most money in 2023-24 of any English club, surpassing Real Madrid by £708 million, according to a study from Deloitte’s Money League.

The biggest stadium for a club?

Manchester United is the best team in the world if big club means big stadium to you.

Old Trafford is the biggest club stadium in the world, with 90, 000 seats at the moment, and United has also announced plans to construct a new, $ 2 billion, 100, 000-seater stadium close to Wembley.

When Manchester City start operating next season with a capacity of 52, 888, Bramley Moore Dock Stadium’s new stadium, which will increase its capacity to 61, 474, will be ranked seventh in the top ten.

Which club has the highest average Premier League position in the last ten years?

Consistent play is essential in football.

And Manchester City has been exactly that for the past ten years. Their average league position is impressive at 1.7, with the six titles they have won, including a record four in a row.

There is hardly anything in the chase pack that leaves Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea in their respective average finishing positions.

Everton, Crystal Palace, and West Ham have all consistently finished mid-table over the years.

Many people might be surprised to see Leicester City in the top 10 after a year in the Championship. They are also credited with their incredible 2015-16 title victory.

Because Celtic and Rangers do not compete in the Premier League, they are not included in the above table, but Celtic have won nine of their past ten championship seasons.

Do you share your opinion?

Use the ranked list below to make your voice known.

Every club that appeared in any of the top ten lists above has been listed, and you must now decide how to arrange them, starting with the ones you believe to be the biggest.

Young Chinese Women Find Virtual Love In ‘Deepspace’

Rafayel’s girlfriends organized a spectacular drone show, decorated high-speed trains with his photos, and rented malls across China for parties to celebrate their lover’s birthday.

The birthday boy, who is a virtual character in the romantic mobile game “Love and Deepspace,” which has attracted millions of young women from China and beyond, was not present at every event.

The game, which was released last year, combines monster-hunting action and occasionally raunchy cutscenes in a futuristic world where “Love knows no bounds,” according to Shanghai-based developer Papergames.

And its realistic 3D character modeling, immersive narratives, and chance to interact with five distinct virtual boyfriends captivate players.

The game has received more than $500 million worldwide on the Google Play store and Apple’s App Store since its January 2024 release.

Market research firm Sensor Tower reported to AFP that about 40% of its revenue comes from abroad.

These virtual companions provide emotional fulfillment for many more than just entertainment.

This photo taken on March 13, 2025 shows student Liu Yuxuan reading a text book with “Rafayel”, a virtual character in the romantic mobile game “Love and Deepspace”, displayed on her mobile phone at a university classroom in Beijing. A 25-year-old office worker named Liu Xue likes to think that Rafayel and her relationship to real people are romantically involved.

At a birthday party in Beijing, she told AFP, “I would say to myself or to my inner circle of close friends that we are lovers.”

In reality, I don’t believe I need company.

He regularly visits Liu, comforts her when she’s down, and even updates her on her menstrual cycle.

She said, “It’s like emotional sustenance.”

However, this attachment has a price.

Players frequently spend a lot of money on in-game purchases to unlock additional storylines and interactions with their favorite characters, despite the fact that “Love and Deepspace” is free to download.

There are similar games with similar themes, but few have the same reach and popularity. The game does not offer women partners.

According to third-party surveys, between five and ten percent of “Love and Deepspace” players are male.

Better than reality, in my opinion.

Wang Yaya, a 23-year-old university student, has spent more than 70 000 yuan ($10,000) on the game and related merchandise.

She told AFP, “I’m happy I paid for the emotional value.”

Fans use their money to fund activities like those to commemorate Rafayel’s birthday, where they pose for photos with cardboard replicas of the heartthrob and exchange handmade goods.

Wang, a seven-year veteran of console games like “Love and Deepspace,” attributes the lack of emotional support from their parents as children to her and her peers’ willingness to spend.

She continued, “Many of my friends are the same.”

And some players find virtual romances to be much more appealing than actual dating.

Liu claims she has lost interest in dating real men after discovering “Love and Deepspace.”

She referred to the wider genre of romantic games, which was created in Japan, as “playing otome games is especially nice and even better than real life.”

Liu Yuxuan, 22, sees her life’s connection with Rafayel in particular as a major priority.

“Because everyone has secrets, some of which you can’t share with others.” You can talk to him when you start the game, she said.

She said, “I can show him my love without any reservations,” and he will do the same for me.

Rafayel claims that this kind of devotion can only be found in the real world.

Another player, who uses the name Zaylia, summarise the appeal of the game for her fellow players, saying, “It fulfills our fantasy of being in a relationship.”

NCS seizes N125m worth of smuggled petrol in largest bust in recent times

About 125, 000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), valued at about 125 million, have been seized in Kebbi State by Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) agents in a significant blow to fuel smugglers.

According to Persecondnews, this massive seizure, which was carried out as part of “Operation Whirlwind,” is the largest fuel bust since the initiative’s inception.

Fuel smuggling poses a significant economic threat, according to ACG Hissaini Ejibunu, the national coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, on Tuesday, contributing to revenue losses, artificial scarcity, and security risks.

According to Ejibunu, “We are committed to dismantling these smuggling networks,” “Fuel smuggling is a major economic threat.”

4 375 jerrycans, each 25 litre, and 54 200 litre drums, each contained the confiscated fuel.

Prior to being intercepted in Tsamiya, officers had been watching the trucks being loaded with the fuel. They were registered in the Republic of Benin.

The collaboration between the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) was credited with the operation’s success.

The officers’ vigilance was commended by Customs Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi, who also thanked Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, the country’s top economic crime advisor, for his leadership.

Adeniyi urged Nigerians to report suspicious activity in support of Customs’ anti-smuggling efforts.

“This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration. We are still holding economic saboteurs accountable and destroying smuggling networks, Adeniyi said.

Just in: Judge hands off Natasha’s case, cites Akpabio’s petition

With the resignation of Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, the legal dispute between suspended senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and the Nigerian Senate has taken a dramatic turn.

The judge announced that he would be stepping aside as a result of a petition that the judge filed against the judge, which alleged the judge was impartial, when the case was scheduled for hearing on Tuesday.

Egwuatu made a statement stating that he would turn over the case file to the Chief Judge, who would then designate a new judge.

The judge effectively halted the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from pursuing disciplinary actions against Akpoti-Uduaghan on March 4 according to Persecondnews’ previous reporting.

The senator is accused of breaking the Senate’s code of conduct and rules.

Egwuatu also provided the defendants with 72 hours to explain why the court shouldn’t launch an investigation into the Senator without violating the provisions of the 1999 Constitution, Senate Standing Order 2023, and Legislative Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act.

He gave the defendants’ attorneys permission to use substituted means to serve legal documents on them.

The court ordered that the legal documents be delivered either by posting them on the National Assembly’s premises or by handing them over to the clerk of the assembly.

Additionally, the court mandated that the documents be made available for public viewing through at least two national newspapers.

Following Akpoti-Uduaghan’s urgent application, the interim order was issued.

The Senate Committee convened in spite of the court’s ruling, which led to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension.

Justice Egwuatu revised and revised his initial order after receiving the defendants’ requests.

He lifted the bar that the Senate could not pursue the senator’s legal challenge while the case was pending.

The court’s authority to interfere with Senate affairs was challenged by the legal team representing Akpabio, led by Mr. Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN).

Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan’s heated argument sparked serious allegations of sexual harassment and defamation, which escalated to serious allegations of defamation and harassment against Akpabio.
